Nice game! I'd guess you couldn't decide on a single theme so you decided to do all of them xD. Simple game, nice polish, and cool idea!
Great job!
Very well made game. The polish is definitely it's strongest point, and the idea is pretty unique too! I love the twist where it's a traditional platformer then you end up playing as the final boss. I also liked the small details like the endings and the health increasing as you lose! Really enjoyed this take. Great job you guys!
Had a good laugh at this game!
The cameraman in games and movies has always been a joke and you made it a reality! Really enjoyed this clever idea, pretty polished, love the doom style, veeeery unique idea and works surprisingly well.
My only note is that it is a bit a hard, but I'll pass that since it's a 48 hour jam xD
Excellent job! You deserve perfect scores
Very well made game.
While creating a level isn't the newest idea, making it randomly generated and having to figure out ways to connect the rooms to the finish line is a very unique take. I thoroughly enjoyed this submission!
Even though this is an excellent submission, I have a few suggestions for the future:
- Perhaps add a transition animation, it can make it look more polished!
- Perhaps maybe a few particles? These small details really add up when creating a game.
Great job!
This game was awesome!
Really liked the aesthetic of it! The color fit really nicely, and the polish is just outstanding! The concept is really unique amongst others, but it was confusing at times. I couldn't really understand how to defeat the enemies; they kept running away and I didn't know how to shoot.
Some suggestions I would recommend are:
- Add a healthbar. You don't really know how much health you have left so it's random when the death screen will come.
- Update the tutorial. I understand probably due to time restrictions a proper tutorial was out of reach, but, a bulk of text can get the player uninterested and bored quickly. I would suggest for your future jams to put your focus mostly on both the tutorial and polishing since players usually play for ~5 min ish.
Other than that, this game was really nice! The concept was great as well as the polish!
Keep it up!
Thanks :)
Actually to split you need to press [K], but silly me I disabled the visual for it.
The ground texture looks pixilated because I wanted to experiment with non-pixel sprites for the first time, and didn't think about Point (No Filter) since I thought it wouldn't matter. Thanks for pointing it out.
Sorry about the bug! I didn't notice it until too late.
Yet, thanks a lot for this feedback :D
I really liked this game! I nice twist to the good ol' Getting Over It. I personally never played Getting Over It before, so this game was quite tuff xD. The art in this game was really good, I liked the simplicity of it; as well as the post-processing done was great. The sound design and music of this game were clever, really fitted the atmosphere. I liked the idea that was implemented, instead of going all the way done, it will be easier to climb.
I suggest, to improve this game, making the cursor clearer. It was really hard to see the cursor so I wasn't sure where I was swinging my pickaxe.
Overall this game was great, I liked it a lot!
Great Job!
This game was great! The art is really good and cute, and the music really fits the atmosphere. It was quite a creative idea and a fun one if you ask me! The UI was kinda messed up, but that's probably because of the online version, it happens a lot. Probably it wouldn't have happened in the app version.
Some suggestions I would add to improve the game are:
- A tutorial. I didn't understand some of the mechanics and got stuck a lot. So, a tutorial would be nice so the players know what to do.
- Either extended the music or add multiple tracks. Since after a while the player may get sick of the same beat over and over.
- Add SFX whenever you lose or win as an indicator.
Other than that, the game great with a creative idea!
Keep it up!
This game was fantastic! I loved everything about it! The art, SFX, music, and animations are all great and complement the aesthetic really well. I liked the way the tutorial was laid out and the humor of the player being aware of the irony of the game xD. It's incredible how you managed to make such a polished game in such a short period of time! The idea is simple but unique; a really nice twist to the usual bullet hell games. And it was nice throwing in other mechanics like mazes. I nearly ran into zero bugs! (The only bug I ran into was just a visual bug, which was animations like moving and dashing were still playing after death).
A suggestion I would add is adjusting the difficulty quite a bit. The health kits do quite a lot of damage, and the bullets don't heal much. But understandable due to time limitations. It seems that you focused much more on polishing which is a great thing.
Overall a phenomenal game! Had tons of fun playing it!
Great Job!
Thanks for the feedback! I agree the player is really floaty, that’s a mistake on my part. I focused mostly on things like jump buffer and coyote time and didn’t notice the floatiness until it was too late. And thx for the tool suggestions! These could really help me out in the future. Color scheme is something I should look over more, I always leave it to the side; Though, I agree with using it more. And thx for the SFX generator, I planned on adding SFX to the game but since we were busy at the start of the jam, me and my friend made this game in under 24 hours, so we didn’t really have time. Thanks for the detailed feedback. Most definitely I’ll consider it in future projects! And I’m glad you liked the game :D
This game was great! I loved the aesthetic of it. The topic is really creative and simple, not difficult to understand. The level design is great and the levels were fun! I really liked the music, it was really chill. This game definitely gives back the nostalgic flash games aesthetic, which is definitely a plus for me! The mechanics are really unique and fun to play with, definitely one of the most creative puzzle games I've tried till now!
Some suggestion I would recommend adding are:
- Adding animations and sound effects whenever you change spawn locations/winning the level.
- Making the transition faster and probably add text like "Level Complete" or "You Win!" to give the player the feeling they won.
Other than that, this game was really enjoyable, I liked it a lot.
Keep it up!
Hello, Jonas!
Just wanted to first say that this game jam was incredibly fun! Thanks for hosting it :D
My question is, I know you said it's fine to add a version for different platforms and fix urgent bugs after the submission period is over. I did that I added a webGL version and fixed a few bugs. But as I did that I added a restart button just in case anyone runs into any bugs I didn't notice.
Is it fine for the addition of that button, or should I remove it?
When I first saw this game I knew it will be good, and I wasn't disappointed. This game was something else. Everything about it was fantastic. The art is great, the mechanic is really creative and intuitive, the music is really chill and fits the atmosphere. It's outstanding how polished this game is with very little time. If I saw this game outside of the jam I would have probably thought It was a full commercial game. The level design is really clever; not a single level felt unfair. The tutorial is probably the best I've seen, It's easy to understand, interactive, and probably what makes this game so good.
I also loved how if the orb got somewhere impossible to reach it returns to you. A very clever thing to keep in mind so the play doesn't get stuck.
I also really loved the effects put in, the smoke particles coming out from switching directions, as well as the orb trail. Really adds to the wonderful art of this game.
I can definitely see this game turning into a full game in the future (If you plan on expanding it, please inform me!)
This game was really fun until the end, Awesome job!
Where do I start with this game... This was a fantastic experience. The game is so polished with everything complementing each other. The art is gorgeous, the SFX and music are frightening but fit the aesthetic really well. The animations in this game are really great and the menu is beautiful. I loved every aspect of this game, and it was an enjoyable experience!
One suggestion I would add to improve the game is adding probably a health meter and a bullet counter.
Other than that, this game was outstanding!
Great Job!
Thanks for playing! I understand the frustration of getting stuck sometimes, though I see it as a mechanic since the level is short, you have to be strategic with platform placements. You can always restart the level by pressing R. Though being able to remove the platform can be a good idea, thanks for suggesting it.
Other than that, I’m glad you enjoyed!
This game is just... WOWIE! I loved this game a lot! I can see some inspiration taken from Try. Die. Repeat, but the different platform types add to the juice of it making it much more unique. The visuals are simple and attractive, the animations are fantastic, the music is really chill. It's fascinating how polished this game was! I nearly ran into 0 bugs! (I'm not sure if it was a bug, but at some point, the music stopped.) I really had a fun time playing this game! Definitely one of the best I've tried till now. It insane how you managed to make such a polished game with many levels in such a short time, now that's talent! I also loved the shader you've put on the menu, just a small detail I liked. I can definitely see this becoming a great game if you continued working on it! (If you're gonna do it please inform me, I'd love to see more :D!).
I do have some suggestions to make the game better:
- Adding jump buffering and coyote time. These 2 can make the movement much more responsive and smooth.
- Different music for each chapter. (Though probably due to time restraints I understand the reason.)
Other than that I loved this game! Definitely a 5 star from my side!
Thanks for playing! I'm really glad that you enjoyed the music! I'm quite new to music production so this feedback is really heartwarming. Regarding the player, yea it's a mistake on my part. I focused mostly on polishing the main movement with stuff like jump buffering and coyote time and didn't notice the floatiness until the very end. Thanks for mentioning it, I'll consider it in future projects!
And don't worry, I'll check your game out :D!
This game was great! Loved the aesthetic of it, definitely has the retro 1980's vibes. The controls are quite fun (The only downside is that the sensitivity is too high, but understandable due to time). It was really fun just jumping around and blasting the enemies! The post-processing done is fantastic, really adds up the vibe you're going with! I didn't really understand how the theme was implemented, so if you don't mind explaining it to me, may you?
Overall a wonderful, really enjoyable game!
This game is really awesome! Loved the artistic approach, quite a unique one if I say so myself! The game is incredibly fun and the mechanics are easy to understand, as well as they are explained nicely. At first, I didn't understand how it fits the theme, then realized it's probably used to learn the levels! I really enjoyed this game, it polished, fun, and looks cool!
Fantastic Job!
This game was phenomenal! I loved everything about it! The art, music, SFX, and gameplay! The game started off easy, but halfway through I got too overwhelmed xD. Overall this game is fantastic! The only suggestions I have is probably adding a tutorial, as well as maybe adding death animation. Other than that, this game is incredible!
Wonderful Job!
This was a really unique game! I really enjoyed it! The art and music are fantastic, and the movement is quite unique! Quite a refreshing experience if you ask me! It's extremely impressive how you've made procedural generation in such a small time frame, you don't see this every day! The only bug I ran into was buying since coins didn't really matter since the counter went to negatives. In my playthrough enemies would kill me really fast and a didn't really know how to kill them, so I would suggest adding a small tutorial.
Overall, I really enjoyed this unique experience!
Great Job, man!
