What a cool vibe! Really enjoyed the style and environment - definitely needs a little more gameplay or story but the building blocks are there.

Developer

Thank you! I totally agree, I'm honestly excited to see how it's going to turn out when we implement everything we wanted!

The creepy atmosphere of this game has so much potential. You have the environment, the feel, and the actors. Now you need a narrative and a mystery. I look forward to seeing this evolve.

Developer

Thank you! CorporateFilth did a great job with the environment and atmosphere!

Nice eerie atmosphere! I felt like I was playing Pokemon snap back in the zone of STALKER :D
Was constantly waiting to get jumped by something around the corner.

In all the empty houses, I felt like I had to check every room with and without the camera lense to see if there were ghosts lurking around. I don't know if you added something like that, but could have been cool. Only found the deers, pigs and dogs so maybe the other creature you hinted about was something like that.

Cool and pretty unique idea for a game!

Thank you for playing! We tried to stay clear from the supernatural and focus on irradiated animals, but we definitely talked about ait! Maybe for a full game we should reconsider

"The ghosts only visible through camera" is just such a long running trope that I couldn't not think about it. With the eeriness and the silent-hill-esque use of thick fog. One possibility would be to somehow embrace the trope while also averting from it?

Like... hmm.. one good example comes to mind:
In Outer Wilds you can only see this "ghost matter" while looking through a camera. It's a kind of radiation that kills you if you walk into it.

echoing what’s been said before, i love the atmosphere in this! it’s really spooky and mysterious, it works super well for what it’s trying to do. the gameplay itself could’ve definitely been scarier, though! the only real “scare” i got was from walking along the beach and getting hurt by what i thought was an invisible monster, but no, that was just the radiation. ^^” i think a lot more could be done with the camera modes in the game, too. it’d be super cool for there to be a creature that you’re only able to see properly with the up-close camera mode. (unless there was one and i missed it? i did only find 3…) i also thought the photo rating system was done really well! all in all, great job!

Developer

Thank you! I agree with everything you said! thanks for the feedback and for playing!

hint: there's one other creature on the island, but you gotta find it! :P

Atmosphere is insane, felt like a horror game but I was just supposed to take pictures. I was on edge the entire time playing for no reason at all. Such a fantastic experience and I love the art.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

we had to do some on the spot changes because of running out of time, but you were supposed to get " jump scared" by animals that you didn't notice attacking you. Thank you for playing and thank you for your feedback!

Conceptually though I really like where you ended up. The game feels like a commentary on Paranoia or the fear of the unknown

Hello I dont make games for jams but wanted to give my thoughts on this game. Its interesting and kinda creepy. I liked the style and camera. The ui could be improved but its still a good game. Solid 8/10 good job.

Developer

we agree, there's plenty that can be improved on, and when judging is over we will definitely be doing some updates, and it already seems like we might need to make this a full game! Thanks for positive and constructive criticism! :)

Cool neat game, it's short and sweet. I like the different behavior of the animals and the different techniques to get shots of them. Creepy atmosphere as well. Well crafted game, good job!

Developer

wow, thank you so much!

So creepy! Really thought the scoring mechanic at the end was unique and fun. And it looks like a Godot 4 game?? Exciting if true :D Props to whoever did your models and textures, they really nailed the aesthetic. Great entry!

Developer(+1)

It is godot 4.2 ! It was my first 3d project. Corporate filth was in charge of basically anything graphics wise, and he did do an excellent job!!!

Nice! Saw the jolt dll in the zip file and assumed lol. Glad to see Corporate filth getting the love in the comments, but the team did a great job making it cohesive!

Scariest pokemon snap I've ever played, love exploring this creepy place you've built, wonderful atmosphere. Amazing work!

Really good interpretation for the theme, and the design is very interesting, i would love to see a bigger and polished version. Really good job dude!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We had a lot of fun doing it! I'm that with more time, if enough people continue to show interest, we will make it hapend!

Very interesting idea, I could see a lot of different ways that you could build upon the concept. It did take me a little bit to get a hold on what made a picture worth more stars. Very good job building atmosphere though! Nice work.

Developer

thank you! we had a lot of fun doing it, and unfortunately couldn't fit everything we wanted to in so short time
