This was so fun to play, I got really unlucky on my first playthrough as at the first station there were no customers with numbers over their head on the left side of the platform, so I kept trying to kidnap random people xD
After that though I managed to complete the game on my second playthrough with no one left behind ♥ it was tough but very rewarding! Loved what you've done with the theme, and it feels really nice to play ^^
Fire wizard for the win, the first time I played through this I took the lightning wizard into the last 2 rounds and not sure if I was incredibly unlucky but I couldn't beat the lightning boss, once I started to get low I tried to heal but only got healed for 1 ;-;
Then using the fire wizard I blasted through the last 2 rounds, I really loved the art of this game, the creatures and attacks where really nice to look at!
Really enjoyed this game, I found a game crashing bug though! when summoning if you hover over the new abilities it crashes the game! I'll attach a screen shot of the bug report I got :)
I also agree that the mage is so much nicer to play, and somehow luckier, every enemy I killed as a mage dropped a heart, while I only got 1 heart drop for the same amount of enemy kills as the knight, and with the dash not dealing damage, the mage was the easy choice for my dives, managed to get to rank 3 before I crashed ♥
Ngl every level I just ran through like a whirl wind of death xD I'd load into a level and kill every golem then grab the orb, I would of loved to see a gameplay mechanic with the orb to do with either a puzzle aspect or a golem killing one >:)
The game looks really nice though and it plays really smooth ♥
This was amazing! I love the randomness between each round as well, I started with a really small arena on the first go around (and may have flown off the edge!), but my second time I started with a 100 size 0.0
The AI was really fun and aggressive at times! and I love the create your own character section :)
Also the art for the floor tiles was amazing ♥
Managed to complete it! took me forever to figure out why the sword was getting bigger at such a large rate, took me 4 attempts to get past the first island as my sword would max out before I'd even killed the first guy!
Love the art and the voice acting, controls though a bit funky were fun once I got used to them :)
Hi for a University project we were tasked with creating a 2D game based on Polybius :)
I've made an endless top down shooter that's a 2D 4D game (it'll make sense if you try it!)
I am only in my first year of University and have made only a couple of games for Games Jams, so any comments on this or any of my other games would be very helpful ♥
you can find and play Polybius over at https://finalfart.itch.io/polybius !
Thank you for such a long review :0
this is really helpful with future development of not only the game but me as a game dev!
This was my first ever puzzle game / my first ever 2D game, so I am super stoked with the amount of positive responses! I understand that the levels (looking at u level 2) are super hard and have the steepest learning curve xD
After the Jam I am going to go back in and rework a lot of what levels go where, and add in several more levels that explain the features 1 by one, I also have a ton more ideas to implement that the code already supports (just some bool checks) such as buttons that only work when a certain colour stands on it, walls that can only be moved through if the player is a certain colour (this works for combinations as well! like Cyan or White), different ending platforms that you need to stand on all of them as certain colours to end the level (example: blue and green need to be in 1 location, while red is in the other)
Though I have no had too much experience making puzzles, I watched a good amount of documentaries and theories for the first 2 days of the game jam which I think really help me capture that "aha" moment in a couple levels, and I really want to continue development with more levels and worlds ^^
Yeah I only ever play tested it myself, which I see now was really not a good idea xD
after the Jam I plan to keep working on it, and adding in an entire section just for explaining mechanics, and adding in more content!
for tutorial levels I plan to not have all 3 players active, and just start by introducing them 1 by 1 in simple puzzle designs ^^
Thank you ^^ I was really worried the idea would not be unique when I first came up with it, and the whole game when through a lot of different ideas when making it, like light beams that a player could move into, or being able to turn off lights using the keyboard, but that also stops that colour player from moving.
Though I am really happy with how it came out, and want to keep working on it <3
