Good game with a good bit of challenge to it, awesome graphics too! Was able to beat it on the 2nd try. It took a small chunk of time to learn the gameplay so a tutorial would be nice, but this game had a good amount of polish.

That was a challenging but fun game! Love the character designs and animations. Pulling off a special attack was also very satisfying!!
Really good game, well done! I find hitbox of enemy little bit weird at first but god used to it. Good game really. Great job in 10 days!
Looks like I'm not he only one who would love some more lenient hitboxes for hitting the boss.
The animations and art are great here. Lots of character smashed into a couple sprites. I wish the song was a bit longer given that the song loops 10+ times during a playthrough. I do like that there are multiple songs in the game. Overall a good submission, though I'd have loved to see a little more variation in the boss pattern.
About the song loops, the idea was to have different bossfight phases and we even had different loops for those, bit since we couldn't implement the phases we decided to merge all loops into one a bit longer, but since we changed the balance too to make it more difficult to beat (given the lack of other content) the unique song loop becomes repeatable. But we agree with your comment.
Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback.
Great looking and sounding game. As other's have mentioned though, the hitboxes are tiny. When I started I was firing for a while not realising I wasn't hitting that much. I was collecting traps, but I don't know if I had to do something else but it just didn't feel like it changed much significantly. Nice work though!
Yeah, current game doesn't change a lot after unplanting the traps, the idea (mentioned in the game page) was to give different positive effects to the main weapon, like double fire or machine gun fire, etc, and different negative effects if you fail to unplant them on time.
Anyways, thanks so much for playing it and for the feedback!
Super good looking game, the sprites and charadesigns, as well as the backgrounds all look extremely cool.
The music and sfx are great too!
Controls are nice but it's never really clear why sometimes you pick up a trap and sometimes it hits you (all while using the catch trap button), I suppose it has to do with positioning but the feedback wasn't clear.
It's strange how big the enemy is while her hitbox is super small (and at a weird spot). This made the whole thing not super satisfying to play.
The plant theme is nooot really present too, tbh.
The efforts in presentation still definitely made it worth the effort of finishing the game !
Completely agree with the hit box (most mentioned by everyone) and the communication about when you can unplant a trap or not. About the theme, it was incorporated in the story and the plant traps and unplant traps mechanics, but I admit it wasn't so strong related.
Thanks so much for the feedback and for playing and finishing the game!!
Very cool game! It makes you learn the bosses patterns thus making the game play super fun, when you predict his/her movements.
Great job!
Cool game! Visuals are great, animations are great, sounds good, everything works, there's a beginning middle and end, good work! I saw yall had ideas and ran out of time, jams gonna jam :) This is still a great entry!
Friendly feedback: As others mentioned the boss's hitbox is quite unforgiving. I wish I had seen some kind of different bullet patterns because every attack I could see was a straight line. I never figured out which items were safe and which were bullets, maybe that's my bad, but you could consider using a "pick-up" icon above the good stuff?
There isn't much "content", I'm totally okay with that, but I'm not sure the Boss's health needs to be as high as it is because it feels like padding, especially since there aren't any phases or anything.
Anyway, great game overall, just wish there was a bit more to it and a little better tuning.
love the art and sound!! i do think the boss is a little too hard to hit, and combined with the character being so slow it's really difficult to dodge obstacles and hit the boss at the same time.
Hi, thanks for playing it, and for the feedback. We wanted it to feel like a boss fight so it is meant to be hard, however, I suppose it wasn't clear you can pickup plants and fire them with secondary button, those special attacks are more powerful and have more damage, you have to risk yourself to pick'em up but the reward is that special attack.
The style of this game is absolutely gorgeous. The boss feels a little like a damage sponge because of the large health pool and strange hit box. Could definitely be fleshed out to make a really nice game given more time. I also noticed it's using some kind of anti alias on the shadows causing it to exceed 4 colors which is probably my biggest concern. At one point there was 20 colors on the screen.
I managed to beat the boss lol. Cool little entry. The presentation was absolutely fantastic. I wish the player could move a little faster though. My main complaint though is that the hitbox of the boss isn't too well defined and seems a little too small. It was a little hard to actually aim the player right a a result. A good entry none the less
Took me a bit to realize I wanted to run over some plants and not others. It looks great, plays really well to.
Well, in fact you can pickup all all the plants but all of them have the same result because we ran out of time and couldnt implement what we wanted. The idea was to have different mods for your basic weapon based on the plant you pickup, for some time, you can always super attack and lose the mod like kirby. Thanks for playing it and for the feedback!
Beautiful graphics!
Well defined characters, nice (HARD) and readable gameplay. It'd be great to see levels with smaller enemies swarming the player too.
Great work!
The boss hp is too much for me but I love the graphics and sound. I'd love to play this not as a boss fight but as a level with small enemies.
This was a great experience! The art and sound are phenomenal, and while the gameplay is simple, it's well executed! Definitely nails the gameboy feel too. :]
