Unfortunately, all things in this list were supposed to be adressed, but I ended up having way less time to program than we planned, so we had to downscope and simplify everything

I have no excuse for the slightly too large hitboxes, I noticed once while playtesting a hit was slightly off, but I forgot to ever change it lol

But yk what, I'll add that you can press "Enter" to skip dialogue to the game description, unfortunately I didn't get that quite finished either and it's a tad weird visually, but it's fine

No specific element in this game is particularly high tier, yet looking at what I rated it, this is the highest rating I've given all Jam

The game is so simple and short, yet its depth compares games like Firewatch, the way you managed to convey these emotions with such simple elements is mind blowing and something I wish I could match

Awesome game, truly one deserving of a place in the top ranks

Awesome concept and I love the art of Umay

Though I should add: I had to mess with my keyboard to find the Interact button E, and I didn't know I could dash until I searched for controls in the description, I think these things should be noted in-game, for exaple as just simple text pop-ups at the start

The voice overs are really cool and something I always wanna put in my games (but never do lol)

And after many years, your house is being emptied, your granddaughter looks through your old books to see if there's anything of interest... and there it is

A whisper

Playing this game as clearly intended was peak gameplay

The 5 minutes I spent on this webpage holding the button were, without a doubt, the greatest 5 minutes of my life

I've reconnected with both myself, the world, and reality itself, life past playing this game is uncomparable with the life I lead up to it, which is now merely a distant memory of a time of lesser love, truth and beauty

Awesome atmosphere and cool mechanics

Fun little arcade game, nice atmosphere

Glad you enjoyed! :D

When we realised we needed a combat scene, Undertale delivered a quick and easy to code inspiration indeed :P

(It was supposed to be slightly more different with the mouse controlling the soul, but I couldn't figure out a very seemless way to do that, that would also work on web)

Glad you enjoyed! :D

The eyebats are pretty tough indeed, I wanted a greater challenge for people who find the other combats too easy, cuz last Jam I noticed the commenters had a big divide in what they found hard/easy

Glad you enjoyed!

For testing I implemented that you can skip dialogue by pressing [enter] but it creates some weird visual artefacts so I decided to not notify the player

The load time is indeed the browser version, I'm not sure what causes it :/

My man ADT you've really outdone yourself!

The quality of this game is top tier, it's got a tutorial and everything

Had a blast playing, awesome job

> gameplay loop felt a bit forced

We were planning for more freedom, but I ended up with a lot less time then I thought I'd have :(

Glad to hear you enjoyed, and congrats on doing both runs :D

We had bigger plans but had to scope down because I (programmer) ended up having way less time than planned

Congrats and glad you enjoyed! :D

Originally bats weren't gona be random, but I didn't have time to figure out and code a pattern for them, so they're about quick reaction time now

Glad you enjoyed! :D

We were gona do 5 levels but traded some length for polish in the end, deffinitely a few things I want to fix after the jam though.

Glad you enjoyed!

I sit here rn with my gf besides me looking mad because 2 minutes ago she was going down to catbot dramatically lmao

Ty! Glad you enjoyed :D

Glad you enjoyed! :D
I'll work on the game a tiny bit more after the jam and a dialogue "I can't climb with my hands full" is on the list!

Ty & glad you enjoyed! :D

I'm thinking of adding dynamic zoom where when you come near certain things (e.g. NPCs, items), the camera will smoothly zoom in a little

Omfg there is one indeed, sorry lol, I was too distracted by the boss lacking one

Amazing experience, and this is the best 2.5D art I've ever seen!

I love how dramatic the animation is - and ofc we both know that platformers with 3 levels with the last one being a bossfight are the best!

The one thing I think this is missing is a damage sound for the player and the boss.

Dude
We know you didn't play our game and are just copy pasting these empty comments

Be better.

Glad you enjoyed! :D

I was kinda running out of time for Catbot's AI, I ended up simply coding that he would only move to a randomly chosen place if there are no bombs there (or pick another one), and that only worked between 5 and 7 bomb ticks remaining, as that's when he had both time to move and all bombs would already be placed, so unfortunately I couldn't make his moving timed much better.

Glad you enjoyed, and ty for not overlooking the little things! :D

All the art decisions were made by PaleGhosts, I didn't request  the bot to be a cat but she made a great call indeed!

Ty, Glad you enjoyed! :D

Ty for the feedback and glad you enjoyed! :D

I might add some more stuff to the game after the Jam, including more instructional dialogue, we also ended up having to rush the background a little bit because everything we tried made it hard to see everything very clearly. I completely agree on the dialogue btw, but at the time I decided against wasting more time fixing it, and if I had to fix it in the end I wouldn't have time to edit all the text inside of them :P

Glad you enjoyed and ty for the kind words! :D

Glad you enjoyed and thank you for the feedback! :D

I've never played Captian Toad but looking at some clips, that seems to indeed be a great way to implement bossfights into a game like this! The main reason the bossfight is what it is, is because I didn't have time to design another level, but depending on how motivated I feel to expand the game, I might pick you up on the suggestion!

OH NO D:

This is very fun, underrated, good job :D

Great concept I like the mix of survival into the platformer :D

The art of this game is just awesome, really makes you feel like a powerful mech, all it's missing is a good stomping sound when you're walking!

Fun but could use some checkpoints!

Very nice calm gameplay :D

This is a great concept, love the game, would be nice to see it in a further development state :D

Too bad you didn't finish in time, would love to see where this goes! I rly like the edge-grapple mechanic, and props to you on going for the Parallax Effect background, we tried that too in our puzzle platformer! :D

Btw consider checking out my game, it's also a short puzzle platformer :P

The wall-boost mechanic's pretty cool, never seen that before :D
