What do you like about your game?
A wild two-week experiment resulted in a relatively decent prototype with promising dynamics.

this is great thank you

This is great too, thank you :)

Love the polish and the chill vibes! The concept of being a light ray avoiding black holes and lighting up stars is fun too!

Really nice art design. It's pretty satisfying when you hit that arc just right, especially when you're trying to squeeze between the dark spots. UI was really slick as well, good job!

The visual style is beautiful, the UI and soft colors and effects are just so good! Connecting the constellations correctly is a fun if underexplained mechanic, but I did laugh when I completely messed up Taurus and got a "Taurus...?" at the end. Unfortunately I had a bit of trouble playing it for a long time because of the way the screen rotates itself entirely when you turn -- everything spinning around you plus the player's heavy turn radius was pretty disorienting. The polish was incredible and it felt like a popular mobile game.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I’m glad you enjoyed the game :) I also had feedback from a friend who felt dizzy while playing. Therefore, I believe I’ll have to include an option to turn the camera rotation off and add some warning at the start.

Hi, just finished checking out your game, it feels very polished and relaxing. This could be a very cool project to extend and polish even further after the end of the jam! Cool minimalistic visuals and particle effects. Really good job with this one! One of the games I enjoyed the most until now. <3

Good luck with the jam, you deserve a lot more <33333

Very beautiful and zen!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! Shortly before the submission deadline, I added a lot of “darkness” regions to the level, and now I think there’s too much of it. I think of cleaning up the game after the jam. I would prefer it to be more of a zen puzzle with some occasional challenges.

That's a nice one. Simple and solid. Good job.

This is so polished and enjoyable, from the visuals to the music, and the gameplay is executed so well by being approachable but also offering a challenge to whoever wants to go for maximizing points. I liked it a lot.

Developer

Thank you very much for your feedback! I am so glad that you enjoyed the game :)

Love the gameplay and polish! I think this is a really cool concept and I loved seeing the names of stars and constellations! I think if you took this game further, it could do with some kind of auxiliary mechanic, like smaller particles you have to pick up to keep going faster (a bit like slither.io) or something like that, to keep it interesting between the stars. Great entry overall :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I plan to add all 12 Zodiac constellations later after the jam. Adding more elements would also be nice. I thought about ‘light pills’ to heal you and a couple of more ‘enemies’ to add challenge. Speed-up pills are also a good idea.

I really like the mood of the game with its music and clean visuals. I wish the controls were a little more responsive. It feels really difficult to control. Maybe the star detection box should be larger. When I miss one, it's very hard to turn around to get it.

Developer

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I didn’t have much time for the level design during the jam, so all the ‘dark matter’ regions and black holes are currently in almost random places. Now, when I look at the game, I want to, of course, rework the levels. I think it would be nice to have more relaxing, zen experience here, with occasional challenging zones.

The music is great and the game looks great but the controls are kind of hard, the turning is not sharp enough and sometimes I just orbit around the stars without ever reaching it. The concept is interesting and I like it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I’m not a composer at all. Finding free assets with a ‘cosmic’ theme that would match the gameplay was not that easy. But the one I found, indeed, fit well :)

Interesting game, I think I never played anything like it. UI somewhat gets in the way of playing when reaching a star, obscuring some information (maybe making it transparent would help), but otherwise the game is a pleasant spacey experience. :)

Thank you for your feedback!

There's some cool ideas in here. Unfortunately I'm getting some pretty substantial freezes in the browser version. I think that leaning into the "Universe is dark" direction visually would have been better, there's an awful lot of stars in the background at the beginning lol.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for playing! I would appreciate it much, if you specify when the freezes happen to you. Do they happen at some specific moments or randomly?

I think it might have been related to objects with darkness spawning, but I don't really know unfortunately. It happened a bunch in the first level and when I was near the black hole, but not in it.
