Just edited my text here before posting since i saw many had that problem with the (now infamous :D) "red turret room". I really liked how the game staged its narration. The dev's approach was not to introduce mechanics and flesh them out immedeatly, but switched things almost every room which fit the scenario really good. Music was okay and served the mood. Also sufficent audio feedback for all elements. Visually clean and appropriate and immersive enough for the context of the story. I really liked how the bossfight in the end used the game's overall idea and went for some unconventional approach. Really worth fleshing out with more ideas and a polished difficulty progression. I really enjoyed your first finished game and i imagine this can be an even much better title if you have more than 7 days. :)

I loved it! A good level design, a story, and also very cute graphics! On the other hand, I couldn't get past the room pictured here. Did I miss something? It's quite possible, given my level of English ... Bravo in any case, a good game :D

You can enter the vent in the wall by pressing A. A button prompt has been added for the next version to prevent players from getting stuck.

Congrats on your first finished game!

I definitely enjoyed playing this one, and experienced the same red room turret problem, but got by after starting a new game. I thought the music fit really well and I especially liked the different colour dialogue box and sprite colour for each character!

There's one camera shake right at the end that created some spill over and lasted the last few scenes to the beginning. I think a simple wait function after would solve this.

Solid entry! I'll keep eyes peeled for future works!

Very fun entry! Snappy writing and unique story/setting. My only suggestion is a foot meter like NES Die Hard ;)

Really enjoyed it. Impressive effort. I'm a sucker for stealth game and really enjoyed the pacing until that infamous red room with the guard and the turret haha. In the browser version, I couldn't get passed it, even following what you wrote in another comment.

Can't wait for the rebalancing and again congratz on your first game, that was fun !

Very well fleshed out stealth game with compelling writing! Incredible effort for learning gbstudio during the jam as well!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I tried my best to learn in the time I was given! I had some prior experience modding for games, which made learning GB Studio a little easier, but it still had quite a few its own challenges! In the end, it was well worth it, and I was pretty happy with the story writing too!

Cool metal gear style! I got stuck in the room with the crossing cannons!

Developer

Was it this room?

You can press the A button /Z key to enter the vent in the wall. I had a sprite for a button prompt, but uh... I forgot to add it. Sorry about that!

game was fun. i hard a hard time with the long room with the turret and the one badguy. well done!

Developer(+3)

Yeah, the scripting in that room is kinda messed up, it doesn't refresh on reset/death if you pass the trigger. I got some rooms I gotta fix up and rebalance once the voting period is over, but in the meantime, you can still pass this part!

See, the 2 tile vertical line of carpet is the trigger for the guy. Stand up here, and dash left, and you'll chase away the guy without getting shot. Then, you can safely travel on the carper in this hallway, under the turret's range. If you're not using am emulator with savestates, I recommend using the save point in the orange stairway, because then, you can continue from there.

Cool game. I for stucked in a level hard to continue, but the game os great.

Developer(+1)

Well, let me know what the room was, and I can help! I'm also working to find the flaws in my levels, so this'll help me too!

I had difficulty with one of the puzzles, so I didn't really get a chance to finish, but this is an impressive feat for your first game! The rewind and restart features are SO appreciated and impressive! My only complaint is that I don't feel it really fits the friendly theme super well since it seems to be more pacifism focused, but I gave it some grace since I didn't get to the end and didn't see if the friends patched things up. Major congrats to you, though! Please keep up the great work.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! If you're still struggling with a part later, let me know, and I can tell you about it! As for the theming, it comes up more by the end.
