I'm coming for your damn spot  Faulko...

Score aside, this was a fun simple game with a surprising amount of depth for something heavily inspired by a childhood game that I enjoyed heavily in the past. On a side note, thank you for the nice nostalgia trip :)

The momentum felt very refined, which is important for games like these, so I appreciate the time you put into perfecting it.

One small critique I have about the game is that at some point the foreground (slopes) start to blend into the background due to the shift in color, making it nigh impossible to see where you have to drop down. Just a little bit of contrast on the top of the slopes with like a texture of grass could go a long way.

Overall, great job! 10/10 addicting, and expect me to come and post another comment with a #1 leaderboard spot. Cheers :)

Overall, for your first game jam this is a very solid base. You should be proud that you were able to get a playable MVP out, despite your lack of time. Everything's there, from player movement to the potential upgrade/attack system, as well as a simple enemy AI.

If you're planning on taking the project further, (which i think you should!), then I would suggest focusing first on your main mechanic, which is the upgrade/attacking system. I think it shows some promise, but I will warn you that it is very hard to balance a playstyle of "Avoidance and strategy," with fun gameplay, as nine times out of ten it results in the player just ignoring enemies rather than engaging with them.

Congratulations on getting a game out for the jam (haha), and I wish you luck in your game development journey!

Heyo! Artsy here. I just to upfront say that you did a pretty damn good job with your mechanics, the types of enemies you threw at the player, and the time you took to balance the map out with those mechanics/enemies in mind. While I was opposed to the turret ammo-makers being on the opposite sides of the map, I actually really appreciate that choice, as it really does feel like dodging and weaving your way through the hordes of enemies to juggle those two engines. I also thought that it was pretty smart that you could cancel the spawning of enemies by dashing through their spawn portals. as it was a neat way to deal with having too many "unkillable' guys roaming about making a mess.

There was a tech (that I will be dubbing "ghost cancelling"), that helped me to survive for longer which basically entails ghosting, dashing, and then calling it back, then repeating. I think it utilizes the fact that you dash resets on enemy kill? It really helps to reposition yourself to a position that is more advantageous, and if this was an unintended bug then I would consider making it a feature.
It was very satifsfying to use the dashing mechanic, as the enemies always lended themselves nicely to lining up in straight lines. The artstyle was also very lovely :)

Somethings that I noticed that could use some work though were that the dash, as it would often get stuck on corners when I tried lining up a shot, which isn't great when you need to work within the tight corners of those generator rooms. Also, I kinda get that the turret was the final thing you needed to kill the final enemy types, but it felt kind of disconnected from the gameplay loop.. Could have just been the way I played, which was to gather enough ammo to fill the turret (cause I thought you needed to fill it to actually use it.. just needed to hold down the mouse button ;-;), and shot until i won. You might want to consider removing the delay between holding the fire button and actual shooting, as the delay totally messes up with the quick pacing of the juggling act that your gameplay thrives on.

Overall, i'm very impressed you did this in 2 weeks! It's very polished gameplay wise, and has a bunch of animations.. I could never lol.

Great work and I wish you good luck!!

Leaderboards was definitely a good move here. While the collision felt a little frustrating at time, overall i liked the concept. Great job!

Edit: TOP OF THE TUTORIAL LEADERBOARDS BABY

fun little wario ware esque game! Echoing the same thing a few of the other commenters have said, the sfx just plain stopped working after a certain level. Nonetheless good job on getting a game out!

Great stuff! Really enjoyed the artstyle and the concept!! While the jumping can feel a little unresponsive at times, this game does the concept, "you can't control the movement , but you can shoot," type of game that this jam has a lot of really well. It really strikes the balance between control and restriction really well. Well done!

I really like the concept, but the ricochet is a little finnicky with the aiming. Good job on getting something done for the jam!!

Thank you :) Yeah I had to rush both of the "endings" to get this thing in on time, so I know they don't make a whole lot of sense.. Thank you for playing regardless, though!

Thank you! Preciate the feedback :)

Thank you for the feedback! It's very much my fault for the vagueness of the beginning section, but i'm glad you found some enjoyment regardless :)

Thank you for the kind words! Glad you liked the grappling hook :)

Glad to hear you liked the grappling hook! The ambiguity on shift is very much my fault I definitely made that part a bit vague ;-;.

If you'd like just a hint, just look back to the name of the game :)

Bouncing from positioning yourself away from enemies to solving simple arithmetic to aiming at and shooting the closest guy to you, was very surprisingly engaging. Your eyes can only look at so much, so you end up darting them across the screen WHILE having to do math in your head. Very fun.

One thing I do gotta say though is the game spawns a lot of enemies, maybe a bit too much. It's very easy to get overwhelmed in the first minute or so, without using the forbidden tech at least.

Overall, well done! The forbidden technique definitely got a laugh out of me when I inputted the code :)

This game has a surprising amount of depth that I nearly didn't experince. All of the cards can be used to combo into one another nicely, and the last level was quite challenging (beat it with 2 seconds  left!!). I think a good step forward if you'd like to continue this is to consider being able to add another body/person onto the map, as once it's just down to one/2 people (whether due to samurai or exploding,) the game just turns into "how fast can I get my infect card..?"

Despite that, I still enjoyed myself. Loved the artwork and the little story between you and the queen(?) Well done :)

Always a sucker for destructible objects!! T'was quite a cute little game, 10/10 would blow up again.

Enjoyed playing around with this one! I enjoyed how the sword moves and how it interacts with the enemies. Got a good laugh out of me when I flung one of the slimes at mach 20.  If I had to give some constructive criticism, I didn't really understand the damage to the sword and how to prevent it if you even can. Some indicators for health would help alot.

Good job on your game! Seems like there could be a lot of potential for a mobile release? could be something to consider.

I am a sucker for momentum based games, and i thought you did a really great job balancing the movement, and the controls felt pretty great to use. Also a huge fan of the breakcore music Well done!

Controls felt amazing to use and just the feel playing was smooth, from the sound effects to the animations. The core game loop was also very fun to play through, and I feel as if this game has a lot of potential to add features and mechanics! I wish you the best of luck :)

Had a fun time with this one! Especially love the little rock paper scissors triangle between the three weapons, and the ai for enemies possessing the weapons felt especially polished, and it was a great twist!

Wonderful job :)

Very nice little survivor game! I especially appreciated the choice between the two shot types that you have to make depending on the game state. I too often find games where there are tons of unique ammo types, where there is one that clearly outshines the rest. Great job!

This is a game that definitely surprised me and got me hooked! Amazing execution, and the ending got a chuckle out of me. Crazy good work you guys :)

Huge props! Was very enjoyable :)
