This seems super early so there's not much to say aside from talking about the basics. My notes while playing:

  • Love the sort of Crimson Skies-ish setting and designs. This kind of setting is sorely under-done.
  • Target indicators didn't seem to line up with the targets when they were off-center
  • Exposure is weird and sometimes snaps between values?
  • I set up a plane in the hangar with cannons and bombs. It's neat to see it react and that this stuff matters.
  • The physics feel really stiff. There's such a sharp transition between the yawing for small movements and then a sharp 90 degree bank when you go just tiny bit past that.
  • The guns are really loud.
  • Takeoff was easy but I found landing really difficult because of the stiff controls.

I can see the beginnings of a fun game. The plane controls were a little unforgiving but I was able to hit targets as needed.

Wish I could use a gamepad rather than keyboard.

I didn't know how to shoot my guns so I was pressing spacebar over and over and the game soft crashed and my plane disappeared. It's not truly frozen because the clouds are moving. Esc and restart worked.

I like the idea of this game and it feels like it could be really cool but the controls hold it back. I have to use the mouse because it's where the cannon fire button is. But as soon as I touch the mouse it makes any input on wasdqe useless. The mouse controls are too sluggish, I want to control it myself but it won't let me.

Would be nice to have the camera follow the plane when using keyboard controls, right now it's a little awkward since the plane always wants to go back to its original direction after turning with the keyboard. Speed didn't feel too responsive to the throttle setting, I think just a higher max speed might help with that.

Was playing at 1440p and the target indicators didn't line up with the targets.

Physics just need a little smoothing I think but are otherwise solid, nice to have manual control over the flaps. Was able to land on the ground really easily which is cool for an early demo.

Being able to double up on cannons in the hangar is really fun. Overall a really good start.

this game kind of reminded me of when i used to play il 2 sturmovik.

the sound still needs some work imho

i love how bouncy the airplane is in the hangar lol

Not bad for a prototype.

The plane handles smoothly, but trying to pitch the plane without making it spin is complicated.
I know the WASD keys can override camera controls but the camera doesn't follow the plane when you do that so as soon as mouse controls resume the plane can spaz out.
The cannon's convergence and zeroing would be useful to know.

Mission 1 went smoothly but didn't end at 0 targets, I assume the next level is not ready yet?
The arena worked too, the enemy planes are good at intercepting you, but you're so much more maneuverable with flaps that it's easy to get hits as they endlessly try to turn into you.
I also beat 3v1 by going straight down to ground level and making two of the enemy planes crash, not sure if it was with the ground or each other though.

What's there is fun, I'm hoping to see some real gameplay next DD.

Mission 1 accomplished.

No crashes (neither the plane, nor the game), no lag, all smooth.

The lighting would sometimes just change in an instant, that cant be right. Also its hard to tell the range of your gun, as the projectiles are seemingly visible forever. I'd suggest to slowly make them invisible at some distance, otherwise there is this yellow blob of shots accumulating in front of you.

The flying controls were tough for me, not sure if im just bad at flying or if theres something wonky. Hunting down stationary targets was fine, doing a 1 vs 2 arena was pretty much impossible for me, because i couldnt turn around fast enough and the enemies would just tail me the whole time.

Looking forward for mission 2!

Do you use flaps in combat and play with thrust? If not then I need to explain it in tutorial level too

Thanks for feedback!

Oh right, the flaps! No i just tried the throttle.

Im pretty much a newb to flight simulators, so im indeed just bad. Maybe make it a hint in the first mission that has moving targets or something. Lots of people skip tutorials, especially for action games i guess (including me).
