Cheers! Yeah the controls would have to be reconsidered. I think it shouldn't be fully physical, and we need to control the final steps of the placement (making sure that pieces fit in an actual satisfying way).
We have some ideas to make it a bit more puzzly. Having pieces that are interlocked and in your way, so you have to figure out the right order of solving things as well.
Possibly the use of tools to nudge/force pieces into a joint (a wooden hammer and connecting plugs). There's a lot to be explored here. Maybe even making cuts and crafting your own pieces as a solution.
I don't think that matters much. You can certainly do something your own here. This is why I was recommending to check them out, so you can see what's been done and what hasn't.
I really like the ever-flowing nature of Concrete Jungle. What I don't like is how you can't really have much of a strategy, because you can only see so many tiles ahead. I don't know if the "random piece selection" takes into account the possibility of solving situations. So you can easily get yourself into a situation where you can't win, and it wasn't because you made a bad decision, you just didn't have enough information.
Just some thoughts on what needs solving around this dilemma if you want a strategic and more satisfying experience.
