The idea is cool but I think it needs more features. It's too easy and maybe with more challenges the game can improve a lot!
I agree that there needs to be some more challenge. Thank you for playing :D
I love this it does need to be a little harder though I just put down a bunch of the energy makers and I got tons of energy but overall, Great job 👍
I agree that it needs a bit of challenge there were supposed to be enemy like things. Thank you for playing :D
It's a fun concept and I like the idea a lot, it's just waaaay too easy at the moment. There's nothing stopping you from just waiting to get enough for a generator and then spamming them down in a small area since each generator just gives you more and more energy, and then spamming the lights and 10 houses you need once you have enough.
The presentation is also pretty rough but that's honestly normal for a game jam. The music was a neat fit though.
It's not a bad start, though! Definitely wish there was a more polished version that needed actual strategy, like more resources required than energy and placing limitations.
Sorry for taking a while to reply I agree that the challenge is lacking. There was features to make buildings not be able to be placed near each other but it has to be increased. More resources could make the game interesting so maybe if I continue this project I might try it out. Thank you for your feedback. :D
It's so simple, yet so good!
The gameplay was very fun, it had a lot of polishing and it looks very neat (I love how far away the camera is/how small the player is although I have a QHD monitor, so I had to go closer to it than I would've want to apprecient the sprite animation of the player haha)
A common theme I saw through the jam was how many games would work very well if they got an update or a remake, basically making in into a "full" experience (it kinda is already but I hope you understand what I mean)
So yeah, I really enjoyed it! Keep it up ^^
Edit: PLEASE fix the "bouncy aura thingys" it makes it way more complicated than it has to be :D
Thank you for the feedback. If I make a post jam version I would probably fix the bouncy aura things or communicate it better. Thank you for commenting :D
Okay they are few problems, there should be a grid snap because it's hard to get things to where you want them and the game should stop you from placing stuff over other stuff and when placing an light there should be an green circle showing the light radius and when placing it the other lights should also have blue circles showing their light radius so it wouldn't be that annoying to fix the little black spots during the animation in the light. And also DIFFERENTLY SIZED PIXELS, pleaaasseeee make sure that the pixel size is consistent (I have already said that to like 10 games from this jam that have pixel art, but it's still important.) But the game is super fun, easily most fun in this jam and would win many other jam games from other jams too, it's very fun trying to build your city, but there is little strategy behind it, so something that would make it required would be good, but when I tried to force some strategy to my game by not just spamming everything everywhere it was very very fun. Also is the ground color that there is, the bacground color of the camera or just an object, because the grass ends at some point so that was probably hand placed, but I tried to find the end of the ground and there didn't seem to be it (didn't look for it for long, when the grass disappeared). I put my map to a image there (I spent about 15min making that to make some edges look seemless and removing the UI when I combined many screenshots, but if there was some kind of strategy to try to split places like that it would be very cool.)
I agree that building system could use some work . I didn't think to add previews so that is a great idea thanks! The grass was hand placed and the background is the camera not an object. I agree that there should be some more strategy there where plans for specified building requirements like must be near a light or must be far from another house. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for all the feedback. :D (also you can walk out of the map it just might take a bit lol).
The concept is very interesting and the building aspect of it very fun!
(I managed to break it by building a lot of generators, tho :p)
I would really like to see what you could do with more time available, so if you decide to update/remake this game in the future I would love to try it out! ^^
Yeah the balancing is off lol. Glad to hear you would like a post jam version. Thank you for playing :D
Overall good game, the building system is very fun, the only things are I would have preferred a more interactable tutorial, and it was quite easy once I found a strategy. Definitely would be interested in a more polished post-jam version with more content. Good work!
Thank you for letting me know that a post jam version would interesting. Thanks for your time :D
The lighting and build system is pretty cool, but I could just build a whole lot of power generators, then lights, then the houses. The challenge was lacking. On the other hand, I enjoyed the song that would occasionally play and the animations, sound feedback and textures were nice.
I agree its easy there was someone suggested to add a sort of enemy system but time cut it. Thanks for playing. :D
The lighting is cool and it is impressive to see a bunch of cool mechanics created in such a small amount of time.
Thank you for playing and for the kind words. :D
Had a ton fun playing this one. I could see it expanded to larger experience. Great game.
Glad to hear that. I do think it could be a bigger game. Thank you for playing.
Love the chill atmosphere. Great job!
Thank you for playing the game and taking the time to post a comment.
