Very nice, I really like the jungle/temple feel and music
One question ... is that Don Estelle ?

Developer(+1)

It is now. I challenge your James Corden to fight my Don Estelle lol

Interesting idea and fun concept! I think the WebGL version is broken because it starts you out at the end of the game. I had to use the downloadable version.

Developer(+1)

I accidentally broke it on the last bug fix :(
thx for the feedback! should be working now (in case you want to go for the high score of 5 deaths lol)

very cool art work and good utilisation of the music and sound effects :) loved it

felt like a very complete game :)

Developer

ahahaha very cool of you

interesting game. i like the sound effect when you die

Submitted(+1)

It was an interesting game, but overall felt a little stiff, there was a bit of comedy, but there wasn't any interesting gameplay hooks, any unique sounds/music, and the art animations could've been better. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, pretty dark even, but It needed something to hold it together.

Developer

Thanks for the constructive feedback. It's cool to see that some people find things I can improve on, so I am glad you pointed this out to me. Thanks man

Haha the classic spear akimbo never fails :D This was really fun to play. The visuals were charming and the death jingle was catchy (It still plays in my ears 0_0) My only problem was the were no death animations or sound effects it felt weird when i died becouse of it :/ Other than i really liked the game also great use of the theme loved it well done :D

Note:I would be happy if you could check out my game as well :d

Great Submission!

This game is so underrated. I love the music and the atmosphere. The art is awesome and the gameplay is really nice. I would definitely press E to party hard again!

Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the amazing feedback! I'm trying my best to put it out there, but I feel like I can't do much more without sounding too needy...
I will try to play a lot of games and give constructive feedback for sure :)
Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

"And the party never ended." :P My only real complaint about the game is the amount of time dying takes. Would be nice if you could read the death text whilst also started your next run. :)

Submitted(+1)

i like how you realize the gamejam topic in this game! Very interesting! Polished game

Submitted(+1)

I really like that the changes are kinda story-based and you don't know what will change for the next gen

Submitted(+1)

It took me a lot of time to understand how to get through the dude who wanted to fight me.. wat too long lol

I think some interactions are quite pointless. Even though it was nice to press E to party. It was basically press E to respawn again and move along.

The spear akimbo was nice and creative tho!

Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the constructive feedback! I played your game in return, I hope I will be able to compete with such a good game one day :)

Submitted(+1)

Completed the game..yeah...but at what cost :)

Like the story in the game. That every action and event causes changes the next time.

Maybe some more interactions would have been nice but the time period of the jam was short.

Pixel art was cool.

Enjoyed it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree on the interactions, I focused on not trying to make it too hard, but realizing that I made a walking sim halfway through the project, I added some things here in there.

I'm glad you liked the art as much as I did! I animated the torches myself (since the animation was not included in the asset pack) and pixel-arted a new character (the guard at the start) myself. Some of the music I did not include because it did not fit the size of the game, but you should definitely check out the other tracks too!

I'm lucky that these were free assets :)

Submitted(+1)

i keep accidentally making walking sims every time i do a game jam lol

Submitted(+2)

Good game but it was a bit sad when the end only was "but at what cost" because i dont now why they still try to get to the end when many generations die before them. But great job!

Developer(+1)

That's a good point! Thank you for mentioning that! I'll work on that for my next game :)

Submitted(+1)

In my headcanon, it was their curiosity or their greed.

At what cost in deed. Super cool narrative game. I'm usually not a fan of walking sims but I wanted to see this one all the way to the end. At first I was like "wait, a rougelite?" and then I was like "no! A story driven game, sweet!" Best part, there's no way to lose! lol :D Very cute (yup, I said it) :P

Developer

Understandable, walking sims aren't too exciting for me either haha

I was just looking for a good genre to put this generation mechanic in, and a story-driven game seemed like a good choice. I'm glad you had a change of heart on my game tho :)

Submitted(+1)

Well polished and interesting mechanics, by far one of my favorite games!

Developer

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+2)

Charming, elegant, short and sweet. Loved it.

Developer

Thanks for the lovely feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Smart way of using the theme of the jam in a game, and it still look so good

Developer

Thank you! :)

only movement and one button to interact and solve puzzles: i really liked how simple and clean you pulled this off, while still having skill based elements in the game like solving the puzzles.

Developer

SPOILER! But thank you for the review :)
