This was a really fun and cute game!

I think the weakest point of this game was the menu and the UI. Not the elements (actually I was very impressed you have a volume slider), but the visual design. The menu fonts, colors, and textures kind of looks like something I would have made in powerpoint as a kid. The UI home and reset buttons are both very useful (thank you for including them), but they're kind of big and get in the way of the game.

The design of the squares, however, is quite nice! I like their faces and how each square spawned is a random color.  I absolutely loved how to squares would sometimes do little flips as you jumped.

You managed to get a lot of levels and a nice ideas out of one simple "touch orange=die" mechanic. The first level I had to jump into an orange block to die in mid-air, and the first level with a pellet gun both presented new applications of the mechanic I hadn't thought of.

Overall, it's a fun game that gets great use out of its simple mechanic! If you clean up the visuals a bit, you'll have something really great. I noticed that you made this in 24 hours instead of the full 3 days. Great job!

Thank you for the feedback and for the review. Yes, the base game was made in under 24 hours but then I spent the rest of the time making small adjustments according to the feedback I got.

Fun game!

It's different that the game is so physics-based. Which meant that carefully stacked squares could be accidentally pushed away making you start again.

Overall it was a fun and simple experience.

Good job!

Very fun and simple game! Nice job! :) I got a tip on my own game from  Marxy-37 , to implement some better platforming feel which I really appreciated. I think your game also would benefit from this to make it even better!

Developer

Thank you for playing :)

I really enjoy this game! i certainly do kind of feel bad for letting all those squares die, but great game!

Developer

Haha thanks for the feedback :)

Simple and fun! The art style is charming and minimalistic, which I really enjoy :)

The platforming feels really nice, the levels are not too challenging and not too easy, and the music adds this cool relaxing feeling. Great job!

Please consider paying and rating my game if you can :)

Had fun playing this one!

I noticed a lot of games are interpreting and implementing the theme this way, but that's okay! The mechanic was well implemented and there were a decent amount of levels to really explore what you can do with the idea.

The graphics were alright, but definitely could have been better. The best part of those was the cube being a different colour each time, very cute!

The music was a little too repetitive, maybe it's because the tune was very simple and short.

Nice work overall!

Had fun creating a staircase here:

And it looks like you stick to ceilings when you hold the jump key. Parkour! :P

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I realised the ceiling climbing bug as well, but at that point it was a bit too late to do anything about it. Thank you for playing :)

I like it

Super fun but really frustrating, haha!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I agree that I should have made some levels easier

There are many games with this idea in the jam but this is the best one of them! Very satisfying controls and very good level design! Great submission

Developer

Thank you very much :) I appreciate it

I am really enjoying all the dead body corpse ideas. And this one has some really solid level designs! I also really love how the movement feels even though the square starts spinning around. Good job!

Thank you for the kind words :)

movement controls are great

The controls feel really satisfying and it's a great idea! My only problem is the UI elements on the level scenes are a bit large and take up to much space. Otherwise a nice game, thanks for sharing! :)

Developer(+1)

Yes I agree with the UI elements, I couldn’t figure out how to have them not change or mess up when exporting to WebGL though, that’s something I got to learn.

Thanks for the feedback :)

Here is a tip that could be helpful if I understand correctly, make sure those UI objects/elements are the size you want them to appear over your gameplay and then anchor them to the appropriate corners of the canvas in the inspector, then they should be more responsive. I took my game down and reuploaded before the deadline because of this. Sorry if you already knew! lol and good luck! :)

Developer(+1)

That might be it. I usually create a panel and use the shift + alt transform function to stretch it to the size of the screen and then change the padding. Thank you!

I like the physics of it and it is very fun, some levels are very tedious though.

Developer

I agree, some levels should have been remade, thanks for the feedback :)

I love the movement system in this one! It feels maneuverable! I also like the spin on the "jump on your corpses" game, where your corpses are effected by physics too! Overall this one just felt fun to play!

Developer

Thank you :)

Good concept, but it's heavily held down by the fact the you made the player affected by physics. Imo if you stuck the player in a grid position after they died (or at least froze the rotation) it could had been much better :/

Developer(+1)

You’re right, that could have been a nice change. Thanks for the feedback

The idea is good and good mechanics! Good job!

Please check my game as well ;)

I really loved the game and I would LOVE to see more levels because of its great gameplay. The only complaint is that sometimes the levels were a tad big, like in level 2, you knew what to do but it took time. But overall this game is great!
