This is SUCH an addictive narrative loop, well done!! Really simple, clean, and effective :D Took me 3 unsuccessful tries before I started consistently getting the killer right, but coming back from the dead was well worth the reward! Really cool atmosphere to this, had a lot of fun keeping track of every detail!

Thank you so much! Really appreciate the feedback :D I think our Dev team ran out of time for UI by the end unfortunately (hence the narrative sadly not being as integrated in the current game build) but I definitely agree that a How To Play screen would be super helpful. Otherwise, definitely proud of how the game turned out, doing art and writing for this was a super fun experience! Thanks so much for playing :D
INCREDIBLY cool entry! The aesthetic, the narrative style, and the sound design were utterly gorgeous, this is such a cool use of the theme! Alas it took me a couple of plays to figure out, and I agree with suggestions to update the UI in future so it's clearer what's clickable (for a while I thought it was a bug that I couldn't click Penance, before realising you can only click Knowledge and Break Thy Pact.
Really cool, atmospheric game of chance, I'd love to see this as part of a larger narrative! :D
Accurate capitalism simulator, 10/10 would recommend, very scary! In all seriousness this game has such an interesting, mysterious atmosphere, and I'm so intrigued by the secrets of ~the staircase~ ! One day I'll hopefully figure out a way to not get fired (if the game allows that) since it took me a while to realise I can Allocate to multiple places at once. Super cool entry, excellent use of theme!
I got super invested in this gameplay loop! The names were so charming (I'd absolutely love to play some of these) and I loved the resource management loop! The fact that Life's Work is unreleasable frustrated me endlessly but you could definitely argue that's a feature and not a bug :D
There's a sleek minimalist design to this that feels quite charmingly emblematic of the Studio Bolland aesthetic, and tbh this game is making me want to get good at Notion and Excel lol. My personal suggestion for a future, polished, non-Jam version of this game could be an option for random event generation (developers leaving, recession, etc) that tanks the money to incentivise you to make smaller, cheaper games to regain resources - as it stands, the risk is kind of lost once you make a really good 5 year game, since thereafter you can take as long as you want. That said, the risk reward system is such an excellent use of the theme!
Time to go rest my carpal tunnel.
Really enjoying the game so far, and I adore the art stills! The aesthetic is very fun and the concept is really fun and quirky! Though I'm struggling to make it past a very very early level (motor skill issue on my part), and I'd be glad if anyone on this itch page thread has advice - I'm struggling with the physics of this jump (see screenshot) where the pillar is blocking upward motion. She doesn't seem to change direction mid-jump, without the jump immediately ending. I've tried to watch playthroughs but I can't see what strategy people were using to get her to clear this jump. Was anyone able to make her change direction mid jump and avoid the pillar without immediately falling into the flames, and if so, how? (Sorry this feels like a very silly question, I feel like this kind of jump is the only thing that'll mechanically stump me a bit)
The rope grappling system is such a fun mechanic, and the way you presented the opening credits scene is so cute! I loved your art and your special effects compositing (the dust particles, the light beams), it really added such a nice atmosphere to your game! There was one segment in the beginning where the shift-dash jump advice wasn't working (I ended up having to just double jump after a few tries) but no major movement issues I noticed so far on my first playthrough. Are you planning on adding HP loss or something for when you hit the thorns and obstacles? I haven't noticed any damage mechanic there yet and that might be really interesting.
Overall, really ambitious game for a week-long jam, and one that certainly pays off!!
