What do you like about your game?
I'm pleased I was able to create some weird gameplay mechanics that depends on some visual effects. I'm also pleased with myself for composing the music, it's only my second time doing that and I think it turned out alright.

Really liked the presentation and the overall concept! I think a slightly more expanded tutorial would help the gameplay cause there were a few runs where I wasn't sure how to use certain tools and/or what I was supposed to be looking for to identify shapeshifeter objects. Still, nice work!
well done, there’s not much to say, the gameplay loop is great, the visuals too, the accessibility too, worst i can see is the timer being really short.
congrats you made quite a good game
Very fun idea! Makes me think of something that might pop up in the Portal backrooms. The music sets a great tone, very good job.
Really fun concept!
The music and sound design made me appreciate this game a lot.
Congrats!!!
Very cool mechanic! I really enjoyed playing it. I messed up a couple of times, but after a while I've figured it out and it was really enjoyable. Good job!
Loved the concept and execution, though I wish there was a clearer visual difference to sounds using the little sound device thing. I dont have speakers on my pc, so I wasn't able to actually rely on the tool without just guessing.
Ah, I put the visualization there for that exact scenario, sad to hear it didn't work out. The visualization for the different sound effects should have been fairly distinct, were you clicking in more than one spot on each part?
That does make me curious, though, how did you add the sound effects to your game without being able to hear them?
I was, clicking in more than one spot, I guess the visualizer just wasn't different enough for me, haha. And, for Aberrant, I just searched for the sounds on a different device, and then set it up in-engine at around 60% volume.
You should invest in at least a pair of earbuds or something lol
I have some bluetooth headphones, they just ran out of juice a little before I started playtesting stuff lol. But still! Amazing game, loved it, 10/10.
It would be nice if the game had a ‘fast restart’ option so failure doesn’t feel so frustrating. Have to wait quite a bit to get back into the game after a botched attempt.
Agreed! In a more complete version, I'd have an actual start menu with a skip intro button. The game restarting at all is something I only barely threw in at 10 minutes before submission, haha. Another thing on the list for the inevitable "after the jam" version.
That was so fun! I loved the music in particular. Really neat concept!!
Delightful game, the visuals on the scanning devices were really excellent. Love the Half Life vibe - I take pride in beating all the puzzles on the first try >:3
Good game! I didn't get a single test right. I don't understand how to correctly identify the anomalies, its incredibly difficult to get it right. I like the little scream the shapeshifter makes when it gets launched into space lol
Thank you for being so positive despite that, lol. Here's a few tips based on things I noticed during play testing (If you're someone else reading this and haven't played the game yet, I think it's more fun if you go in blind!):
-It's better to use one tool on all four parts at once, as opposed to using every tool before moving on to the next part. That way, it's easier to notice a difference in readings since the image of what it's "supposed" to look like is fresh in your mind.
-Sometimes the alien can trick a tool, so if the readings look the same across all four parts, they probably are! That just means you need to try a different tool.
-The acoustic tool (the iPod) needs to be used in several locations along the length of the part to catch any weird spots. It helps to spam it as you're moving it up or down the part.
I hope this call into the Cosmonaut tipline has been helpful. But regardless, thank you for checking out my game!
Minor bug discovered: The game only restarts once, then fails to restart again after that. So, you'll need to close and reopen if you need more than two tries.
It's one of those annoying things that only took one line of code to fix, but the deadline's already passed. Ah, well, nevertheless...
I had a lot of fun with it. It feels like it belongs in the Half Life universe, and has great music. The tools for finding the aliens are all unique and well done visually and audibly.
I really liked the concept/gameplay, visuals and sound design (which is basically everything a game has to offer anyway now that i think about it) Impressive, well done.
