Thanks so much for checking out our game! And you are absolutely right: Getting the right balance in this game was hard. We've had a few friends play the game and struggle - others said it was too easy.
The UI is something we didn't really put a lot of time and effort into: Since it's our very first game, we tried our best to implement the main mechanics. But we are already adding the UI to our roadmap for our update! :) Thanks so much for your feedback.
I love the theme and the way breeze through the game. It has dark souls-ish feel since you have to start over again (which people like - others don't). It's not my cup of tea because I don't like starting from scratch everytime - but I get it.
What made it worse for me was the... red "door thing" that killed on touch in the first level since I didn't know, what went wrong. So I tried again and had to start again.
The biggest issue though is the controls - you have to hit the arrow keys perfectly to shoot diagonally. That made me backtrack to a straight wall to shoot straight.
On the positive side: The music is wonderful and the credit song is a banger. The art is great, the game feels "well programmed" - no hiccups, no technical difficulties.
Great job, cool Theme, wonderful submission. You rock dude! ♥♥
Very cool idea! Love the way you can just use your UI to defend yourself! Sometimes clicking on an element trying to drag it didn't work - would love it would be a bit faster/snappier at times to rearrange the elements provided. Or even throwing with velocity could add a nice touch. Very cool concept! Keep it up :)
Great submission! Love the music and the visuals - those zombies look cool and the tricks to add style remind me a bit of Devil May Cry! What I didn't like was the way the bullets travels. The crosshair and path dont line up so you need to adjust. What would be nice would be to add a stylish reload animation. 😁😁 Also a bit more Lighting would've helped me (but I might just suck at it lol). Good job! :)
I tried your game! And it seems fun! I liked the gameplay as a sheep a lot - what I didn't get to was the 5/5 genes correct - I got to 3/5 and then it lost me. What I didn't like was, that there was no difficulty spikes. But after around 6 tries it got repetetive. Spam 1 sheep, farm its points whenever possible for sheep 2 and so on.
Maybe add another level of difficulty, other ressources etc. Running away from the farmer was never a problem. What might help is a function to run to get away with stamina etc. so he's actually a threat.
Loved the DNA-mixer part. Added a layer of complexity. Very cool submission after all.
One thing I noticed was, that I coudln't turn the sound for the Music down - it stayed at 100% at all times.
Love the concept – took me back to my Guitar Hero days! I love a good music game, and adding a Vampire Survivors touch to it is just perfect! The game canvas is really a bit small, and controlling it was also hard – WASD to move and 1-5 simultaneously didn’t work that well for me. Basically, you have to hold still – but that kills you. Maybe leave the controls with WASD and let the player move toward the mouse cursor instead? Cool game anyways! The music and character design is also nice! 😊
Very cool submission it reminded me of CounterStrike Surfing! Robot Voice wasn't my cup of tea - but the guitar music was cool! Also loved how fluent the movement was.
Getting out of the mind of one knight was a struggle though because you had 0 orentiation - maybe look for a system to make this more "fluent".
Nice game. I love the different "bullets" you could be become. I wished for a little more diversity combining all those weapons. Felt really good to play. For me it was kinda hard telling the difference between objects and the beckground. What may seem as a background is indeed something you can collide with. Hard to notice at first. I would draw objects that you can collide with in the same blue-tone that your borders have. Great game nonetheless. Had fun :)
I think, for a prototype, this game is good. The only downside I have with this game is "playing" it - maybe I'm missed something. But I didn't get any hints on a possible solution. It seems "random" to me. Therefore I was just clicking an answer which "couldv'e made sense to me" - being wrong awards you with a very long downtime in which you can do absolutely nothing. What I would suggest is, instead of a timer make the player solve simple tasks (memory, mazes, and so on) for being wrong.
There is a lot of potential even with the notes (which to this point are kind of "useless"). I can imagine, once you have more Tasks, more Glyphs to translate, it can be one hell of a puzzle game!
Music is great too! Keep it up! :)
Love it! Aesthetic is cool, Honk Button in the Menu is fun - UI is clean. It is not even an easy game - but after a few tries teleporting and fire are needed to clear the masses of mobs to not get stuck. More enemies and skills could really make it even more fun! Also I love getting yelled at by the boss. Keep it up! :) No technical hiccups except enemies sometimes teleporting with you, when using the skill. Doesn't even feel like a prototype. Really good work.
Played your game! Found it hard to navigate at first until I played around more. I would suggest pressing and holding A/D to turn similiar. Also I found it hard to understand how ammo is regenerated.
Loved the music, simple style and controls overall. Maybe give the player more starting ammo to generate more momentum so it feels "faster".
Great work :)
Cool game! Played it all through.
Had a bug where the character would glitch thorugh the floor several times and landed back on the floor. The UI was rather big in comparison to the game itself.
I liked the visuals and simple gameplay approach you took! Upgrades feel meaningful and later on you just breeze through waves. (Range of the blue form is insanely OP) :)
Had fun! Great game! :)
