it likely will when it's out of early access!

you have to get the legendary ending for jiyel and arland if you want avalie's epilogue/bonus!

it could be a relationships thing or an approval thing! also every skill greater than 75 will give you bonus points, same with every knowledge over 50 (or 25, in the case of secrets)

as for relationships i think you need high friendship + respect + romance with as many people as possible + little to no rivalry + high kingdom faction approval - my recommendation is to host events both weeks and generally go on as many dates as your skills/personality will let you pass

Also Cordelia's and Penelope's invitations in week five don't take up a time slot!

There are three political marriage "events" in total!

the fact that you're super successful may even be the problem, apparently if you're not succeeding at everything the weeke 6 assassin doesn't even show up!

I think that might be part of the revamped GUI plan? (Nameable save files are a thing in Long Live The Queen and they would be SO useful here 😭)

This is not a bug, more of a...realism thing? Representation quibble, I guess? It's specifically about Dowager Countess Yvette and her wheelchair use.

She's in a manual chair (I mean, I assume), but we never really see any mentions of her having a nurse or an attendant (isle native or otherwise) to help push her -  she can navigate on her own to a certain extent, but she's an elderly woman with limited reserves of energy and she also has to, presumably, navigate stairs as well as less forgiving surfaces like the fields outside the castle. They don't need a sprite or anything, but a mention of some kind of support worker character accompanying Yvette would probably be appreciated by a lot of players.

Yeah, I'm hoping the final GUI of the game has the text in the same sans-serif font as the stats section (with an option to change it to something like OpenDyslexic or something).

I also think certain interactions could benefit from being broken up into more slides? Stuff with massive chunks of text like the conversation on Lyon's first date tends to overflow the box/dominate the screen - and I'm using one of the smaller fonts, so I can't imagine what it's like in the big round one!

I got it too with no rivalry, not sure why

I don't have exact math, but in my experience characters whose persuasion is high enough at that point (without actively working at it) have generally started with 75 manipulation to begin with? Even something like 475 would be much more achievable, especially with some of the NG+ bonuses 😭

i'm pretty positive you can't start off indifferent? only neutral, from what i remember

After the trial, between Gisette and the RO (Ana) appearing:

Hamin's date is supposed to give you +10 streetsmarts if you choose not to compromise, correct? I only came away with 5, and I'm pretty positive I passed...

Oh, this is VERY interesting...

Thank you, Aly! Just a point of clarification - does this mean the flag triggers with 500 persuasion only? Or is it possible to trigger the flag with 75+ manip but less than 500 persuasion?

Those are the secret origins, they'll be available to play once the game is out of early access!

Jarrod exists, first and foremost, as commentary on misogyny and romanticization of abuse in the genre, which means that any indication that your love for him is capable of changing him undermines the character's reason for existing in the first place. (I specify "your love for him" because outside of physical attraction or the thrill of the chase, I just don't get the feeling he actually likes MC all that much?) He also, frankly, lacks the self-awareness to reflect on the possibility of change as necessary; why would he, if he already gets everything he wants? (Gisette, whatever her other flaws, does not have this problem.)

Edited for formatting/minor rewording.

I assume it's different on every route (if you're on her path she explains it's because she didn't know how to deal with her Feelings™️ for you, and presumably once we have the rebel origin playable there will be a very obvious reason why), but otherwise this never gets explained and I'm really curious about it!!

Guess who's back? It's me!

Part 2: Woodly and Woodly Jr.

Woodly previously attended the summit - he's 37, so the youngest he could have attended (based on an Aly ask that states that delegates are meant to be single and their age range is generally ~18-30) is 23. If Woodly attended the summit at 23 and had a son, the eldest that son would be, in the present day, is 14...which seems a little young to have been courting the Tomboy Countess (and has her potentially almost grievously injuring a child)? Honestly this could just be fixed by swapping the word "son" with nephew and "father" with "uncle", it's an easy fix

Notes from the Countess route:

- Got a "since jasper is mysteriously busy, you won't find anything in your room today" dialogue after failing my date with Jarrod (with the "my sincere apologies" line)

- "you have found a small hidden laundry shoot" - should be "chute"

- Lady Petunia is referred to as "Lady Pentution" in the countess' "clear your name" epilogue

Which guides are these? The rebel origin hasn't been written yet (nor have the other two secret backgrounds). Is it possible you're confusing it with pursuing the rebel secret chain?

playing as revaire!mc or romancing/marrying an LI from revaire do both require you to find out about (and take a side in) the revaire conflict!

The EA guide only lists 50 courage or 75 manipulation, the Wikia is out of date and inaccurate in certain respects - I've been playing this game since 2015 and I've never passed with poise that I can remember ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nope, it's only 50 courage or 75 manipulation - the reward for passing the date is poise which I think may be where the confusion comes from?

(1 edit)

I was playing last night and romanced Jasper - I got the "peace has ended" dialogue about the Isle* but the dialogues about my PC's life after the end of the summit extensively referenced the summits continuing? I also got lines about how I was never really sure what he did even though I unlocked the historian chain?

EDIT: my marriage/romance status was also listed as "Single by choice" and "Uninterested in romance" the whole time which was weird given that I was actively pining for my butler?

*legendary endings for Corval/Hise and Wellin/Skalt, good ending for Revaire ft. the royals stepping down fully, what I assume must have been the "peace" ending for Jiyel because I didn't ally with Avalie or talk down Cato (passing a 500 persuasion + 75 manip test being the only way to trigger the Jiyel peace flag feels overly punishing, honestly, I feel like it's only going to be passed by PCs who were already succeeding at everything anyhow, but that's out of the realm of bug testing at this point)

From looking at the guide you get 7 "host social" just for hosting in the first place and then +2 (or 1, or 0, or -1) for each kingdom depending on your nation approval, and the total host social check is supposed to be 13 or higher - I don't have screenshots or exact number values or anything but four out of seven kingdoms were definitely at max approval (which should have meant +8) and I'm pretty sure all of them were past the halfway mark?

I also had 300+ likeability for the check beforehand, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While hosting the ball I wasn't able to persuade people to peace in spite of having high enough persuasion to hit the check? 80 eloquence + 85 leadership + 85 charisma + 35 manipulation + 60 poise + 105 insight is 450 exactly, so either the guide needs to be updated or the check isn't functioning as it should...

in the complete EA guide (link in guides and resources) there's a guide to what choices/unlocks raise manipulation!

Wait, I've sold out the rebels without earning Sayra's trust before, are we not supposed to be able to do that?

seconding the request to have plaintext versions of the letters toggleable in the final GUI! (in the meantime, the letters up to week four have been transcribed in the extended EA version of the guide)

also requesting a log page (example) the ability to read back past dialogue would be really helpful!

The secret backgrounds all have specific nations assigned to them, they're listed in the booklet! (I once had a dream of the Rebel Leader being a refugee living in Hise and coming to the Isle to do some Count of Monte Cristo nonsense but alas, it was not to be)

just want to shout out aza here for their dedication to quality assurance!

jarrod is likely expecting the matchmaker to announce himself and mc as a love match? idk

In my opinion, boosts should be focused on making building relationships easier - I think that after having achieved all the NG+ bonuses we should be able to start with, collectively:

  • +25 People (to be able to pass Zarad's date)
  • +25 Intelligence (to be able to pass Lyon's date)
  • potentially +25 Courage (whether for Jarrod reasons, Jasper romance reasons, or passing the self-intros)

I also love whoever on Tumblr suggested a +50 gold bonus for picking out all the best presents for people, the lack of money can really be a killer sometimes (please, my Scholar and Countess are dying...well just the Scholar but)

Other achievement bonus ideas I wrote down earlier:

"Marvelously Misjudged" achievement: +5 charisma

"A Dangerous Secret" achievement: +5 cunning

"Holey Investion [sic]" achievement: +5 warfare

"The Lady, The Legend" achievement: +5 charm

"Birthright" achievement: +5 courage

"Water Wears Stone" achievement: +5 poise

"No Hallway Unlurked" achievement: +5 street smarts

Corval-Hise Legendary Peace: +10 Cunning

Wellin-Skalt Legendary Peace: +10 Practical

Jiyel-Arland Legendary Peace: +10 History

Revaire-Rebels Legendary Peace: +10 Politics

Also, this seems like a long shot, but I thought I'd throw it out there:

Katiya's Legacy/Golden Ending: +5 to every skill

100% Bonus/seeing all content in the game: +5 to every knowledge (minus secrets)

are you friends with zarad? you can receive a perfect acquittal without warfare if you have him to tell you the method of murder

this guide has a very specific walkthrough (in the week 7 tab) to choosing all the correct answers in your gisette convo, i'd also recommend looking in the guides and resources thread if you're struggling with something

Yeah, it'd make sense if this wasn't the one same-kingdom political marriage that wasn't blocked given that the kingdom Revaire has to make peace with is...itself? (But it may be that this is blocked altogether, or blocked unless you're on Gisette's path, I can live with that.)

(1 edit)

Is Jarrod's political marriage route locked for the widow? I had all the other requirements (75 beauty, 60 poise, immoral, less than 15 rivalry - I'd even managed to talk him down after rejecting him the first time) and I don't think it's a bug, but I wanted to make sure

The Matchmaker is extremely clear about what to expect from Jarrod and his route. There's a reason why she tells you not to romance him!
