Played your game several days ago, and it's fine overall, I like how there's progression and new obstacles appear, but it plays like one of those zany physics games, like "Getting over it", where you do a wrong move, and you lose tons of your progress, and even if you don't, it still feels like it, cause the ball falls pretty slowly, and all you can do is helplessly watch it. So I didn't really play it that much, got to spinning cross things, and then dropped it.
Oh, and the small easter eggs, such as UFOs flying in the background are charming.
Was past the point with the T blocks, then the game crashed.
Fun game! The controls feel nice and responsive, I like that it progressively gets harder. Though it has rage-game elements, they are easy going to make the ascent not too frustrating, like the ball falling down slowly, the V blocks even in high levels catching the ball safely and the horizontal velocity slowing down so the ball doesn't get out of control after missing a platform.
The sea sound is also soothing for the moments when the ball drops 6 platforms.
Sometimes the ball landed too close to the borders of the screen, which made aiming horizontal shots difficult. Also the game froze/crashed, it happened when the ball landed between the side of the screen and the left side of a V block. The sound stuttered and the chrome window froze.
This has a surprising amount of polish for being such a simple game, nice work!
That's a shame. I'll have to try and reproduce that crash. It's probably something to do with the 3-way collision between ball, platform, and screen edge.
I'll add some buffer space to the screen edges and that should make it easier when the ball is near one of them.
Nice little game for wasting some time. It would be nice to have a progress counter or something to see how far I am and to compare to other people. A few times I needed to react quickly and accidentally moved my mouse outside of the window which make me drop the ball. It would also be nice to see a bit higher up.
Fun game. Really enjoyed the risk reward of the last bounce deciding whether to keep to save a fall or use it for more height. Would have liked more screen to work with. I kept wanting to try for higher and riskier bounces but just couldn't due to the low ceiling height. Also the music seems to stop after the starting screen. Not sure if that's intentional or not.
Making my way up and slowly seeing the birds replaced by more and more planes and rockets, soon I will reach the great beach ball star constellation.
Yeah, it's very fun engaging gameplay. Even when falling down very far, I always wanted to try again immediately, I feel the placement of V planks on the left and right every once in a while made for nice organic checkpoints too. Like you pointed out, just needs some sweet juicy SFX. Great job!

That's fair. Thanks for your feedback.
Hey. I played your game as part of a Demo Day stream. If you didn't catch the stream live, here's a link to the video:
You can see my other demo day 46 streams as well on my channel.
Thanks for sharing that!
Neat idea, could be a decent game for phones. Explanation in the beginning needs to be clearer.
That's the plan, to release for mobile. I'll try to add some more info to the tutorial.
Took me a moment to figure out how the game works, but once I did it was a nice little pleasant experience.
Thanks! That seems to be a common problem.

fun stuff, but i had a hard time understanding how the mouse and UI for it worked/what it represented.
Thanks! That seems to be a common problem. I tried to communicate the bare minimum the player needs, but I see that I need to tell a little bit more.
If you dont want to redesign the UI, you could probably solve it by having a simple explanation in the beginning.
That's what I mean. I need to improve on how things are explained to the player.
Thank you, especially for the video! It's extremely helpful to see what I need to communicate to the player better.
cool concept i like that when you fall you don't die just lose progress but only being able to move up slowly stops the flow I think.
What would you have done differently?
That's a good point. Maybe I'll add a bit of buffer to the game area for the desktop version. Thanks for the feedback!

The music stopping is intentional; it's only a 25-second loop that will get annoying pretty quickly.
I'll try tinkering with the screen size. I want to make this phone-friendly so I'll have to see what resolutions work well there as well. Thanks!
I like it. Simple yet enjoyable.
A counter for how many planks we've cleared would be nice.
Oh that's a good idea. I did want to add some way to keep track of distance, but that would be a better metric.
I hadn't even considered this. You're meant to hold the mouse button or key, not click it. I'll have to think about making that clear.
Thanks for your feedback and for the insightful video. That's definitely an important consideration.

Thank you! Now I'm trying to justify to myself the work it would take to implement the great beach ball star constellation.
