Did you place any robots with shovels as their weapon? If you did, then you should have gained metal every time they attacked.

Nice game and concept. If I have to give a suggestion that would be to make shovel bot default in beginning and also to reduce number of enemies during the starting period.

Very fun little game! Assembling little robots with different pieces to design your own combat strategy is really neat. I love any kind of game where you try to find the balance between economy and power. It took me a little while to figure out that I was placing robots in columns and not grid squares, and it seems like after a certain point the game decided it was time for me to lose and started spawning an impossible horde.
Nitpicks:
Thank you for the feedback! I guess the shovel should be the default. And for the tablet someone else in this comment section said that maybe it could be activated with the press of a button. That’s the best solution I’ve heard so far. It could either be that the tablet is open while holding the button or you just click it to open and close

The gameplay was well crafted and nice presented. The audio FX weren't too bad either. The story is good enough and I like the graphics. I would have really benefitted from deleting bots to replace them (Maybe that's possible and I missed it)
Glad to hear that! We wanted to add that feature last minute but it would just give out errors and with 10 minutes to go we decided to just build it as it is. Will add it later though
Placing the bots is a little clunky. Reminds me of Plants vs Zombies.
Yep that was our main inspiration. You can only place bots by columns though (and 1 per column)
Really liked the concept and the story telling. I started to get console errors and couldnt do much else but it was fun!
Yep unfortunately as I detailed in this comment section before I forgot to uncheck the “development build” option when building the web variant so that’s why the errors popped up😬. And yes there is a bug in the tutorial where you can’t lose but during normal gameplay there is no such bug. Just 1/2 more hours would’ve been enough for us to fix those bugs but I guess it is what it is
The robots didn´t go where I place them (or do I only choose the column?), they shoot through each other, the tablet is kinda of a chore to open and close by clicking a button and at one point errors filled up my screen. These bugs impact the game quite a bit but if you could fix these things I think it´d be a pretty neat game

- yep you only choose the column. I guess I should’ve made it a bit more clear in the tutorial
- We thought that it would be better to have them be able to shoot trough each other since we were greatly inspired from Plants VS Zombies
- The errors war probably from the tutorial. If you encountered any more errors than please tell us (for the browser [webGL] variant we unfortunatley forgot to turn off “development build” so that’s why the errors popped up)

Ah I see, that explains everything then, only thing I advise is to make bullets be drawn over the robots, to make it clearer that the bullets are going by the robot´s side and not perfurting them

Yep unfortunately due to limited time some bugs were left unfixed. As I said before in this comment section we unfortunately forgot to switch “development build” off when building the game so that’s why the errors popped up. Although I see there is no timer on your screenshot so I believe that you were in tutorial mode where there is a known bug that you can’t die. Cool concept! Found some small bugs, like not being able to place any robots and the timer not resetting, but it's definitely got that Plants vs Zombies vibe!
Glad to hear you liked it! Unfortunately due to time constraints some bugs were left in. We hope to fix them in the future (after the jam ends).
