How does the game fit the theme?
You're late to something, be it work, an interview or lunch, and you're driving a car equipped with jet engines to the place. Thus, when you're driving, nothing can go wrong, unless of course you want to be late.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All the SFX and music, some code snippets (e.g. cam shake, which I took from my old scripts).

How many people worked on the game?

I was about to pass this by because I was testing things on the tablet and it failed me, but I loved the look so moved to PC... "what's wrong with this game, I attached the engines... now what??"
I would not be bested... I downloaded to make sure it was broken.  Turns out I was having a PICNIC (problem in chair not in computer)!
Had to hit the space bar to advance lol... this is amazing!!!  Great job  =)

I had a lot of fun playing this! The controls felt really smooth, and I thought the in-game tutorial at the start was a nice addition

Love the dialogue too!

This is great fun! I got so uncontrollable in the end, lol.

really cool game! a sell system for rockets would be cool.

Got hooked on this enough to buy the last jet upgrade - very funny to have it be so uncontrolable. Really enjoyed the micro machines style driving, nice work!

The driving felt really smooth which was great. Liked it alot, as some others have said possibly some obstacles on the roads would be good for later levels. Nice work!

I feel like the main gameplay loop, could have used a bit more... spice. You know like random obsticles on the track or engines that only activate periodicly and give you one big boost, and other simullar stuff, also crashing doesn't really feel that imactfull maybe it could take half a second or so from the time limit so you're actually encouraged to not touch them once you have fuck ton of engines. But I guess you didn't have enough time.

Developer

Yea, time was definitely a huge constraint. I did initially plan for the quantum to be an unstable engine, aka it'll vanish and reappear randomly, but well... yea, no time. And yea cutting from the time limit is a good idea that idk why I didn't think of lol. Anyways thanks for the feedback!

(also when are you gonna get to day 100 and get a sub-10 run :v)

I think gameplay wise this game is great. Racing feels very smooth and it's somewhat mesmerizing. I imagine the time frame of the jam made it difficult but map variety would've made it more interesting in the long term. Very fun though. Enjoyed all the little "Oh god Im late" dialogs.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I did make a few maps, about 4 in total. But those were like kinda similar in shapes and of course, too little. I would've definitely added more if I had the time to. Thanks for the feedback tho!
