Very nice story and message.
The gameplay is ambitious and works well. I struggled a bit to understand that I had to do an addition for the meat numbers, that part could be made more clear. The stealth/avoid Rogers phase works well. Jumping on the platforme was a bit complicated, I had to try like 6 time; I think it would be better if the platform lowered more. I'm glad about the translation update, it was not quite synchronized with the voice over after a while, but that did not prevent me from understanding the story.
Well done!
(Slight spoiler ahead, be warned.)
That was a great story! The navigation through key words, the deciphering of the letter, the hidden key—every interaction works really well to invest the player in the story, which is very well written. The background sounds and interaction sounds, like entering the reception center, were nice additions to a more immersive experience.
I think it could be expanded to other interactions tho (phone, elevator, emails...).
It was a great experience. I haven't tried every game yet, but yours might be in my top 5 of this jam.
It was a very nice experience! Loved your art! The horn mechanics were well done. It felt like operating a complicated machine while actually being simple to understand with the notes and hints. I have spent more time than planned playing with the harmonica, trying to create other music besides the one needed, haha. So, good job with that—it was well done!
I agree with SoulSplitter's feedback on the sounds and inventory. I would also add that I would have liked more "hints" foreshadowing the final twist. Nevertheless, I liked the story you crafted.
Good work! Bravo.
The setting of the story, the harshness of the sea, and the people's treatment toward the main character, as well as the conclusion, were very well written!
I agree with some of the critics; maybe the interactions with the merchants could have had variations or different outcomes depending on their flags. Same for the pirates, giving up ressources to prevent a fight or a pursuit depending on their flags.
It felt a bit repetitive at times, but the story was interesting enough to keep me going, and I managed to arrive at the Strange Havens after my second playthrough.
I really enjoyed your game. Great work!
It was a very good experience. The artworks are beautiful, and the filter animation gives them a dream-like quality. I loved the way you "fly in" the house from the title screen ! Also, the sound design makes the whole game very immersive. I loved the psychological theme ! it's well-written, well-designed, and very contemplative.
