Really neat little game! It's hard to convey everything with Pico-8 but I think you did a great job on the art.
I'd love if you could build over something at some penalty. It could potentially open up more game play I think.
Great job, congrats on submitting!
Thank you, I'm glad you think so! That's a great suggestion, too!
I like the music and gameplay concept. I had a bit of a problem with how visually noisy everything is which made it a bit hard to look at.
Thanks! That's fair, trying to convey meaning without noise is definitely something I struggled with for this; I'm only partially happy with the solutions that I ended up with.
Fun game. Very simple. I like the art and music as well. It gave me a very pleasant vibe while playing it.
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it! :)
This is a really cool concept wrapped in impeccable polish, honestly I'd buy this on steam or as a phone app right now. Perfect 2 minute time waster and really addictive, kudos to you!
Thank you very much, that's very kind of you! :)
Very nice game. Really tight, there is very little I could see improved. It's small but it really is a complete game.
It would be nice if there were some way to restart the level or jump to the home screen since so much of the game is dependent on raw luck. Bad pond placement can doom you. Or maybe some way to smooth out the luck a little bit. Maybe the ability to save a piece for later? Maybe just putting the ponds in nicer locations most the time? But I played far too much anyway. After a lot of runs I finally got some really good luck and wound up with a high score of 52.
When I realized that the two ponds could spawn in the same place I got back onto the grid and got my score up to 56. I think I may have played this too much at this point.
I can't adequately express my appreciation at you putting this much time into my game! I agree with all your suggestions. I'm really touched, you're amazing, thank you so much for spending this much time on it - yours is the highest score by far!
I really enjoyed this game! It was a lot of fun trying to beat my high score, and the art and music were great!
Thank you for all the kind words! :)
This is cool, an interesting tetris x city-builder mashup, a pretty fun little puzzle game. Nice work!
Thank you very much! :)
Nice one! Quite enjoyable for a small experience. Those damn ponds are super annoying! For more inspiration, I recommend checking out Queendomino (board game), or Concrete Jungle (video game).
Great and cute game. It's a shame the game is so short cause I really want to keep playing and grow my city bigger.
Thank you very much! I'd also be interested to scale it up to a bigger board, with more complexity :)
Short, simple, and sweet. Basically the perfect game jam game. I did keep getting the rotate and place buttons mixed up, but I have no idea why. Would definitely be interesting as a more built out game, though I have no idea if you would need to move away from pico-8 for that.
Thank you! I'd definitely be interested in expanding it, or doing something like it, on a bigger scale in the future :)
Well done. Loved the art and the music. Also it's the first pico-8 game I've seen in this jam which is dope. Well done.
Thanks for the kind words mate! :)
Very simple but very clever concept and a niec presentation (gotta love dem pico-8 games), I think the game could be a lot better with more gameplay mechanics and a little bit more variety in the tiles and maybe a little bit more space (it might not be possible on pico-8 though)
Overall very well put together
Thanks very much! I agree, I'd be interested in expanding something like this to a greater scope in the future :)
The presentation is very nice. I like the art and music. My best score was 34.
Thanks for the kind words! :)
I really enjoyed it! 44 seems like the best I can do. This seems like a great idea worth more exploration!
Thank you! You're the new highest score that I know of :)
It's a fun game that works really well for a gamejam, and the presentation is excellent.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you think so! :)
This game was really good! It's very reminiscent of older mobile puzzle games that were just simple quick fun, and I played it a couple times to try and get a high score. My only real complaint here is the blinking for the tiles you're about to place. It's too fast and hurts my eyes a lot.
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, I wish I had that feedback a bit earlier in development, it wouldn't have been too much trouble to adjust that blinking speed, and it would have made some people happier.
Lovely style!!
I like the quick gameplay.
Thanks very much! I wanted to see if we could make satisfying play sessions of around a minute :)
Nice game ! a good mixt between tetris and a city builder.
Thank you! Those were definitely in mind during development :)
Nice implementation of a classic genre :) Lakes add a nice twist, and next piece is quite useful. Great job on theming (Love the retro boot screen!)
Thank you! I can't take credit for the retro boot screen, though, that's just part of it being a Pico-8 production :)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you're noticing all the bits I put thought into!
