One thing I've learned recently, is that story can add a lot to a game. It gives your player a role to take on, or a reason to play through. So good job on the story! This game does a lot of good things well, number one is nailing the atmosphere. I got spooked a lot but I kept wanting to play. Your game has this certain high level of detail that just really complements the story going through. Great game! Keep up the good work :)
thank you for playing and the feedback
This was surprisingly scary! After the first time, I didn't see the reaper for ages, and started to feel safe, then he suddenly showed up and really scared me. Good job!
I like the idea of giving the player dream hints as their time runs out. However, as far as I can tell, some of the dreams are not hints, but actually unlock things. That was a bit disappointing.
The lightning flashes were a really nice touch. It would be cool if they added to the fear meter, as they definitely scared me.
thank you for playing and the feedback as well.
I love the atmosphere of this game, every time a sfx plays i got scared and switched off my torch!! >D< I think that you should make more clear that the reaper is [HIDDEN 4 SPOILERS] (EDIT: i'm referring to the Dreams), because without reading the hint in the description, the player has no clue about it.
Also it's kinda hard to interact with the object, and if you click the space bar in an interactable zone you first need to exit the that zone and then re-enter again before you can interact with it
thank you for playing, yeah the game is overscope and I don't have time to fix some bugs and add more things like minimap, also to fix the dream mechanic as well.
the game is a little confusing but i couldn't tell if that's because i'm a weenie and was too scared to understand or if the design could be a little better. if scaring me shitless was the point great job, keep it up!
thank you
Love the vibe and art style. I can tell you spent quite a bit of time on sound work which was a great direction when making this atmospheric type of game. Good job!
thank you.
Great atmosphere
thank you.
Cool games, makes me scared. gege geming
aokwoakwoawo, thank you.
A very complete and nice game, I enjoyed it very much, some things that could make the game even better is the fear meter could progress a little slower, the stamina is good though, and sometimes the door navigation don't respond.
thanks for the feedback. yeah, we noticed at the end that the trigger for the door is kinda messy.
Huh, that was an adventure! I played it for like half an hour yesterday (and got killed at the end), but today, with knowledge about the mechanics and building layout, I gave it a second go and managed to escape! Yay! This was very consistent and full experience, I'm amazed!
Jumpscare sound for the reapers is top notch, I nearly s**t myself on the first time when he caught me. Flashlight and stamina mechanics worked well, balancing the pace and chances for detection. On my first playthrough I was very disoriented about building layout, got lost again and again. The first note with building description was really helpful, however it's a shame you couldn't go back to read it again :( I spend 5 minutes looking for third floor, because I remembered number of floors wrongly :D Also, I feel like simple drawn map with the building scheme and a few notes would be better than whole paragraph of text, that was a little overwhelming. However kudos for displaying the room name on UI, I would have no chance without that :D
The major thing that made me not succeed on my first go was a fact that I didn't catch the dreams mechanics - post process filter is great and it made clear for me that was some kind of a vision? But because of this PP i thought maybe a "death cam" "replay cam"? :F And I failed to recognize that he is hiding something! I feel like giving the reaper a simple animation of putting something into the container would fix that for me.
BUT taking aside all of my whining, it was SUPER satisfying to complete the game with the good ending :D It would be even slightly more super with a few lines of story-stuff on the ending screen, but that's a minor thing. Overall, this really played like a true game for me! Really, Really good job!
yeah we run out of time for making minimap so we ended up using text to show the location, also I don't quite know how to present the dream to the player that the reaper is actually hiding something, anyway thanks for playing and the feedback.
A really atmospheric game! The sound design and effects were really great in adding to the ambience, which really helped the game feel all that more unsettling. The game itself was pretty interesting, having to figure out what to do and where everything was - although something like a minimap definitely would've helped, since I got lost a fair few times. A faster walkspeed would've been nicer as well as a lot of the game was just walking around - it would've helped with the flow a little more. The graphics were OK, but they were a bit messy in places which kind of took away from the atmosphere - although the text transitions were beautiful - but apart from that it was a good horror game, especially for 72 hours! Good work!
thanks for the feedback, yeah we already planning for making a minimap but we run out of time, but thanks for the feedback
I can tell this game is pretty good without finishing it. the sound scape is really well done, and the gameplay definitely makes it more suspenseful. I just cant do horror that well, But really well done. the only thing I'd suggest is have the flash light swivel with the mouse or right thumbstick, and maybe lock it to 45 degrees either direction or something, it just felt a little stiff.
Totally understandable for people that can't play horror game, thanks for the feedback.
Really nice game!
The visual art was really cool!
Good job!
thank you.
Really good! I enjoyed this game a lot. The art is amazing, as well as the gameplay. You actually got me a couple times at first with the demon - they were some pretty good jumpscares! Especially with the sound effects, which were great by the way! And I really liked how you responded to the theme - I didn't think you did anything for it until I got caught. The only thing I felt could be different was that, in the end, I still needed my flashlight to be on to keep from being "scared" despite the fact that I'd just turned on all of the lights of the house. Maybe the challenge could be changed right there - like, instead of needing the flashlight to be on, you have to run away from the demon to get to the door. Still though, I really liked this game, and I think you guys did a really good job on it. Well done!
oh yes, I forgot about that one :), thank you for playing though.
A lot of content was created ! But it's seem complex because of this type of game hard for gamejam..But visual, art was really nice ! Make anim character more fun and add sound while player move is more creepy i think !
yeah don't have time to make sound for movement, but thx for playing
