a musou game? in my game jam?! it's more likely than you think

this is like the Papers, Please of games about consumerism

I think you have something really great on your hands here. Even though it's linear and punishing I stuck with it way longer than I thought I would bc the core concept is so strong. And those visuals are sooo good. Would love to see this expanded with a smoother ramp-up!

PSA

what a pleasant surprise! If I ever get into roguelites one day for real I'll credit this game for doing it

had no idea what this was supposed to be but that's kind of my thing so good job

Thank you so much for fixing it! I really did enjoy it, I felt right at home, though it was a little tough without gamepad controls (not that I'd expect that level of work for a jam!) I'm impressed with how much you were able to pull together for an effective imitation.

gettin' piggy with it

i loved how stupid this is

one of my favourite ideas in this jam I've seen so far. Very satisfying to execute well

better than Uncharted

I liked the sound effects and simple gameplay

thanks for teaching me new words. thermoperiodicity

really refreshing to see a game with dialogue, and it's so charming and funny! I loved the mixed media

controls super nicely, and I like the crisp visuals

smile!

coocoocool

super cool!

I only wanted to learn more about the 20th century poet and now I have carpal tunnel

cool idea

Seconding the other comments. The groundwork is there (lol) but I think we all need some clarification on how the game actually works. The explosions and particles were wonderful

pressing space to jump and/or not locking movement to tiles would've made this a lot more enjoyable. However in terms of competing kaiju games you wasted me in the graphical department! good job

Loved the music, really liked the idea but it wasn't clear that anything I was doing was making a difference and ended up with same results each time

I totally agree. By the time we put this together I hadn't thought out how the rooftops would mesh with the street level which was kind of an afterthought. They should stand out more than anything and at the time I was just thinking how an actual rooftop would look, though combining that with readability is ideal!

Unfortunately the problem persists :/ oh well

I would like to play this since Celeste is my favourite game ever made but my screen looks like this when running it and I don't know how to fix it

The game got 100X better once I realized you're supposed to slide under those tables! Great music, addicting little runner
