Group 7:

Love the look of the game. The controls feel a little weird (can't move diagonally), but I like the story concept. I wish more people did puzzle games like this one for the game jam.

- Michael

Group 7: I like how big and fleshed out the map is, but a lot of the mechanics feel a bit clunky. Some of the guns don't seem to work, and I'm not sure how to use the item pickups.

I like the look of the game, but I'm not really sure how it's supposed to work. It's also hard to tell the avatar away from the enemies, since they have the same sprite and animations.

Pretty fun game, I just wish the car was a bit more natural to control. It felt like I was driving on ice most of the time. I love the look and feel of the game otherwise, though. - Michael

Group 7:  I like the concept of being immortal and trying to find a way to die, instead of the other way around. The game looks great, but I wish jumping had a variable height, and some of the game mechanics weren't very obvious at first. - Michael

Group 7:

Very fun game. My only complaint is that it gets pretty easy once you get more and towers, I think some more powerful enemies could be added at the later stages to balance it out. - Michael

Doesn't work on itch.io, but I really liked the aesthetic of this one and the fast pace felt nice.

Car seems pretty crazy to me, it could use a more fleshed-out map and more items, though.

Group 8: Frame rate was kind of iffy due to world size but I really liked how big the map was and how the movement felt. Good job!

Group 8: Camera view seems to flip upside down somewhat randomly. I like this one a lot, I think some camera smoothing would really seal the deal. The powerups and planet models were super cool. Nice job!

Play button doesn't do anything. I like the aesthetic though.

Unable to play because of an error at startup: "Failed loading file 'CSC361 Project 3.pck'"

Group 8: Looks like the game isn't set to be web-playable. Can't really rate the game.

Not sure what the powerups do, but I loved the sound effects, especially the enemy death one. I could actually jump while sprinting, but I couldn't move and look around at the same time . The movement felt a little awkward on the platforms, due to the player sliding off the edge (maybe because the hitbox was a capsule shape?). This was definitely my most favorite game so far.

Sixth sense is a little confusing, but I enjoyed the sound effects and music. The concept is interesting and it would be nice to see an end goal of sorts.

When I tried running this game it froze my laptop entirely and I had to reboot it. Not sure why that happened. On the lab PC it works, but it seems like a lot of things are broken, hence the name. I'm not sure how much of the broken-ness is due to the export process, because I experienced something similar. I like the concept, though.

G6: I definitely had the most fun playing this game. I like how big the level is, though it did feel a bit easy to get lost. It wasn't very obvious what direction to go in, unlike a typical side-scroller. I'm also not sure why mario turned into an among us character but I'm not complaining, either. Nice game!

Not sure why my comment didn't save on here so I'm reposting it.

G6: I didn't like how you can't move while jumping, but I like the art and sound effects. The music is pretty good too. However, I felt like the movement was way too slow, and I'm not sure what the powerups are supposed to do.

I like how trippy the game is, and the cat character is cute. The movement is probably one of the best out of all the games on here. I'm not sure what the power-ups are for, though.

G6: I like the look of the game, but I have no clue how to reach some of the eggs. The music and art were very nice, but the invisible walls were kind of off-putting.

G6: I like the look of this game! It reminds me a lot of Pokemon on the Gameboy. I think the map should have more obvious borders instead of just invisible walls, though.

G6: I like the art direction of the game, feels very moody. Having a consistent look tends to go overlooked, and I can tell you guys kept it in mind. However, I'm not a big fan of the movement. It feels too slow, and I was really confused at first until I realized you couldn't jump while moving.

G6: Love the artistic direction of the game, all of the assets fit together nicely. The color palette is beautiful as well. I think the movement could feel a bit snappier, and the lantern texture is blurry while the others are sharp, at least on my machine. The player is a bit too far down on the screen, it would feel a bit nicer if he was in the center.

G6: I like the music, -1 star for missing some sound effects though. Some of the sprites didn't really fit well together, and I didn't like the physics very much. Aside from the low gravity, there's no way to control the height of the jump, which makes precise movement difficult. I like how big the map is -- on our game we focused on more of a small, but detailed map.

G6: I also experienced some issues with the controls, and I thought that the physics felt a bit too floaty. It made platforming pretty difficult, but in a frustrating way instead of a fun way. However, I really like the look of the game and the concept of having multiple classes for the player. The UI is pretty good looking and fits the game too well,  but I think it can take up more screen space to make it more obvious that it's there. Well done!
