thank youuu Pinku!

The inspiration from 'Portal' is loud and clear - the dialogues, voice and the sterile environment immediately reminded me of it. However, the puzzles borne out of your imagination were very clever! Extremely well-conceived work, whatever I was able to observe!

Polished work!

very smart work! some good quality satire with the theme and gameplay aligning so well - impressive!

it started off looking very simple - but it was so fun to play! with one very intuitive control, you have created a dynamic system! very well done.

good attempt - it has a good degree of challenge - but it does get a bit too repetitive a little too fast! but it looks clean and cute nonetheless!

You are very kind! CutePotato as well as the 2 artists in our team made a lot of efforts to make it cinematic, atmospheric and add that flair of drama...

Thank youuu very much!

With the time constraint given, we focused on setting a strong narrative foundation - we have the intent of turning this into a full-fledged game in the future - polishing the gameplay, as well as integrating the narrative with the gameplay in a more cohesive way!

But from a player's perspective, I understand this feedback! Thank youu

that's very kind, thank youu!

yes, that would be lovely!

lizards and one lone firefly - interesting theme, and made for some striking visuals! it felt a little too difficult for me personally; but I do like the direction in which this is going!

the work on the shaders, lighting , coding and UI is incredibly impressive within the time frame - I hope the members who were in hibernation has awakened by now! the gameplay seemed a little too challenging though.  But I hope you all are proud of yourselves - the massive efforts scream loud and clear!

very effective horror game! felt like thoughtful level design, with the dead ends littered with skulls, and cages that looked like they were broken open.  the 'eye contact' mechanic works very well in this context too - well done!

With the limited time, you have managed to come up with a refreshing concept in the Indian context! Charming title and art - however it feels quite difficult to progress. It feels like you have to repeatedly go through the same dialogues to find the way ahead - I felt a little overstimulated and under-stimulated at the same time. But with the time constraint, this is very impressive work - hope you all take it further!

thank youu

And very fair! We are hoping to polish this gameplay and better integrate the art with it, in the future!

Yess, something along those lines...that'll add a lot more nuance to this simulation-like game, and make the player feel more satisfied in investigating - you know it already!

The UI seems a bit glitchy, I wonder if it's me? Map did not seem to be working after a point. But from whatever I have seen, you seem to be a talented and imaginative writer!

Such a polished, amusing game! Felt so smooth to play.  Although I can understand why one of the commenters wanted dash, I kept secretly wishing for it too - because I would have loved to keep playing if I had the skill!

almost like a money clicker game - but with an added layer of satire. that was interesting!

I do understand you - I have a tendency to join game jams with the intention of improving my coding; but I end up working within my comfort zone simply because the time constraint is so very real!

Yes, do keep going , I see you are going in directions not usually seen!

That was some good game design! You have taken something simple and intuitive to grasp and turned it into a mentally stimulating exercise. You seem to have a good grasp of fundamentals too - impressive work.  Satisfying visual and sound feedback too. I hope you take it to its full potential!

Feels a little too challenging - I think the game can benefit from a more balanced gameplay, but I do appreciate the visuals, the efforts show!

I couldn't move beyond the 'F to interact with switch' level (the text disappears too fast I think?) but I find the idea itself refreshing and creative. Fun concept - I see potential here!

I ragequit a little too soon but whatever I heard of the narrator reminded me  of "Getting Over It" -  in terms of how it makes you feel. The visual style, although simple, looks appealing - and the voice narration is very well the highlight!

Clever work!

I did feel like it was the time constraint that must have closed in on you guys - because I saw a lot of cleverness in what you were able to execute!

making the 1v1 more strategic + making it harder to deduce are the straightforward paths that immediately occured to me too. But the idea of unlocking extra developer tools sounds good in terms of progression, and going meta - if done right, can be psychologically rich too!

I am not sure how practical this is - but is there a way where you can give access to manufactured discord chats? That way, looking at the profile is not enough to make a complete  deduction, but you need to actually go through the kind of messages they post to come to conclusions? just throwing a very impulsive idea!

seems like you guys have the talent to turn anything into a game! loved the sense of humour and colourfully written dialogues, but got very confused on how to strategize. But hey, I passed - so  maybe I am secretly good at cheating and coercing!

charming and amusing work, with a significant  degree of polish in the visual department!

Yes,  I can clearly see the inspiration - and I'm glad one of the themes sparked this game!

Played through finally - it was so amusing, yet the concept had serious undertones. Perhaps it can be made more challenging, but the idea was so well-handled it kept me engaged throughout!

Are you guys planning to take this forward in the future?

Somehow not able to do those 1v1 bot fights - but whatever I have seen so far...looked quite polished and clean! I can see the influence of "Papers Please" but set in a contemporary world. Enjoyed whatever I was able to see of the technological satire, too.

Intelligent work!

Hey, I am glad you were able to learn a lot from this prototype and it really shows. Procedural animation, rope-physics - it seems like you ventured to try more complex coding...I hope you see this idea through!

Can't believe you took that nightmare of the blue error page, went off in a creative tangent - and turned it into a  game! With seemingly simple parameters, that was some effective gameplay.

Well done!

It looked simple in the beginning, but oh, it was so deceptively devious!I couldn't reach very far but it seems quite creative and well-designed.  Cannot imagine the amount of efforts that must have gone behind each puzzle.

Good job!

The aura of this game  reminds me of "Patrick's Parabox" - but the concept of it seems strikingly different and original! It has such a smooth game-feel.  Complex dynamics arising from simple mechanics - highly satisfying to play.

Very well done!

it saddens me to know you feel embarrassed now and then...as a non-native English speaker, please be gentler on yourself! If I were to attempt to write a full-fledged fictional narrative in a language I only know colloquially, I'd struggle so much as well! That too, with the kind of complex themes you've gone for (I think these are themes close to your heart?)

That'd be pain!

You might not always be concise but I have enjoyed reading quite a few of your comments, it shows such a depth in the way you see the world! And your words have intention - I actually hope you'd be more consistently proud!

I made it a point to complete your game because you come across as such a sensitive, considerate and helpful soul - but not just that, the philosophical bent you have resonates with me!

With your sincerity, I'm sure you'll just keep getting better and better with your skills...go for it!

(1 edit)

You are already very aware about how it can be a bit difficult to read and comprehend - so I just wanted to say I was overwhelmed by the level of efforts that has gone into it...suffering even...

The way you comment on certain games shows your potential to be able to simplify profound philosophical ideas in English; and it flows too, so you have it in you!

Ah, but when it comes to concepts grappling with cosmic consciousness and meta-physics where you have imagined a tremendous level of detail....I'm sure it's a completely different story!

There are a lot of parts that I couldn't properly understand, but I do have some comments!

Even though some of the descriptive parts feel too heavy, some of the conversations actually feel organic enough. One part especially stood out; the one where the protagonist asks Atlasia to respond to the comment: The finitudes of existence are meaningless (or something along those lines)...

Atlasia's optimistic response encapsulating the human journey with respect to nature was so well-crafted - that part especially stood out in making me realise; with time and practice, you'd get there!

I hope my positive reinforcement has managed to please you ( in Atlasia's words hehe)

Keep going, you seem to have such a unique perspective to bring to the world, and language barriers can be broken!

Oooh that was such informative feedback; I really, really appreciate it!

Giving the readers more space for the emotion to sink in towards the end, is an idea borne of sensitivity - I do agree, it's a little too abrupt and overwhelming. And yes, playing with metaphors is powerful because it can bring in just the right level of ambiguity to connect deeply with people. Alas, I went for a simpler route because it's not so easy to pull off for me - but I can definitely try in the future!

And you know what? I was actually planning to make the controls fully-keyboard; I just ended up rushing things towards the end; and it was just easier to execute it with the nature of mouse interactions; but it's a very valid point - will make it even more immersive! Or wait, I can just make it fully-mouse!

And I wanted to do a voice-over too...I was thinking of recording and converting my voice - but since AI was strictly discouraged, I just left it. And I just did not know who to approach for a little-boy voice! But mumbling is an interesting idea!

And I appreciate your attention to the games you have  played too - you have a lot of sincere and constructive things to say!

thank you so much for your honest feedback!  I was hoping giving the instructions as "hover and click at the right time" with the animation clearly having a peak state will be intuitive enough...but I see it might not be the case...

and I've been wondering how to finetune this mechanic to make it more enjoyable....do you think giving some kind of auditory feedback that rises and falls will make it easier to connect with?

Ohh thank youuuu...I had joined this jam thinking I'll go out of my comfort zone in terms of coding since I'd 2 weeks; but I ended up just playing to my strengths, so had some doubts - but getting such appreciative feedback...I'm secretly quite proud! This is only my second game jam.

Hack indeed! I do think it's smart work hehe. But whatever I do, I do with intention - so I feel good about it.

Yeah, they're definitely not opposites - you guys showed both!

Yes, I did notice - her writing flows for the most part - and even though it looks simple, it sometimes takes a lot  of efforts to make writing look effortless! Hey, I am sure you were dealing with a lot of constraints, and if I am not wrong, you had your own game to focus on, which you were painstakingly translating to be able to do justice to your ideas! ( I am still in the middle of that, taking me time to process, I wish I knew Portuguese hehe).

And it was still you who contributed in making this game playable, I have a feeling they're probably just grateful to you! But yes, maybe in the future they can make their ideas shine even more with Ren'py!
