I´m sorry if it came off as rude, I wasn´t criticising the artstyle, just the technical aspects and anatomy. As an artist myself, I don´t think that visual art should be excluded from critism! And I don´t think is inherently rude to comment about it either.

Very funny, the fact that the evil cereal isn´t the granola but the sugary clown one was definitely a twist. I did however, encounter two glitches, the first one was in the store in the web version, the game just wouldn´t let me leave the money on the counter, making it impossible to advance so I downloaded the game, then in that version when I tried to serve the cereal the second time, I tried to pick up the frying pan after picking up the cereal, which made it impossible for me to serve the cereal and had to restart again because the continue button on the main menu didn´t work for me.
I´m also confused because in the web version there is a whole sequence inside the store that didn´t happen to me in the downloaded version on both of the two playthroughs that I completed. I don´t know what´s up with that.
I did laugh a lot and would´ve probably enjoyed it even more if I didn´t encounter so many glitches that forced me to restart.
I´m a little embarrassed to admit that I screamed out loud at both jumpscares haha.
Really enjoyed it! the only problem I faced was with the screen not fitting my monitor properly, so I couldn´t read the buttons that I was pressing on screen and the text at the end got cut. But the mechanics and scares were really efective! I really really liked it, it was very charming.
I will say that I had a couple of problems with the game, first the screen didn´t resize properly to fit my monitor so the text and instructions on how to play cut off and I couldn´t really read it. Secondly, the sensitivity of the mouse was waaay to much and it made it hard to look around and evade enemies. I do think having a settings option would´ve solved this issues. But I did like the aesthetic and it also looked fun! Sadly I couldn´t really play it well.
I thought it was a fun concept! I just think it went on for a little too long and with almost no variation. I also think you could´ve added a little bit more story with the notes that appear in the hallway.
To change up the repetition a little bit maybe you could add obstacles that make it difficult to complete the task that it gives you, for example, maybe when it tells you to "look right" the game makes you turn left forcefully and you have to fight against it to keep looking right. I would also enjoy more sound design, especially when it tells you not to move, maybe you could make it that the shadow comes near you and walks around.
But overall, I liked it!
As another person said, this is pretty much just red pac-man. The red tint that everything has makes it really hard for me to distinguish the evil skulls from the fire and floor, and there was a time while playing when I couldn´t evade the skulls because of the invisible walls that didn´t allow them to move out of the way for me to pass through them.
Also the broken english at the beginning made it hard for me to take it seriously, that and the cheap looking hearts and skulls.
This was truly an experience.
I feel like the writting needs a TON of work, and the chase sequences are very annoying because everything just goes waaay too fast. The sprites also need work, the shading on them make them look plastic and the anatomy is very off, i recommend using a symmetry tool for the foward facing bodies.
Apart from the lacking sound design, annoying controls and weird looking sprites (not in the good way), I will say that the idea of the story could be fun and all of the 8-bit art looked very good! I especially liked the kitsune 8-bit design when she turns into a monster.
PS. Sirius is definetly gay, i think he just doesn´t realize. I feel you guys could use inspo from Hatoge since they have a similar vibe to what you guys are trying to do (at least in my opinion).
I´ll be honest, the atmosphere and sound design is the best part about this, i like the story and mystery, i just think the voice acting and writting really get in the way of making it a fully scary experience, i also wish you used the mechanic of remembering more in the game, not only for clues but also for story and adding more depth to the main character. Overall, pretty alright game!
PS. There is a glitch or mistake in the subtitles of the 3rd tape in the game, don´t know if it was just me.
