love the artstyle and overall vibe, my only feedback is there could be a button that makes battle go faster - having 1 attack and 23 life on the enemy makes it kinda boring.

thanks for playing :) Glad you enjoyed!

Impressive visuals and overall vibe. For me the controls were very frustrating, a lot of times I could not understand what I am looking at. It was hard for me to enjoy this otherwise beautiful game.

Props for doing something so ambitious in a week, but it needs a lot of playtesting. I loved the creature designs and the music, congrats for the team!

For me this was very hard to understand what I should be doing. No hints on controlls - scrollable playspace. This game is very not player friendly I guess. I like the main character but could not progress anywhere, I have no idea what was I supposed to do.

Nice idea! for me the playable map was a bit tiny, but the whole thing worked well together. I would enjoy a longer play or some even stranger events. Also the pixelated look made it flow very well. Good job developers!

The horror in this one is the platforming. Pretty good for a week of work, but this kinda junky controlls are way too annoying for me. Or I just suck at platforming, it could be either :D

loved the bitmap artstyle, and the old internet vibe of this piece. I wouldn't actually call this a game more like an experience, but it really puts some weird feelings across. Loved it!

Impressive vibe. My only complaint would be, that after getting the hang of the games they became way too easy I got top score, and let myself die at 3 minutes because it was too boring to finish. Maybe putting it on 5 minutes instead, or more little game variety would make it better. Also a skip button for the intro would help replayability a lot. Good job!

Interesting idea, for me the connection job without any map or knowledge was a bit confusing. But I tried 3 times and on the 3rd playthrough it clicked that the people asking drop some hints and from there I figured it out.

I loved the story, I missed some details, or anything about the protagonist. Also it got a bit boring after you had to connect 3 callers for the third time. But even than you did make something unique and enjoyable, congrats!

For me the monsters cooldown after taking a picture was a little too short, also sometimes it got kinda stuck, so it didn't run far away enough for me to be able to explore more. So after getting the camera I could keep it in check but could not really progress otherwise. The setting looks cool, but the gameplay got a bit boring after 5 minutes for me. Also the monsters animations for a but junky. Anyway good job on pulling this in a week!

hello,

its a bit silly game with some horror elements :)

https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2024/rate/3058006

This game does something very right! the sinister vibez, the epic B movie voice acting and the simple art brings it together nicely. I think the whole card combining and burning mechanic is very clever, it is also very unforgiving (which is a plus). Can't believe you pulled this in a week, that is crazy! Good job everyone, one of the favourites from this jam :)

I really enjoyed this game, even if the tasks were pretty similar and not difficult. The daily loops really put the point across. I really felt alone, for me the stasis part was a bit hard to see, but maybe it is just my screen. Props for the deep space vibez and the great atmospheric sound!

The capsule art made me click and try the game. The gameplay loop was a bit lacking for me, after 6 wins I got bored. Also for me it was not obvious at first that both sides of the screen kill you, so I died 3 times because of that :D Maybe some visual clues would help there. The game was a bit too easy for me, but good job either way!

Interesting concept. Having fullscreen would have helped a lot, since I kept moving the mouse offscreen hit space and then the whole window went down. I think the controls were a bit clunky. But I liked the menu for one thing :)

I liked the gameplay - maybe a fastforward button would be great to skip already seen dialogue. Apart from that I enjoyed the limited artstyle especially the animations and textures were funny.

The multiple endings felt great - also I am kinda sad that you cannot join this beautiful organisation. Good work devs :)

Very funny game, especially the animations. I survived until like 150, but after that it got a bit boring. Still, it is kinda playable so that is a reason to be proud

Liked the sound and Aesthetics, also the way the screen was structured. My only feedback would be that with the custom mouse it was really not obvious that I can only touch everything higher than the longest finger of the hand, and sometimes this made the controls clunky.

I really thought that the story will go somewhere, but I guess there is only so much that can happen in 7 days. Props for the creepy visuals and vibe! Also taking organs away had a weirdly satisfying feeling to it. Well done.

Interesting idea. I liked the jokes but it is clear that you only got to finish the 'tutorial' so the game should begin when yours ends. 7 days is not a long time as it turns out.

I liked the atmosphere and music and I thought I missed something because the screenshots had more backgrounds. But I guess it is not in the actual playable version yet. Hope you guys learned a lot during making this. Good Job!

Okay I beat it after like 20 runs. I managed to softlock myself with the toad lake. Also for me Bashing with the foresight is not healing me 3 health ever - and even the rage is not appearing.

also the main boss is ridiculous. There is no way to beat this shit man. Getting there is way too slow, and it is so boring to start over all the time. Dealing like 50 dmg and 2-3 psychosis every turn is just not fair I mean I started with a lot of health and I didn't get any attack cards in my hands for 3 turns. I mean the difficulty jump is insane compared to the other enemies.

For me the half life revive card (lizard tail equivalent) didn't work the first time I picked it, so I didn't pick it again since then. Other than that it is already a very enjoyable expansion to the jam version.

I do think that balancing is nonexistent as of now, winning a run comes down to what cards you get in the first 2-3 rewards and if you can scale them up fast.

Did I miss something or is it really hard to remove cards from the combat deck?

Anyway great job on the game, I like the aesthetics on the beginning when the dungeon seems to be more alive. And the color tint variations make it more interesting :)

A small note on the sounds, for me combat music cuts off sometimes abruptly, sfx are always there but the bg muic has some issues. Also when in combat my cards are not disappearing when I hit end turn only when it is my turn again and I try to click one of them from the last round.

I would love to see an auto-save system at the end of combats or something, even if a run is not long, it is sad to leave a good build behind when I don't have enogh time to finish in one go.

My my, this is a great game :D My only problem is that my vision is pretty dizzy after playing a while, also having top speed is actually bad for you!

Interesting take on the clicker/incremental genre. I think the balancing is all right. For me the map was a bit hard to understand. Even if I got all the info I needed when I howered over stuff, and also lots of the explanations are very clear. I only realised at almost the end that the random numbers represent the degree of the given tile :D
I think this game would benefit a lot from SFX and music, and also the kinda simple art that your capsule art has would be nice to see ingame too. With all that said, very good entry, it was enjoyable to play it through!

Simple main mechanic and great execution! The level ending animations are very satisfying. After 10 levels I got a little bored though, but very impressive submission! Congrats.

Thanks for playing :) We will definitely release the music after the voting time, stay tuned!

that was very beautiful and also horrifying. The presentation is next level, very inspiring all around!

Hey guys! This is our game, a silly endless runner game https://itch.io/jam/pirate/rate/2468390.

For our team this was not the first game jam experience, and we decided based on what we did the previous jams, that we want to have a working gameplay loop, and preferably no long story, or reading in the game. So we went with a meme idea of Jean Claud Van Damme spreading his legs between two trucks. We wanted to convey a retro arcade vibe. My responsibility was doing all the titles and typography in the game, and the UI layout. I also wrote a theme song for the game and it was such a blast, after I got over hearing my own voice in the song :D It was pretty great to work with the others, and apart from the last day crunch I think everyone had a great time putting this prototype out there (we uploaded the game 5 minutes before deadline) :)

The thing that was different in this jam for me at least, is that we got so many feedback, that I was much more motivated to play a lot of other people's games and give them some feedback in return, and that process has been very educational. It is good to have this sense of community in this jam, so thanks for that to the Pirate Software team :)
Check out our game if you haven't yet, and thanks for reading!

Good main mechanic. I also liked the overall feeling of the game. For me all 4 levels were exactly the same, is that on purpose? I also felt like the music is very low quality or fidelity, my ears hurt a bit from the low bitrate distortion (or maybe it was an effect idk). I think this prototype is pretty good and it has a lot of potential to grow (different chess pieces, or different boards, special squares etc), and it would be fun to play against other players too :)

Charming little game! Especially loved the music I love the original Canon :) Pretty simple but working game, congrats!

I liked the limited aesthetic both in artstyle and music. It was pretty enjoyable. I got to finish it only on second try because I didn't realise at first that there is a time limit too :) I think the main mechanic is an interesting idea, but it got kinda old after the first 2 levels. All in all, good job on finishing something so fast, and keep creating!

I played your little demo, and it was pretty simple to be honest. It is good that you did it, and also congrats on finishing something, but as of now it is hard to say anything about it. I think the backstory was great, and good  farming/idle game could emerge from this one. There is a lot to improve, especially on art and sound wise, but it is going in a great direction!

Heyo, I played your demo. I am not a big VN fan so my experience with games like this is pretty limited. Anyway I liked the overall vibe of the game, I tried all choice options and so far there is not much to do. I liked the writing, maybe the exposure was a little too much, but other than that it is a very intriguing start for a mistery game. Good job for getting so far, but there is a lot of potential for this to get even better!

interesting main mechanic! gave up on level 9 but other than that very good entry, nice art and compact overall experience! well done!

I really liked the visual base of the game. Sadly my window started lagging very hard after my screen was filled with mutant weeds :D I think the main idea is a solid one, the execution could be better, but hey it's a game jam. Also for me the cavalry never arrived - should they arrive?

Hey, I played your prototype! Good job on submitting it! As of now it is a little bit empty, so it is very hard to say anything else to it, but keep developing it :)

Had fun with this one, the visual style works the music is soothing. The combat was a little bit repetitive for me, after realising that the sword is very bad and using only the bow. I also only had like 1 chance to level up, so the skill system did not really made a difference gameplay wise. But it is a pretty nicely put together prototype with a lot of literal soul. So good job to the developers, there is a lot of potential in this game!

The artstyle is very charming - and the music fits well. Even if the game is simple it is quite enjoyable. Well done!

Very cute gameplay and aesthetic. Super simple but is well done! Congrats you made me smile :)

Very well put together and also plays great. I found it a little too easy, but apart from that it was a very cute and complete experience. Well done!
