An unsettling body horror. Bit like Operation but with implied cannibalism. Appreciate that the surrealistic innards pacify the gore a little bit and focus the game on the aspects of autopsy - if you can call it that. Some more challenges could help - but then what's the fun in doing anything other than tearing out the insides?
Thanks for submitting The Coroner to the jam!
Really interesting and unique, great work! Very body horror
Why did you make such a game?
This is aesthetically pleasing despite the theme of the game. Wow!
Reminds me of today, I'm harvesting you and lifer eater, you can check these out if you haven't. Overall a good start with great potential! Nice art!
Amazing art style! The game is pretty short but that helped make things not feel repetitive.
At first I wasn't sure why I had to keep retrying, then figured out there was a time limit, a UI element for that would have been nice. I also found the cursor to be a bit difficult to manage, but once I figured out the sweet-spot, it worked out okay. I feel like the ending was a bit abrupt, would have liked to have learn more about the person (monster?) speaking.
Overall was a fun experience with great art and sound effects. Nice job!
Have to say the strangest submission I’ve played so far, but fun! Really solid art style as well, reminded me a bit of Don’t Starve. I was confused at first by the fade to black when you lose, but got the idea pretty quick. Solid game!
SMASH THEM BONES
This has potential, but I wish the screen didn't cut to black when I was smashing the bones.
That made me uncomfortable xD Art was a little too good considering the subject. Good job!
You made me feel weird. Tearing people'ss organs shouldn't be so satisfactory!
very lovely art, pulling out organs was the best part, i was having trouble pulling the small organs from the third body. the breathing throughout was very intense, maybe the breathing should kick in when the body is about to die to indicate to the player that they don't have much time left to dissect. organs squishy very nice
The bodies are dead bodies, so the breath is actually the player's breath. We wanted to indicate that the longer time the player spends on a body, the more frightened the player is. And in fact the last body is alive, because when you have pulled all the organs from the last body, you will hear a scream (but we didn't do a good job on showing that). But thanks for the comment!
I disgust this game in a good game! If something is horror than this it be, the sounds and visuals are so amazingly grose yuk! The sounds and music where perfect and how it transitions. Only I found the breathing very annoying to listen to constantly it was making me uneasy.
Story is nice altho I didn't read it cause the dialogue was hidden above in the corner xD. So at the start I was bit lost so maybe try putting the dialogue close in view for the player to instantly see.
Overall amazing game only good grades!
Eep. The organ making squishy sounds whenever I tore the organs away make me squeamish. It was a well-made game, but the part where I had to rip away the monster girl corpse's organs was the most difficult part of the game since they were left dangling off screen. I had to retry that part a couple of times in order for me to beat the game.
Liked the sound and Aesthetics, also the way the screen was structured. My only feedback would be that with the custom mouse it was really not obvious that I can only touch everything higher than the longest finger of the hand, and sometimes this made the controls clunky.
I really thought that the story will go somewhere, but I guess there is only so much that can happen in 7 days. Props for the creepy visuals and vibe! Also taking organs away had a weirdly satisfying feeling to it. Well done.
The combination of the music and the artwork was incredible! I thoroughly enjoyed taking peculiar looking organs apart :)
I love the graphics and art here, it so good and just the right vibe with the music. Was a bit worried since the browser version didn't work right, but glad I got the download version working (with a hassle), it was so worth it. There seemed to be few bugs, I'm not sure if the game "ended" correctly for me, but for what it is worth, otherwise the idea and aesthetics are more than enough to get me hyped. I'd love to see more of this! Great work!
This was actually pretty frightening... maybe just the job itself being unsettling or the contents of some of the bodies but this one actually made me pretty uneasy... which is good! Good job.
Seemed to be some clicking/cursor problems on the bottom half of the game window for me.
