I thought the control and game play were well done. Movement felt really good, and while I think sfx could have really helped, shooting wasn't bad either. However, the lack of a tutorial made it a little difficult to find out how to use the gun and the inclusion of sound effects could have really made this game feel polished. Seeing past that, I found it to be engaging and fun!
A List of Small Critiques:
- There was a big delay between clicking the start button and the game, making me think it had crashed (it didn't)
- Having to press F ever time I had to pick up ammo felt clunky
- I'm still not really sure what the bonfires did
- It was difficult to escape an enemy encounter without taking any damage
Aside from all that I had a good time playing, and hope more people area able to see this game!
I thought the use of the art asset was pretty cool. As was the switching from the 3d to 2d space and visa versa. But in terms of game play, I was left a little confused on what to do. I was stumped on the third stage, and couldn't find the answer to the puzzle. This may just be me being bad at games, but hope you fun during the jam!
Really cool concept! I found this game to be pretty fun and challenging with absolutely amazing pixel art! But as others have said, with a pretty rough difficulty curve. Often times, I knew the solution to the puzzle but did not have enough time to complete it (unless that was part of the puzzle). Otherwise it was an awesome and great work!
