My my, this is a great game :D My only problem is that my vision is pretty dizzy after playing a while, also having top speed is actually bad for you!

Interesting take on the clicker/incremental genre. I think the balancing is all right. For me the map was a bit hard to understand. Even if I got all the info I needed when I howered over stuff, and also lots of the explanations are very clear. I only realised at almost the end that the random numbers represent the degree of the given tile :D
I think this game would benefit a lot from SFX and music, and also the kinda simple art that your capsule art has would be nice to see ingame too. With all that said, very good entry, it was enjoyable to play it through!
Hey guys! This is our game, a silly endless runner game https://itch.io/jam/pirate/rate/2468390.
For our team this was not the first game jam experience, and we decided based on what we did the previous jams, that we want to have a working gameplay loop, and preferably no long story, or reading in the game. So we went with a meme idea of Jean Claud Van Damme spreading his legs between two trucks. We wanted to convey a retro arcade vibe. My responsibility was doing all the titles and typography in the game, and the UI layout. I also wrote a theme song for the game and it was such a blast, after I got over hearing my own voice in the song :D It was pretty great to work with the others, and apart from the last day crunch I think everyone had a great time putting this prototype out there (we uploaded the game 5 minutes before deadline) :)
The thing that was different in this jam for me at least, is that we got so many feedback, that I was much more motivated to play a lot of other people's games and give them some feedback in return, and that process has been very educational. It is good to have this sense of community in this jam, so thanks for that to the Pirate Software team :)
Check out our game if you haven't yet, and thanks for reading!
Good main mechanic. I also liked the overall feeling of the game. For me all 4 levels were exactly the same, is that on purpose? I also felt like the music is very low quality or fidelity, my ears hurt a bit from the low bitrate distortion (or maybe it was an effect idk). I think this prototype is pretty good and it has a lot of potential to grow (different chess pieces, or different boards, special squares etc), and it would be fun to play against other players too :)
I liked the limited aesthetic both in artstyle and music. It was pretty enjoyable. I got to finish it only on second try because I didn't realise at first that there is a time limit too :) I think the main mechanic is an interesting idea, but it got kinda old after the first 2 levels. All in all, good job on finishing something so fast, and keep creating!
I played your little demo, and it was pretty simple to be honest. It is good that you did it, and also congrats on finishing something, but as of now it is hard to say anything about it. I think the backstory was great, and good farming/idle game could emerge from this one. There is a lot to improve, especially on art and sound wise, but it is going in a great direction!
Heyo, I played your demo. I am not a big VN fan so my experience with games like this is pretty limited. Anyway I liked the overall vibe of the game, I tried all choice options and so far there is not much to do. I liked the writing, maybe the exposure was a little too much, but other than that it is a very intriguing start for a mistery game. Good job for getting so far, but there is a lot of potential for this to get even better!
Had fun with this one, the visual style works the music is soothing. The combat was a little bit repetitive for me, after realising that the sword is very bad and using only the bow. I also only had like 1 chance to level up, so the skill system did not really made a difference gameplay wise. But it is a pretty nicely put together prototype with a lot of literal soul. So good job to the developers, there is a lot of potential in this game!
I like the style, and the gameplay is also working okay. The only thing I noticed is that the music does not loop, or start again after ending. It also could use some more sound FX, but apart from that it is a pretty solid game.
I also found it hard to get wood after 3 or 4 campfires but was surprised to see that I can refill my heat even if I don't put wood on the campfires. It was pretty easy after that :)
Very cute game, I liked it a lot :) It really reminded me of some of the great Kongregate games like Burrito Bison. The gameplay loop is pretty satisfying. I liked the upgrades and the art was very funny, especially that everything was off scale in relation to eachother. I unlocked everything, the only thing that was missing for me was an ending, or extra dialogue when you brought the soup to the god. The putting everything into the soup even for upgrades and level continue was a nice touch. The only thing I missed was SFX and music.
This is a solid foundation and already a very enjoyable game, and it could be even better with more things to do, animations and a more cohesive style :) Good work!
Hi! I tried to play your game, but didn't figure out the controls, I think it would be good to include them on the game and/or submission page - should this work with mouse? For me sadly it does not do anything :(
okay I realised that you have to click on the pipe, then on the grid, but even then I always get a different pipe on the grid that I clicked on.
Beautiful artwork! I liked the music too, took like 6 runs to understand what is happening. There was something that confused me tho - preaching did not specify that it gives you followers, but it did give everytime I clicked on different places. Being lucky with the toast event helped a lot to win the game xd. Good entry!
Also a retry button would be great :) I always have to refresh the page to try again now.
I was a huge fan of cookie clicker and other idle games, so I really enjoyed playing your game. I have some suggestions tho, the numbers go up feeling is something that all these clickers share - so seeing how many you get when you click is a huge part of the enjoyment. I also missed upgrades of the already owned buildings, and for me events didn't do anything. It would have been nice to have an effect like getting a lab - or getting infected people or something. Overall I would play more, if there were more things to unlock! Good job on the game!
Solid main mechanic, but I feel like around 70-80 mass it is very hard to progress, and it does not matter which direction I use, I lose mass either way. Probably if there were some consumables, or tiles that you can freeze to be yours, or any other goal to consume I would play it a lot more. I think this is a strong foundation, and the minimal style works well. Hope you continue developing it, it could be a great game!
It would have been nice to have the controlls on the game page too, but I found them at the end. Good job on making your first game! The thing is that burning things might be interesting enough, but this was a little bit empty for me. Also it was weird that you can not refill fire from the burning trees, only the campfire. I got 52000 score not sure if that is high or low :D Also my computer started struggling when the whole forest was in fire.
The mechanics of this game are pretty interesting, I enjoyed it for a time, but the dance moves were way too complicated in the end. I didn't like that I had to wait for the combo to go down to be able to try again.
The setting and the story is awesome tho! I also liked the soothing music. Great job everyone!
OMG, this game is so epic!
Very well done, the visuals and music go well together, and even if it is a little bit simplified it works beautifuly!
I liked the party mechanic and the combat, this is a very solid prototype. It would be much better with some actual character art, and animations, but I understand that the time available did not make these possible. Anyway I hope you will continue this game, it is already very good :)
