The sprite of the girl and her expressions and later additions depending on the choice are very well done. I can see the effort put into this. The writing was intriguing and convincing in context to the goal - to judge her action. Where the choice really is a matter of perspective, which also is clearly hinted at the way the girl and death are talking to another. I really liked that. There are some minor choices in between for different ways in the dialogue , but they are not changing the ending. The music is very simplistic , but in general really adds to the emotional tone. I liked the shift in pitch after the the picture cutscene. A convincing short story. Really liked it! This game would be my "honourable mention" that would also make me wish for a seperate narrative/walkingsim/fetchquest category.

great writing!
Amazing writing in this one. I blessed, cursed little visual novel. Total worth it!
What a great character design! Very interesting story, too.
Nice writing! I liked the story and the art is beautiful
Thank you so much ~ glad you enjoyed it!
I don't remember a visual novel made on GB, interesting story and graphics, interesting but creepy.
I just want to say ... as he-man said: Friends will not judge you!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I liked it, I don't know the English language very well but it's quite easy to access. On the other hand, there is a rather dark atmosphere but I don't mind, on the contrary it's well brought, and it's a change!
Bravo ! (some text display bugs on the original Game Boy DMG as you can see on my pictures, but nothing serious ;) ) .
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it.
And yeah some of the text bugs only present themselves in the original GB. I ended up developing this for the GB Color because it was unstable in the og GB. But the pictures you sent are really cool - super cool to see my game on the Game Boy nonetheless.
Creepy!
I remember stories that I randomly read on the internet.
I liked the way it was applied, but it could have more routes depending on the choices in the dialogues, so the chosen ending would be more unique, depending on the person and the information that was acquired in the testimony.
I was quite impressed with the expressions on Tala's face, that was a very well done touch!
Beautiful and philosofical. Was a nice travel. My two favoritos games of this Jam envolves the Reaper.
Your Reaper reminds me a book called The Duck, the Reaper and the Tulipe ( O Pato, a morte e a tulipa, in Portuguese), from Wolf Elrbruch, I guess.
high five - i thought she was pinay the moment she said lolo - this story and dialogue was wonderful - really thought provoking and the art is stunning! wonderful job on the game!!!
Yup! It never made the final script but I originally wrote her as a Filipino-American. Still wanted to keep that touch to her in small ways. Thanks again for playing btw and I'm so happy you like it <3
This was really well done. I liked the story, characters, and even the little details like Death's origin. I would love to see it fleshed out a bit more!
Thanks me too lol I definitely had a more ambitious story here but struggled with GB Studio for the first time. Would love to expand upon this in the future. Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it.
More existential questions than I thought I'd get from the theme, but an interesting little narrative nonetheless!
Thanks! Yeah same here lmao the story was initially different but changed a lot as I ran into issues ha ha
Very interesting take on a more dialogue-heavy game. Although there's not a ton of depth in gameplay, the characters and writing are very well done with a great way of looping the lore and history into these characters' conversations. Congrats!
Thanks! Definitely was the intention - surprisingly I had more issues then I thought since it's my first rodeo with GB Studio. I'm glad you liked the story though.
For a first game, this is pretty solid. Hope you do well with what you make in the future!
Me too. GB Studio is definitely more limiting than Unreal or Unity so I'll keep that in mind moving forward. Thanks again so much!
