138 days for me - great game, it has an addicting aspect to it! :)
(Small thing - if you click "Next" on the mayor's building it quits the mayor UI)
Whoa, a simulation game like simcity, I feel like that's a pretty hard kind of game to make for a jam so mad respect, it's chill and the music helps with that, cute graphics too!
Suuuuuuuuper chill experience. I loved the BGM, and it definitely fits the vibe since it takes a bit of time to win. ha
Very well done.
I got 202 days! I really enjoyed the increasing complexity over time – the mechanics were easy to learn at the start and all the additional upgrades later on made it fun to strategise! Also big bonus points for having a save function!!
A fun little management game, definitely quite unique across the jam. Would definitely be interesting to see it polished up a bit and expanded post-jam :)
You had me at Idle
I loved this game so much I finished it in 437 days.
I didn't understand what triggers the winning condition, so if you could explain that would be amazing.
Loved the music, but with such a long gameplay it gets really annoying.
also I didn't understand the "🙂1,00" that never changed for all the game, is this an unfinished feature?
I didn't expect added content so far into the game, with the major and I loved the idea that you could add daily hours. Thanks for the experience.
Thank you for the kind words!
1. It's reaching 25 M population, the tutorial tell you as such, you can re-enable the tutorial in the settings before you start a new game.
2. It's the happiness meter, above 0.5 the population increases, below it decreases. As I changed the balancing of the game, it became nearly obsolete since the available surplus power limits the growth and it is hard to overshoot the production.
3.Ye boi
yeah so it needs nore more balancing for the happiness meter, it would give at least a difficult, since the game really does not have one
Very fun and addictive idle game.
The soundtrack is great and doesn't take you away from the game which is necessary for this kind of experience. The Paperboy look of the city is very cute too.
Some of the options (accessing the bonuses in the bottom right corner) could have been better displayed, it took me a while to notice that they were there.
Great entry otherwise, good job!
(took me 220 days to reach the goal)
I had more fun playing this then I thought I would (usually a action game player, less on strat or puzzle). Hooked by the end of it. Won at 230 days. Well done!
I can't stop playing it, this is the kind of game I like I suppose xD, now I want to complete it. Great work!
UPDATE: took me 161 days to complete it. Didn't know what batteries are for and also in the mayor's building there is a "next" button but it closes the window and don't know if I am doing something wrong and can't get the next page of options or there are none and it is a close button.
I think it was supposed to say "Close" or something there, my bad!
The batteries were supposed to help you store some energy if the demand increased, but I ended up changing the formula for increasing the population so they aren't really effective in the current state of the game.
Another thing I had in mind was a day/night cycle, so you would need some storage for the solar panels, ended up not going for that though.
Very addicting. It took me 633 days to win. I discovered pretty late the immense power of the migration boost.
Very well executed game, congrats!
Oof, sorry about that, should have made it clearer :/
Oh, no worries, I left the tab open and had to go out for a while, that's why I took so long.
I love to see simple yet really effective game on jam! This is the way of right way of thinking, you made right move with this! Put some ads on this and made some money on mobile platforms :D
Haha, thanks :)
Amazing soundtrack, smooth gameplay, simple and satisfying progression. Kudos my man, you made a classic.
Thanks my friend!
This was a super fun game! I really enjoyed it, and it really stands out from all games because of the way you played with the theme! Great job!!! :)
Thank you for saying that friend!
Won in 115 days. It was fun)
GG
This was a brave idea for a game jam! I think you did well with the time constraint :)
The main problem i had (aside from the idling part at the start which i understand was a design decision), was that I didn't really know what a lot of the shop/mayor purchases did. I kind of had a rough idea but some sort of tooltip or info button would have gone a long way to at least make me think my decisions weren't as random :)
I also didn't find the shop for quite a while :) maybe that was just me but it wasn't obvious to me at first.
I finished in 308 days by eventually going all in on nuclear and realising that migration massively sped up population growth :)
I agree, the UX sucks a lot
nice.
ye boi
Fun little game, these types of idle games always seem to suck up more time than you think for whatever reason.
Small thing I did notice: it looks like a lot of your sprites are offset a bit and so the corners are wrapping around (it seems easiest to see on the coal plant, the outline of the right side of the smokestack is wrapping over to the left side of the sprite).
D: sadge
Fun game!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A very cool little game here. Quite enticing, but hard to explain exactly why. I had a good ramp-up until about 20M people (by about day 115), then it wasn't obvious how to keep more people coming in. I have upgraded things to what seems like a reasonable point, but I don't have enough power to keep pulling people in. I'm currently at day 170 and only getting about 5k people per day. If my math is correct, that means it'll be another 100+ hours at this rate before I "win".
Other than not quite understanding how folks are hitting sub 200 days, this was quite an entertaining experience for it's simplicity and presentation. Nice work!
Thanks for the feedback! In case you want to try sub 200 -> it's the migration item in the shop, the very first thing. It increases the maximum possible number of people coming (or leaving) in a day. It's the tiny UI that makes it difficult to convey what the meaning of it is, my bad.
