Excellent game! Very thought provoking... very cool interpretation of the theme...

Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it!

Great game! I like the decision making, I got a bit too greedy and died haha.

I like how fun this is! The later levels are really good, I like how you have to keep moving... :)

Had lots of fun with this one! Great job. I like the pixel art, ambience, and the puzzles were fun!

Excellent game! The reflection platforming was a great idea!

I only have one criticism, and that is the hit boxes; they could have been a little smaller. Felt unfair when you barely touched the red orbs and died, but all in all, I had fun playing it! :)

I enjoyed this so much... good puzzles!

So weird running into spikes to finish a level, haha. I liked it!

Love the style! Sorta reminds me of those old dos games experimenting with 3d.

As for the gameplay, I found it difficult gauging the angle and found myself undoing a lot to get it just right. All and all though, the core mechanic is great!

Hi , thanks for the feedback! I agree about the mirrors… something I should have done is shown guide lines but didn’t have time to implement. And I did notice how annoying it was when I was testing… definitely needs improvement… :)

Thanks for the feedback! It was a cool learning process and I am looking forward to doing more jams in the future. :)

thanks :)

thanks for the feedback! Yeah when I was testing it, I had some problems with the beam too. And I agree the, tedious aspects definitely needed to be optimized, but I will learn from this and grow.

Cool concept! Simple but really fun and creepy....

This is great! The transition to the dark side is cool.

Fun game! Cool concept.

sorry about that, I updated the post.

I just finished a short demo of my first horror game. This is the first section, which is about sound. Your footsteps can be heard and you must sneak to avoid detection. I was inspired by games like "The Clock Tower" and "Perishment" and wanted to try out the horror genre. This was made in the Godot 4.1 engine, with art I created in Aesprite and sounds used from freesound.org . I also made some music and sound effects with Bosca Celoil and Audacity. Hope you enjoy it!

I think the pixel art is nice. But this zoomed in view gives the player no time to see what's ahead.

For the dialogue, you should implement a key press for each box, so we can read it before it disappears.

A sword swishing sound, and clang would be good here too. To give more feedback to the player that they are swinging the sword.

I am happy to release my project that I have been working on for 10 months now.  A fast paced horizontal space shooter. But... you can flip your ship and shoot both ways. You also have a laser that acts like a sword, slicing through energy orbs! 6 stages of action, 6 unique bosses to conquer! Check out the link below...

Thanks!

Nice! Fun retro shmup!

Nice balance of enemies, enjoyable little game!

Hi all,

I've added some new things....

I created a cool warning animation that plays before boss fights. The glow effect in Godot makes it really pop. In an addition to this warning animation, I put in a checkpoint to save BEFORE the boss, so now you don't get sent back to the beginning of the stage...

I also added a Module Upgrade, that spawns 2 rotating turrets that shoot ball projectiles.

After I make all the changes to my Save system, I will continue tweaking the stages, and working on new ones...

Haven't posted in awhile, but anyway, I've changed a lot of the game. I have 5 stages now, a new ability drops called Rapid Shot (after stage 4 boss). It allows you to shoot in arc, so now you can be attacked from above as well as from the left and right.

Also, I removed the web browser version of the game, because performance wasn't very good. So you'll have to download to play.

I changed the title to "Solar Ember Rush", and updated the menus. I made a game over screen and ending screen.

controls are different too, you now control the ship with the arrow keys and shoot with Z. To flip the ship, you now press X. To switch weapons you tap S. I also updated the tutorial for this change.

other things a I did is change the upgrade system, you can get 3 upgrades, and one permanent upgrade after defeating the stage 4 boss. If you die, you lose upgrades and have to start over.

Game over now sends you back to Stage 1.

Any feedback is appreciated, since I am learning as I am going. Let me know if its to easy, I find I might have to amp up the difficulty...

thanks for playing!  link below

Love the look of your game. When I got to stage 6, I got wrecked! I like the idea of creating a formation of different ships to attack, defend or heal. Cool idea.

Cute game so far. I like the bullet hell, mixed with the Vampire Survivor esque gameplay.  Having fun with it!

Hi, I just updated my bosses so they show damage when they switch to the next phase. Added some smoke particles and flickering lights.

- i tweaked the second boss to be a little easier.

I also made a new music track for level 2

- i will be tweaking the HP bar, so when you defeat a boss you gain a life etc.

Link of the game is in a previous post...  more updates to come and any feedback is great!

Just have 2 levels so far of a horizontal shmup. I improved the bosses in the last week to go through phases as they lose health. I also updated the music. For my next project, I am going to show damage of the bosses ship hull, as it goes down in health.

Created in Godot 4.1

Any kind of feedback, suggestions is much appreciated!

Cheers!

Great game! Super fun.

Good game. Block breaker rogue like, cool idea.

Hard as nails, but I like it! A parry timer would be nice, audio and visual queue or something. Love the art and animations!

Fun game. Like the ideas and game design.

Cool pixel art. Like the lighting effects...quirky npcs and dialogue.... interested in playing more.

Hey, just one thing, change the camera. It feels like its inverted on the x-axis. If I move my mouse right, the camera should point to the right not left. I felt really disoriented trying to look where i was going lol.  Other than that, really like the graphics and destructible environments.

Cool stuff.

Lol I figured it out. I just didn't see the prompt. Will play through...

Hi, I tried out your game, but I don't know what the interact button is? How do you get through the doors after you leave the ship?

Looks interesting btw.

Hi. I just finished a big chunk of my game, and only have 2 more levels to go. I just wanted to share what I have created so far.

This is 1 year of game development on the Godot Engine, which I have learned to use through tutorials from the great Godot community.

Description: You are a coal-powered robot that must find coal to stay alive. Go through 13 levels, find upgrades to get past obstacles, and learn about this post-apocalyptic world!

The game is free to play and has xbox, ps4 and keyboard controller support.

Any feedback is much appreciated. Hope you enjoy it!

Nice! Thank you for playing my little game.
