Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous.

  • The game plays very smoothly, the two weapons feel good. The sound gets monotone so try to play around with different pitches of the effects to have like 3 different sounds. The GDD is written very well and i really like the art of the game. The two weapons feel a bit unbalanced since you can control the left / right weapons it is easier to hit the enemies, on the top/bottom weapons the enemies never reached inside the cone. The game reminds a lot of Asteroids and to hit the theme better it might be great to see that the ship flies on its own and you are literally just the weapon on the ship and let the player decide before the game starts which weapon they play. The game works great and has quite some potential. We'll look forward to see more of you.

Cute font and engaging gameplay! I just wish there was a little more variety.

Developer

Thanks for playing!
yea, i do have a few more ideas wanted to add but since im bad at time management the game end up with not that much variety and content
but glad you enjoyed!

Love the simple yet consistent graphics!

While the sound effects could use some variation, especially in the second weapon, it's nice and responsive that they're there. I was a little confused that enemies can linger around inside me before making damage, but it would've been way harder if they didn't.

Developer

Thankss glad you loved it,
im pretty sure as long as the spinning blades hits the ship you'll take damage. i think bcs the smaller ones doesnt really reduce the health that much, it gives the sense that its not hitting. i should've probably add an indicator when enemy damages the ship
adding a behaviour for the enemy to avoid the ship occasionally sounds interesting aswell

Thanks for the review!

nice graphics, though i found the audio to be quite unnerving after a while, since it that monotone.

Developer

I do agree with the audio part i kinda rush it when implementing it
was trying to make like pencil paper eraser noice but felt kinda off so i use a gdevelop sound editor and just change the sound pitch for other weapons even the death sound for the enemies
i might change the sfx in the future
Thanks for the review!

Hey, thanks for making this, it was a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed the design of the spaceships. I found them to be something fun and different.

The fact that you could not shoot between the spaceships "eyes" was a feature that added an extra challenge.

My Final Score was 337.

Thanks for playing!
yeah i thought of making a variety of weapons to the ship the one that you cant aim with and the other one is aimable with both have its own specialty just to give people a little feeling of controlling weapons to match with the theme
glad you enjoyed it 👍

337 is quite good my first try was 100 something lol

Very nice little survivor game! I especially appreciated the choice between the two shot types that you have to make depending on the game state. I too often find games where there are tons of unique ammo types, where there is one that clearly outshines the rest. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the review! glad you enjoy it 🙌

Nice implementation of a survivor-like game! I think it could be improve with some auto aim and if the enemies were slower! Good job tho! Keep making games!

Developer

Thanks for playing my game! i do agree with your feedback
i did have a thought of adding a difficulty or wave system but tryna do it as what the result is right now trying to know if people feel its too difficult without those features added since you said so ill probably consider adding them in the future
Much appreciated 👍

Nice, I like how movement is implemented and minimalistic drawn art style.

Although, I wonder, when enemies stick to our space ship, it's quite hard to get rid of them,  is it by design or not?

Developer(+1)

Thanks, glad you liked it!

for the enemies i do have a dillemma on whether i put a logic for them to avoid the spaceship hitbox occasionally so it doesn't always stick to the player or making it as it is on what the current result is

since i thought the first idea would not give that much big of a challenge to players so i just make them as it is currently

Good job! Those big enemies took me by surprise lol!

Developer

i did also get surprised when i first spawn them in lol
