Just a heads up there is no "end" so to speak it just keeps going with a boss every 5 levels so you can just keep going and the bosses get more health and shoot faster (level 50+ gets pretty intense)

Nice game! I wished there was score for box opened, I had much fun going through the boxes stealing supplies XD

this is a great idea! I will definitely be added a proper score to the later versions of the game along with a global scoreboard

Fun idea, i like that the robot's movements depend on yours. However, i feel like the open area makes the copycat part a bit irrelevant in regards to player choice, and i ended up just going from box to box and killing robots if they got too close, without paying much attention to how my movements affect theirs. Maybe try for a more confined space and make the robots a bit more of a threat?

Developer

true the earlier levels are pretty easy it's when you start getting up to level 10+ that the robots start becoming a real issue with space in between the crates and getting to the exit. I tossed up starting the game at level 4 or higher but figured it would be better to have a very linear progression curve

I thought the same, maybe if it was on a grid like map and be more puzzle like focus would fit more with the movement of the enemies. But the concept is pretty interesting :D

Cool game. I really like the boss rounds. Nice Job!

Just a heads up, this wasn't working for me originally so I checked the developer console and it was printing the following error:

error saving game DOMException: Failed to read the 'localStorage' property from 'Window': Access is denied for this document.

I did a quick read on the Mozilla documentation for the Window.localStorage object and it states:

Note that if the user blocks cookies, browsers will probably interpret this as an instruction to prevent the page from persisting data.

After reading this, I enabled cookies and the game worked. This error effectively prevented the game from rendering the crates and enemies (only displayed the player and the background). If this happens to someone else, I would try enabling cookies or using an alternate browser with cookies enabled.

this is super good to know! I'm on brave that has cookies disabled by default but you can still interact with localStorage so didn't see this in my play testing. Thanks so much for digging into the error!

Absolutely, no problem!

Bug is fixed now indeed! Nice game, I like the boss fights :)

I'm glad you were able to fix that glitch with the graphics! That boss at the end... so unfair lol. Cool little game, really nice mechanic with the copycat theme. Good fun!

slight bug: the exit spawned on top of a crate once and I couldn't get to it, the boss is also a bit easy, but the game is quite fun, pretty creative, and looks/sounds good! good submission.

The game seems to be broken for me, the graphics keep trailing and resetting doesn’t reset- it spawns in more. I believe I saw someone talk about it on Discord as well? https://i.imgur.com/TXLCKaY.png

There is a bug where the background doesn't cover the canvas 😥 so all the frames are stacked, I reverted to a previous build hopefully the movement and robot state bugs that I fixed in the latest build aren't too noticeable
