You were alone, made all art and sound during the jam and created dozens of levels introducing new mechanics all the way AND it worked without any bugs or glitches - you must be a god.

The cat is actually too fat to push less than two buttons at the same time :/ Didn't managed to get the ship working again (if that's possible?). The idea is 10/10 though!

Maybe something isn't working right: for me the game is a random generated map with a few rooms, maybe one enemy and some doors leading into the abyss... Nevertheless, it's very atmospheric. Maybe less light would have made it even... darker?

Cool idea for the theme! It was a bit too easy to extinguish the fire and the familiar failed to set new ones. After that dodging the fireballs as only objective was too easy. If the game worked, a score would have been very cool and finally a simple switch back to the menu scene for example, would have been great too. The art looked very good though!

I played one round, after that I didn't find another opponent. It was fun, but I didn't get the mechanic with the out of control bar which everyone can activate, which is a very good idea. I thought it was just a dash which is meant to knock the enemy of the platform. For a game which you'll probably play just one or two rounds, if even (because you need to be very lucky to find an opponent) it would've probably been a wise decision to explain it not just on your games page. Also some particle feedback for hitting the enemy would have been very rewarding to the player I guess.

Did you play the game with sound? The narrator tells you the right keys most times. I think making the key changes predictable would make the game much less fun and less theme-fitting. But thanks for the feedback nevertheless! In the end it doesn't matter what the developer thinks about his game, but what the players think :)

I don't get it. On the right side are the enemys cards? But it doesn't fit with the "snails plan" above, even before I mess around with it... Or am I completely dumb? help :c

For some reason I cant buy anything but soldiers. The game itself is fun although it's pretty hard without having barracks I guess. So I only lasted two levels after the tutorial. Also you have to quit and restart the complete game by yourself, if you die, because the enemy soldiers just keep disfiguring your corpse lol

The ball is not really out of control. Maybe you could've made his reflection angle random or let him turn direction half way or such stuff. Then it would have been out of control. After some time my paddle actually loses control, the ball becomes really slow aswell as the oponent which makes me win after a few seconds. Hm...

I liked that. Easy, but well executed and actually fun!

Same here, pls help!

OMG that's brilliant! Simple but soo much fun, perfectly fitting the theme and the music was the best you could choose for this too!

Thanks for noticing all that subtile decisions :D

Great idea, but the second and third chapters are nearly similar and also the first and fourth, in control, while the levels were always the same. One of that needed to make more extreme changes in my opinion, for example malfunction in the vertical way or changing all keys instead of just left and right.

Very funny idea! Is there a way you can win this by thinking or is it just random in which order you need to select the different "distraction-tools". I also expected more than a winning text, after bringing the saint out of control :D

It's actually the exact opposite of the theme "OUT OF CONTROL", which is of course also a possible interpretation. I like the idea and art style pretty much. At level 5 - I guess - I stopped playing, because I fell to fast for actually noticing where I have to move left and right to not land on spikes. Maybe it would have been an idea to add a third parameter like time or gravity, so you could let the game run in slow motion - but maybe this would've made it too easy then.

That's how I personally like games to be: better 5 minutes with 10/10 fun than 10 minutes with 5/10 fun xD because time is money and stuff...

That's nice to hear! Can you give some examples of some other changing-keys-platformers (as link or just the name)? Would love to check out, how other people worked with that idea.

You actually don't need a key pad. All you need are the standard letters, arrow keys and space - and of course an open ear for the dev which tells you the right keys most times. Maybe you can give it another try :) Nevertheless, thanks for the feedback!

Could not play the game because it's not available for Windows or in browser, sorry.

Yeah, no problem!

Hey, thanks for the feedback! In the end the dev says "everything is wor-" (-king again), but actually it's not and the game just decides to quit itself. Maybe I didn't made that clear enough, yeah.

That's the third game I have the following problem with and I think it's THE problem people have when making a game in which you have no control: giving the player the feel to effect something.

Help, I can't find my mouse pointer! This game is amazing! It adapts the theme perfectly and the music makes it complete, even if not selfmade. In some levels it felt more like a simulator than like an actual game in which your action effects something. But I guess it's difficult to balance between no control and just enough control to make the guy in front of the screen feeling useful xD

Very polished game, good job! The gameplay itself is fun too, but you can't really predict in which the direction the asteroid will be reflected, so it's mostly getting the asteroid laying on the platform and then bringing it to earth. And with the portals you can just place one at the planet and the other one at the asteroid to win without even pressing "launch" xD

The ship is shooting much to slow for my liking. But the overall idea of a ship losing control by getting damaged is very nice!

The only button working in the main menu seems to be the exit button? Or am I doing something wrong?

Ha! Thanks for the feedback :D

100% epic! With some music, water, and firesounds: 1000% epic for sure!

Who can beat my highscore?

Nice 'n' easy! With a bit more atmospheric music you probably could've get the mood of "lost in space" better, if that was your plan. I also didn't really felt like actually effecting something with boosting / not boosting after the first and second area.

I especially like the sound :D The idea is nice - I haven't played Baba is you, but I get the reference xD To make it more puzzely and the controls easier, I would've made Bob a bit slower.

The game doesn't explain how it works. The game mechanic of pushing that balls at the angels is nice, but you don't really see, if you hit something or not. Some feedback would make it much more fun I think.

This movement is super weird, but super great xD You could've explained that you have kinda infinite jumps and how it works. I just randomly discovered by clicking all keys at the same time xD Also you could've made it a bit easier. It's always a good idea, especially for a game jam, to get sure everyone can get to the end of your game, because otherwise 80% won't see the complete game and can't rate it properly.

(1 edit)

Relevance to the theme.... naaah... ok :D The controls are a bit strange although you explain them in a very well made tutorial part. You can't really stop the character moving and this makes the game very hard.

Thats a really good game. It's clear what to reach, what to avoid and swapping abilities is a nice feature. You could've made it more clear, when the abilities actually change, like with a big warning text in the middle or so.

So can I reach the station, or not? After a few minutes you just keep tapping the same buttons and nothing seems to change. At least not because you did something right or wrong. Maybe a little text field which always shows the meters to the station would've been more motivating, than getting a seemingly random number at the end of each day. Nevertheless I liked the idea and the simple design :)

It's not much, but what is already there, is fun. The response effect for killing a bug is a bit weird :)

I liked the graphics and the music pitched higher every level, but I didn't knew what to do but running through that portal again and again while shooting these blue and white bullets at the snakes.

Nice little game. I think you should've spend some more time in level design or the enemies movement. In the first world you can pretty much ignore them, while only the 3rd level (at least for me) was really difficult, probably because you need to walk the whole way back and so inevitably meet them again but now they're in your way.
