Hey thanks for playing our game!

There are footsteps for several seconds before the eye appears to indicate there is someone approaching. I'm not sure if you had the sound too low or not but, that's the tell. The window bug has been mentioned by several people, yeah. We have plans to hopefully do a bunch of fixes and stuff in an update to the game sometime after the jam!

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for playing our game! Yeah, things aren't always clearly laid out. We're hoping to put out an update with fixes and rebalancing and other things at some point after the jam.

Oh wow, that's really high praise! Thank you so much, we're glad you enjoyed it!!!

This has gotta be my favourite game from this jam. Max ranking for theme and creativity, I don't anything else compares on those fronts. I quite literally could not think of a more in-depth and unique usage of "remnants of the Past" than this. The way you worked the mechanics in is wonderful.

Also, GOODNESS this made me sad. Reading their last words.... (the hobbies were also quite humorous) you did such a great job making those few words meaningful. Not only do I have to make them die, I have to throw around their corpses to proceed, AND delete their gravestones/last words?? All memory of them?

I want to write a fanfic about this concept. There's so much that could be done with it, even though you already did so much!

Also, the puzzles were fun and of a nice difficulty level I think. And the stuff with the files was implemented in such an interesting way!

Thank you for this amazing game! (Super cool cover art, by the way!)

Thanks for playing and for leaving this comment! Yes, a lot of issues are from the gamejam deadline. There was actually 4 seconds left when I go this completable version of the game uploaded so we quite literally didn't have more than a few seconds to spare. Based on comments here, QoL things we had to scrap for time, etc., we made a list of thins to hopefully fix/add after the gamejam at some point.

The story was also made as condensed as possible, and we didn't have time for playtesters, so these comments are honestly really helpful for knowing how to improve. Thank you again!

Yeah, the Main Menu was thrown together quick (we don't even have a cover image on itch.io, which surely hurts traction here) and the text for the memories is the way it is because of a miscommunication during development LOL

We have a list of things we'd like to do to fix it all up. Glad you enjoyed, thanks for playing and leaving a comment!

This was so much fun!! It really did feel like a complete action puzzle platformer - the level design really impressed me. Difficult but fair challenges that build upon previous ideas well. The switching between Evil and Neuro is very cool and fun to use. Movement feels clean.

My only real issue was the control bindings - it took quite  a while to get used to them well because they're in a very awkward position compared to usual platform or action games. In particular, having space be jump instead of up while having dash be shift is not intuitive for me.

Either way, I loved this! Super fun and well put together game with cute spritework! The final boss animations looked great especially to me.

I love the idea of this game! It's such a cool story concept. And the graphics are really high quality. I just wish there was more to it. I know it's a Gamejam and I saw your comment about how much more limited your time was, but it just makes it hard to judge much with so little to go off of. Still, in terms of potential, I would love to see what this game could become, especially at the end there seeing the ORDER signs with Evil Neuro on them at the end. Good atmosphere and promise!

This is pretty neat! It was really hard to get past the first screen though 'cause it kept thinking I said "Nero". Also, that ending felt sad and scary. Having to remove Hiyori. Then the screaming and begging that then went and closed the window, uh... it was simultaneously freaky and funny. This was really creative! Even if very short.

I love the aesthetic, it's so colourful and clean! The game is interesting, though I was confused even with the How To Play for a while. I definitely think it'd be more fun with other people, and am excited to hopefully see Neuro and Vedal play it eventually!

Everything is really clean, and really cute. I think the questions are a good level of difficulty. And the extra details like the cookie at the end are really nice touches that give it more personality. Fun and cute game!

Aww, okay I love that story. It's sad but fits and is nice. I just didn't gather that 'cause of the way it got kinda creepy at the end, and the title made it sound like it was actual Vedal.... but I really like that, I wanna play it again with that context. The tutel model does look like a plush honestly.

Whoaaaa, okay getting to see that is cool! Thanks for sharing that image! Yeah, some kind of visual indicator would be nice, since it's hard to tell when playing. And yeah I have no idea how I managed to knock the pizza box in the way not once but TWICE.

Thanks for replying!!

The idea is is pretty cute, but it was more than annoying when I got to the later stages, as much as the font makes it much more frustrating for the player (plus the confusion at not being able to type lowercase). The lives didn't do much at the end either, since the timer is an instant kill anyway. I did like the references and dialogue though, that was pretty enjoyable. - Devinant

(1 edit)

I liked there was a separate scaling cost for upgrades and new towers, encouraging use of both.  It wasn't quite clear what the exact difference between the cannons and ballista were apart from fire rate. The projectile "over-kill" as it seemed was confusing as it wasn't explained to me leaving be confused as to whether it was a bug. Despite those confusions it is quite simple to understand and I even did a retry to see if a different strategy worked better. - Devinant

Thank you for this, I got stuck unsure of where to go at the third fan.

I really enjoyed this game! The gameplay, while inspired by rage games, didn't feel unfair - I felt like I just needed to get good at the game, and as I retried the sections over and over, I got better at quickly navigating them. The voice lines were funny and the chill music helped keep it from being too frustrating, either.

I only had a couple problems, and one question.

The fan's winboxes aren't clearly defined. It's really hard to tell exactly where they are and aren't blowing visually, which was the only part that led to some failures feeling unfair, due to lacking the necessary information. The other problem is at the last jump with the two chairs, I softlocked myself twice by knocking the pizza box over and falling back down, the pizza box keeping me from climbing back up.

My last question, was the ending. It got creepy with the lighting and music slowing and all that, uh... did Evil eat him? What happened there at the end?

Anyways, I had fun, it took me over an hour but it was enjoyable! I loved the cute turtle model and the environments too!

I like the charm of using a CLI to play a game, when I saw the downloads folder I immediately checked it out and was not disappointed. The UI was quite nice, clearly distinguishing the folders from files. Use of the password took me a bit do as it wasn't indicated how I'd do that but it was easy enough after a few seconds. - Devinant

Same as my comment from earlier - Devinant

This game is fun to play, the mechanic is quite clear to understand and use. The sound design is good, although the sound of the time traveling could be quieter, I did find the classic scream funny when your character falls though. The game isn't that difficult for what is more of a puzzle, platformer to me but alas gamejams. Art style also fits quite well and ties it in. - Devinant

This was really fun! I love these kinds of games and it was done well! The only issue for me was the fact rapid clicking for the osu! attack meant a few times I clicked an upgrade instantly on level up without meaning to. A window where it doesn't select would be nice.

That message at the end is very relatable. This was a fun little game!

Thank you! We're hoping to fix that bug in an update after the gamejam. Glad you enjoyed our game, and thanks for commenting!

Thank you for the comment and feedback! We're hoping to work on those issues after the Gamejam in an update :)

The thing about footsteps being too often is good to know. We didn't have time to playtest and find out what was a good time. Right now they show up randomly between 1-3 minutes.

Thank you for the kind comment and feedback! We're really glad you enjoyed our game!

We've compiled a list of things we'd like to hopefully fix after the Gamejam, we'll try and address those issues!

(And on a personal note, it makes me really happy to hear somebody enjoyed the articles enough to go out of the way to read them all. It means a lot ^_^)

Whoa this is really cool! I love the sprites, they're so detailed and unique, and the gameplay is pretty fun. It reminds me of some of those old flash games.

I can see how this was made for neuro to play, and I really hope she does! But even for a human it's pretty cool. Above all else, the concept is very creative and uses the hteme in a unique and fun way too! Unfortunately the game did tend for freeze a lot for me, though, and it seems pretty hard/

Of course, we're happy to hear feedback, go right ahead!
