How does your game represent "Power"?
Your health bar is a draining power meter and you need to collect batteries to charge it. Your dash costs power as well.

Lot of speed running potential in this one! If you continue to work on this project I recommend having sound effects for when you shoot or get hit. Great start!

Developer

Thank you for the suggestions!

Great music! wub wub! I really enjoyed the main character and shooting all the things. Good work on this!

Developer

Thank you haha, glad you liked it

Fun! If the wall jump is a bit janky at times. There are not enough side-scrolling shooter-platformers anymore!

A few ideas to try if you're still working on the game post-jam:

- Try keeping the enemies from firing unless they're within a shorter distance from the player, and maybe lower the speed of the projectiles so there's less temptation to snipe since they'll be more defenseless from afar. This can make the enemies feel much more life-like as they will seem to respond to the player, if that makes sense. If that change makes it too easy,  you can balance this out by making the projectiles more damaging.

- Try adding simple sound effects (e.g. from https://chr15m.itch.io/jsfxr)  for the main actions in the game: So a sound for shooting, a sound for jumping, and a sound for taking damage. It's amazing how much sound adds to the "feel", trust me!

Cheers!

Glad you liked it, and thank you for the advice!

Good music choice-- made it feel badass speedrunning through the stage while shooting all the enemies haha. That was fun!

Game was fun to play, though there was noticeable movement jank. Knowing that there was health in every enemy made me a lot less afraid of dying, in a good way.

Loved going super fast and the movement options made it even better. Only issue I have is that you can't really see your HP on the web build, and you can very easily get stuck on collision when you don't want to, but overall the speed and being able to fling yourself super high was really enjoyable!

I liked it, a bit fast paced and getting stuck on terrain wasn't too bad  (imo) you just have to play around it and expect it. For people reading, f you fullscreen the game it fixes the sizing issue GrublordGames had.

Developer

We updated the game description with some more mechanics we forgot to include (sorry about that) that will make the game even faster, feel free to play it again!

You get stuck on the terrain constantly, which is a bit of a shame, because it makes the game kinda annoying to play.

Hi, we forgot to include some game mechanics in the description, you can dash with left shift, and wall climb with just space bar (can even launch into the air with it). Sorry about that!

I see, thanks for the reply then.

hey, the UI is cut up in the web build, I cant really see whats going on, and the noise is a bit of a jumpscare, maybe start with the sound a bit lower

Developer

Thanks for brining it up, fullscreening the game will help resolve the issue
