Good point. I added a line about recentering the view in the description.

I also added a vignette option to mitigate motion sickness, but I can't update until the end of the game jam.

I guess it's only my PC being too weak.
Looking at the project files, some images seem to be huge, as well as a few of the Blender files. :(

Nice idea. Had a hard time finding the last crystal.

Runs fine on my Quest 2 with SteamVR.

Maybe add a way of finding the cube, I lost track of it several times.

Does not work on my PC (Windows 11 (64 bits), Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, Oculus Oculus Quest2, SteamVR), tried windows, optimized version. Running from sources seems to take forever importing.

I only have music when starting, graphics stays on the Godot loading screen. ;(

I didn't expect this in that gamejam. :) Really relaxing, and graphics are great.

And use controller to measure breath, that's 6 stars originality (and works very well)! :D

Worked very well on my Quest 2 with SteamVR.

Player movement is really weird. Starts really really slow, then slowly speeds up then becomes too fast to control. Not sure if this is headset-dependent.

I managed to find the fire orb, but there seemed to be invisible walls (and visible non-walls) in other labyrinths.

Awesome idea! This would deserve to be a full game.

Very nicely done, and really fun, although I'd like to be able to control the scrolling speed (for example with gestures with the second hand) to take more time and eat all those soldiers. ;)

Windows 11 (64 bits), Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, Oculus Oculus Quest2, it runs HL:Alyx nicely.

The WebXR version runs nicely on my Quest2.

Graphics are nice, the game idea is good, but a little bit easy for me (torches collision area is too large vertically IMHO). :D

Do you have ideas for more game mechanics?

Hi, I could not install the apk on my Quest 2 (due to missing certificates), then tried the Windows version with SteamVR, and it crashes right after the loading screen. :(

OK, so my "fix" is useless, I'll delete it. Thanks for testing it anyway. :)

I tried to guess a fix and added a download named "test_height_bug.zip" in case you have time to test. ;)

Here's a small video:

I think it's added when you add a movement behavior? My Player scene just has a simple (non-xr) CharacterBody node.

Thanks for the info. I'll try to find a fix. :)

Damn, I didn't use the XRToolsPlayerBody scene... But I'll have a look at the code to try to understand what happens. Could you please tell me more about your system and which export you used?
Maybe I can  try to make a fixed version for you (after the jam is over so I don't cheat by providing updated releases).

I'll create a few videos soon and add them to the game's page.

I learned about physics process priority. Unfortunately, I learned after the deadline and the bug (hands lagging behind) is in the submitted version. :(

Thanks for all those nice tracks! I just used 4 of them for a game jam.

Good point! I'll fix this after the game jam.

(1 edit)

There will probably be many broom racing games in this jam, so here's how mine (Sweep Stakes VR 😁) looks like.

Not much to say about this, except this only uses 1 texture and it's 8x8 . :D

Hmm did you try 1.3 or 1.4alpha2? Which GPU do you have?

Use a Debug node or create a "Dynamic" material (right click the material node).

(1 edit)

Please don't hesitate to try new alphas when they are available and tell me if they work for you. You can also join us on Discord. :)

Hi! Did you try the 1.4alpha1 or 1.3 release? Anyway, Material Maker mostly relies on generating and running shaders, so I'm not sure about your GPU (and I truly hope your RAM is GBs and not MBs ;) )...

Probably a few months. But lots of new stuff. I hope I can release a first alpha soon (and things should be faster thereafter).

There's no node for this yet, but it could be created easily. Please don't hesitate to ask the question on Discord. ;)

Hi! For that kind of questions, please don't hesitate to join us on Discord. I think Arnklit did volume textures related stuff a few weeks ago. ;)

(1 edit)

Hi! You probably want to join the discord server and ask your question there. :)

Did you try the texture space painting mode (first painting button to toggle). It definitely has to be improved on seams, but should be pretty close to "surface normals based".

The best way to get informed is to join us on Discord. ;)
But yeah, there should be alpha and beta releases soon (changes are quite big, including migrating to Godot 4, so I'd rather take my time and hunt bugs for as long as necessary).

Maybe one day...

Yeah, just select a "favorite" folder and press the Delete key.

If you have an AMD GPU, updating the drivers should solve the problem.

The Linux build should work for most Linux distributions.

In the StandardMaterial resource, just find the UV1/Scale property.

Users can already pay if they want, they can even pay per month on Patreon if they do like subscriptions (or want to help this project a lot). :D

I don't want to "punish" users who just want to try MM or cannot afford it (whatever the price I set).

Please don't hesitate to join the Discord and describe what happens so I can investigate this...

Yeah, there are many problems with physics I must fix.

Beautiful and very relaxing.

Beautiful and very relaxing.

I love this! Where's the full version? Seriously, this gameplay has a lot of potential.

Oh, and very nice cover image. :D
