Wow, good job in only four hours. Very funny!
Great game here, I enjoyed doing bullet donuts around the map and leaving a path of destruction behind me. Great choice of colour and shapes. Sometimes simplicity in design creates more appeal, which this game certainly does.
Thank you for your feedback, I dont know how one can fail at choosing primitive shapes, but bullet donuts is where most development time was spent during tests:)
Unfortunately, bad things could happen during a game jam and you should not feel bad for that. This is supposed to be a positive experience, so don’t worry if you didn’t manage to make something bigger or more complex, you have gained experience even from this. And believe me when I say that I can imagine how you’ve felt and that’s not worth it.
That being said, considering that you’ve made this game in only 4 hours is a big accomplishment by itself! Good job!
Thank you, well, after seeing all that feedback I felt much better - finishing games is great:) Also I got a lot of experience in terms of feature creep and "how not to do backups"
This is solid for only 4 hours of work! I really enjoy the simple controls and I think it fit the theme really well ^^
Fun game and very surprised when I found out it was made in 4hrs. I could never! great entry and hope to see more in the future!
It's a shame you only had 4 hours 'cause what you have done here is great. I'd love to play this with more complicated levels and a scrolling map. It is Juicy as it is and that leaves a lot of fun to find in the future. I'd play a fuller version of this.
I loved the idea on this one, I think the particle effects are really pretty and for four hours of work this is really good. I wasn't sure if it was just me but I had no sound, maybe there was none or maybe it's my speakers they have been playing up so anything quite doesn't come through well. But this was really amazing great job.
Awesome. You really pulled it out of the bag in 4 hours. Great concept, brilliantly executed. The striking and simplistic art style is a strength, as is the concept and gameplay. Obviously the sound could be improved, but as a game, this is great. I'd love for scoring to be added. Please consider this request a bug report, and 'polish' a high score feature in there, because I could definitely sink a lot more time into this.
Thanks for sharing, and WELL DONE for pulling this together in only 4 hours. I'm really glad I got to play it :)
Wow, thank you a lot. To be honest - I really appreciate all that feedback, because this project literally withered me. And it is refreshing to see that I made someones day better
Speaking of sound - yep, it could be improved, or you know, added, haha
"Bug report" is great, but no-no-no, sorry) "Polishing" does not allow adding new mechanics, so I will keep it until jam ends:))))
I'm not really a big fan of the game maniability and I often end up killed in the corners but the idea is really fun !
While from the sound of the description it seems like the jam didn't go quite to plan for you, I think the end project is a fun one!
It's a interesting example of how a small change can make a big difference in how a game is played. Asteroids where you fire backwards means you have to approach shooting enemies completely differently.
I kept getting tempted to wedge myself in a corner which inevitably got me killed. Graphics were simple but elegant, and more than got the job done.
Nice one!
Thank you a lot, this is warming
For me most impactful change was removal of forward/backward movement and using only knockback from shooting to move around. And Im really glad how it turned out:)
Oh, also I played your game and got lost in labirinth. Unique approach to theme and actually well polished. Great one))
Uhm, I think I can't start the game if I try to change direction and then press left mouse button. I have to restart it somehow because I cannot see the ship being controlled. During gameplay, if the ship went to the right side, I cannot see it anymore and it is harder to control it because I don't know the direction of the ship.
Would be glad to see future developments in the game :)
This is a neat mechanic and a good take on the theme. I would like to see more from this movement style. Maybe develop it more beyond the jam and see where it leads you. The art style is very neat and I can see a lot of potential in this. Well done for submitting it even though you may have more ideas yet to implement.
Huh, thank you)
Yes, I have many ideas - actually more than I can do. So this time I went with something very small. Right now Im fixing some bugs and maybe will develop it further after jam:)
Though there isn't much in the game just yet, I still found myself enjoying bouncing off the walls and leaving all the particle trails behind me. Since I noticed in the description that the game was still a work in progress, it's possible you might intend to put in things like music and such later on already, which I think would add a lot! Sound effects in particular would enhance it a lot. I also noticed that while the "roof" and "ceiling" of the level had collision, the sides didn't. Because the rocket was also very slow to turn left and right, that meant that I would often have trouble controlling the rocket, and would end up flying off screen with no way of returning.
I would love to know when you've made updates, because this seems like this could be the foundation for a cool experience!
