Well that was dark.
Glad the mood came across well.
i feel bad now ._.
I noticed that the main character still has self-reflective thoughts even if you decide not to shoot anyone, which feels a little weird. I do like the commentary this game makes about how what we're told to do isn't always what's morally right.
Thank you! I'm glad my message was conveyed well. I'll look into the thoughts too.
Perfect fit for the topic! I liked the pixel look. One can image that with more time you could take this idea further with different outcomes etc. but you did a great job focusing on your main idea!
Thanks! I'm considering updating the game after the jam to add another ending. Not sure if I will though.
Nice job fitting the theme, The character's pixel art was nice. This looks like it could be an interesting world to explore.
Thank you, I haven't been doing pixel art for long so that's encouraging.
Very interesting concept, would be nice to have some rewarding option for not killing anyone
Visually it fits the mood pretty well, I liked all the sprites, main character and the bullets could be a bit more distinguishable but these are just minor things
Good job!
Thank you for the kind words! I really wish I had better used my time to add another ending.
The art is good, but the character sort of melts into the background, it isn't that easy on the eye.
Thanks! I'll take that into consideration.
Pretty good idea. The problem is that there is no other option than to kill everyone, so there is really no choice involved (which is disappointing, because my first instinct was to not kill everyone). However, I really liked the art style and retro feel - you nailed it!
Yeah, I would have implemented that if I had managed my time better. Thanks for the feedback.
Is there any solution other than to kill all?
I tried to explore the map first (if you move to the very bottom of the map you cannot move up anymore so I had to start over) I feel like this was a good concept to the theme and I could have been deeper and darker. Good idea, really!
No, sadly. I ran out of time to do it. Thanks for telling me about the bug and your feedback.
Great idea for the jam topic!
From my point of view, it would be better to decrease the amount of health per character or increase the bullet damage. Still great concept.
What's the engine ? (i'm a noob, so don't be surprised :D)
Thanks, I'll take that into consideration. By the way, it's Gamemaker Studio.
Good use of the theme!
Although I was expecting some twist, like the possibility to leave the area and have a "Mission Failed!" title.
But regardless, it's a simple game that goes straight into the game jam topic.
Good work!
Thanks, if I had managed my time better, I probably would have. This is my first 72 hr jam.
Nice game. Good pixel art style.
Maybe some less camera shake but it did make it feel nervous.. And that was not bad.
Good work!
Thank you!
Good concept! Everything worked fine for me and I liked the pixel art style, only little thing for me is some of the 'unadvanced' had colours really similar to the background which made them difficult to differentiate from it, and with them moving around fast, could get a bit confusing about what was what. It's a minor thing though, otherwise good job!
Ok thanks for the feedback, I'll pick more contrasting colours next time.
Dark concept. Everything worked well and the pixel art looks nice. congrats on finishing!
Thank you! My pixel art is slowly improving in quality.
Interesting concept. I wasn't too sure about what to do but I had fun shooting. The colors of the background tiles are a bit too strong for me, but I see a lot of potential in the game. Nice job!
Thank you! It seems I don't explain my game jam games enough, I'll take your feedback into consideration.
Liked the concept of morality in the game, though it can get somewhat repetitive. I did come across a bug though. I got to the bottom of the map and then couldn't move up. Also the font was a bit hard to read at the start so in future I'd recommend using more contrasting colours. Other than that, not a bad game.
Alright, thanks for the feedback!
