Essentially what the title says, i like to either put on a long youtube video or whatever album/song ive been listening to lately, some recent examples include:

Ektomorf - Hangok (whole album)

Ektomorf - Fereg, Last Fight, Nem Engedem (individual songs)

Megadeth - 13 (song)

Strong Deformity - Trust

Audiotopsy - LYLAB

Primus - Suck on this

Pitchshifer - Deviant (whole album pretty much)

Kickback - Ressurect, Count Me Out

For me it really depends on the project. Most of my game projects contain music on their own, and then having another source of music is not really a handy thing for me to have.

Most of the time, I listen to youtube videos especially podcasts.

However, during night or evening, I switched to listening Anime tracks.

Mostly extended video game tracks. I'm always looking for new stuff, but these are some on my playlist:

Recca OST (NES)

Zora's Domain (Night) - BotW

Ufouria Overworld Theme (NES)

Thermosphere (KH3 remix)

Ancient Cistern (Skyward Sword)

Akrillic (Plok)

Journey to Silius OST (NES)

Champion Alder Battle Theme

Super Mario Jazz Covers

Zero Gravity (Einhander)

Ta1t0 Top Speed OST

And one of the non-video game songs on my list:

Awaken - Yes

Normally either dreamy dungeon synth or black metal

I started delving into Dungeon Synth recently ⚔️ I'd love to hear your favourite artists/albums if you don't mind sharing them ^^

I like Sequestered Keep and Fief, I often out on ULK or Fogweaver if I'm trying to drift off to sleep. Quest master is good too. Atlantean Sword is another I've listened to a bit recently. Best album for me is either Fief II by Fief or Depressive Silence II from 1996.

I've also released a few DS albums/experiments. They are on my page. Check them. Cheers

Lots of Studio Ghibli lofi soundtracks :)

As weird as it may sound, I listen to tracks I created for my existing projects.  For some reason, it gives me a stronger motivation to work on my own projects by listening to stuff I have already created.

I'm relieved to know that I'm not the only person who does this.

Yeah, I have something like 2 1/2 hours of my own tracks to listen to now, spread out over 5 or 6 different titles.

I also listen to the music I selected for the project. Even if it was baroque music for "Building Baroque". It also kind of a test whether the music is good as background music.

I listen to a lot of cover songs and relatively unknown singers.

Well Listen To This Song

I like to listen to music that shares the same vibe as the project I'm working on, so it depends on what I'm doing. Ambient music with no lyrics/voices is perfect when I need to focus (like when writing). I started listening to Dungeon Synth, Ambient and Dark Ambient music  recently. Perfect for when I need to focus and relax ^^ Here are some of my favorite pieces so far :

Asleep and well hidden by Kammarheit
Stormens ryttare by Ornatorpet
Mineral Hall by Louie Zong
Gently veiled by Silent Cabin

like old music. music that is on stuff like records and cassettes.

EDM or Electro-Swing for some reason, not sure why, but electro-swing just gets me in a deving mood, @.@

Relaxing Ambient mostly.

All the Crane Wives albums! I feel like they're such an underrated band
