I love the visual design and perspective of this game. The combat is not bad either although the depth makes it hard to judge your sword range vs the wolves'. I think others have commented about the audio needing some sfx and that would help although I'm impressed by what's there for music and the desolate ambience at the end.
The story is...a little all over the place but it seems like it's tackling cool concepts. A bit of direction on where to go would help. I though the little light ball was that at the beginning but it didn't seem to lead to anywhere specific and then disappeared after a bit. Overall really cool though, would love to play a full version.
Such an interesting art style. The music fits really well too. It was intriguing and mysterious.
Recommendations (these are not criticisms):
- Pick a font that fits the art style better.
- The invisible wall is jarring, consider using an actual wall. Or just some indication of what can be traversed.
- It's not clear how and why combat begins and ends. It felt random. I just ended up running along the path, which was an easy way to evade the many enemies. I'd recommend actual confined combat areas.
- Difficult to gauge progression. It's very easy to get lost. I often thought I was going backwards since everywhere looks exactly the same. Something as simple as a compass would help.
- I got the end screen (to be continued), but the story didn't really make sense to me. It felt like I was missing a lot. Maybe consider a mini-story for jam games. Like an introduction to the world, rather than the middle.
Overall, a great experience.
Amazing experience, and this is the best 2.5D art I've ever seen!
this might be the best experience ive had playing jam games in this jam. really good job.
some things need a bit of refinement, the writing felt a little too wordy sometimes (only a little) but overall i just loved this...
I have never seen anything like this before you’re so creative.
one of the more visually striking entries i've seen so far!! super atmospheric and spoopy :D
really good art, would like to have more direction tho. Super duper solid
Nice game! Liked the way you applied the jam theme, and the gameplay is very good as well.
cool game about chasing a glowing ball and slaying wolves!
Man the visuals are so stunning!! Awesome story the sound effects was so good too!
Great work guys!!
That is something cool to see!
Visually very pleasing, I really like vfx and those two states of the game.
Also, there are plenty lore nuances Atmosphere also is nice and creepy.
I liked the art style and basic attack animation a lot.
The little interspersed story beats that without any input from the player was a bit jarring.
Now that was an interesting game! The art and atmosphere, audio, attacks, all that great pixel art, that's all really good! Little bit confusing on direction, just kept following the path and assuming I was going the right way, but it didn't detract from the gameplay! Also story-wise, pretty dark feeling, but right up my alley~!
i loved the art and the atmosphere is perfect! i'd love to know more about the characters and world just from the feeling. I liked the combat a lot, but found a little overwhelming being always surrounded by enemies, some more feedback from what each of my attacks do could help!
Thank you very much!
The story and atmosphere is something that I really want to develop in the stories and games that I work.
Wasn't sure where to go at first. The fighting was fun, interesting style :)
The confusion of the game was intentional to immerse in the atmosphere of the story (despite not being too clear in the game)
But makes me happy to see you liked the comment! :^)
Love the 2.5 D graphics and the attack system is really cool, but i felt like the gameplay was a little bit flat and it was hard to understand what had to be done.
I see, sorry that the gameplay wasn't featuring much stuff-
But thank you for the feedback (And I also love 2.5D graphics!)
This is suprisingly well done, i love it, the beggining cutscene takes a bit too long, and not being able to look up and down is a bit of a downside but overall very well done.
8.5/10 :>
Thank you very much!
I didn't cared about the camera too much, so this is my fault :(
But makes me happy to see that you enjoyed the game despite this!
I love that spooky retro atmosphere!
Me too!
That was the main reason I wanted this game to have this vibe :^)
I really liked the game!
The visual style and musical accompaniment are on the level, the idea is interesting. Great job!:3
Thank you very much!
I really like to play with this more conceptual size of the games, so makes me happy to see people enjoyed this! :^)
Liked the game idea and the story behind, Also that last boss and the music is scary, like it. Good luck!
Thanks for the playing!!
