Thanks for playing. I worked on the art, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Hey, thanks so much for stopping by and your detailed comment!
I would agree that we could have created some more unique upgrades beyond the 'standard' metroid ones. Perhaps leaning more into the bug theme.
Like you said, a lot of time on the programmer's end went into getting the mechanics working properly (and maybe crunching the art at the end...)
Thanks for playing!
Nice, I like the art style and the animations are cute.
Some thoughts:
- I think the initial music loop could be longer and more interesting
- Adding sfx would also help immersion
- I don't seem to be able to make it past the first 4 enemies. My jump doesn't have a lot of horizontal motion so I end up being damaged by the enemies when trying to jump over them
Awesome! The upgrades and level design work well.
From the sound perspective (I'm a composer), it could be cool to implement some more music tracks depending on the environment, caves, overworld, etc. Eventually it would also be cool to get some unique sounds into the game beyond the ones already there.
Nice, had a lot of fun playing this one. Love the graphics, concept and music.
Some thoughts:
- When I lost all my health I could still jump around as a limp body
- Is there a penalty for dying? Just seemed like I got all my health back
- Enemies can still damage you after they lose their health
Great job!
Awesome. The controls are excellent and graphics look nice.
I'm having problems getting past the first part of the game. When I get the sword and attack with it the game glitches out. I lose control of the character who begins slide around unresponsively.
Not sure if anyone else is having this issue.
But still looks great!
Graphics, level design and gameplay are all great.
The mechanics are simple to understand, but do take practice. There's a few very tricky jumps, like the one where you have to double jump, throw a spider down to kill a spider beneath you, then quickly grab one falling from a pipe (thankfully you included a checkpoint afterwards!)
Great job!
Great! I love the character animation, ambiance and art.
I don't have too much to add besides what people have said below, but here's what I've got:
- The environment feels slightly too big and hard to navigate without a map
- The character feels somewhat floaty, but it works well enough
- the 1st eyeball boss was hard to predict, mostly because it seemed there wasn't a pattern to the attacks
- (can't remember if the boss had unique music, but could be cool if not)
Nice, I quite like the art style and music.
Some thoughts:
- It's strange having the jump button be 'w' and the attack be on space, it makes jumping challenging since you have to hold 'w' and a direction key to effectively jump.
- I got stuck in a pit near the beginning of the game and couldn't find a way out
- Some of the collisions (?) for platforms seem finicky
Overall, it's a great start!
Nice, the art, gameplay and music are all satisfying.
Suggestions:
- Some of the balance is off sound design-wise. For example the money "chink" sound can be quieter compared to other sounds. Right now it feels like all of the sounds are at the same volume level and adjusting them would help clarify their importance
- I can't tell if there's a 1-2 sec period of invincibility, sometimes I got easily killed by jumping down and falling on one enemy getting hit multiple times
Good job!
Great entry! I like the look and feel of the game.
To improve:
- Would have been really nice to have some music (either doom-like or metroid-like)
- The enemy respawns were a little annoying and odd. I often found my myself backing up in rooms in order to make space, only to walk out of the zone and de-spawn the enemies. The buzzing hum they make helps that somewhat, but it was also strange at times to hear the buzzing before seeing an enemy.
Great job! There's a lot of awesome things here, art, music, gameplay, story, etc.
The only little nitpick I can think of would be the room where you get the knife, maybe telling the player somehow that the knife can give a little jump boost? (I was able to figure it out quickly, but it could be frustrating).
