Simple mechanics, but great level design. Very fun game. Good job!
great game i like the mechanic and the detail that the color of the player changes great job
This game was very cool!
Very fun game! Really liked your simple designs, they fit the theme perfectly. This reminded me a tiny bit of Celeste's jumping mechanic, minus the spam jump button. Good way to make it unique! Enjoyed this a lot! Only thing I'd tweak is your jump sound volume. It's a bit jarring compared to the rest of the game, but the sound itself is cool. Overall, great work on this!
Would appreciate it if you checked out my game too!
The gameplay is good! It feels responsive and fair, the audio feedback is clear, and the levels are challenging but still easy enough to play in a reasonable time :) Great jam game with potential for more
Cool game with lots of creative ideas. I like it! Graphically you can still do something, but the Gameplay and Sound are very good and pleasant!
I thought this game was really cool, this is a twist I haven't seen anyone do yet with the jump being less powerful over time. I enjoyed how some of the obstacles early on took away your ability to jump rather then just killing you, that was super clever and very much helped with the learning curve of the game! Some of the puzzles were really clever too, I liked how in level 15 you forced the player to not have a jump but still move around. I think level 19 was my favorite.
If you wanted to improve, adding some particle fx could help increase the game feel while still keeping to the simplistic style. Music would be a nice touch too.
Overall, fun game!
Check out mine if you get a chance!
Thanks a lot for the review, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'll definitely check your game out!
I really loved the mechanic of the game, and the level design was very good, only with occasional setbacks, though it was addictive to get past it! Your implementation of the theme, I thought was kind of backwards: more is less, but it was good anyway. However, I was forced to rate MUSIC at one star as there was none. Overall, more polish and, maybe, slightly nicer visuals could have improved my experience. The tutorial in the beginning was also good.
The level design and the difficulty curve are both really good!
Completed the game in its entirety, and it all ran super smoothly! This was an incredibly creative way to implement the theme into the game, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The graphical and audio elements made everything clear as I played, and I had no confusion in what things did or weren't supposed to do!
There are a lot of great design features within this entry, and everything is introduced at a good pace with a great difficulty curve! I think a sound track would also help the game along, but for a first game jam, this was awesome! Amazing work! :D
Extremely creative implementation of the theme. The art direction was clear for communicating and I had a lot of fun!
This game was cool, and I really enjoyed playing it. it's fun and has applied the theme very creatively.
Thanks a lot for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed jumping around :D
Got stuck on level 14 but overall, the game has a very simple but great application of the jam's theme. Great job!
Thanks a lot! I realize now I should've spent more time thinking out the difficulty of some of the levels, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Cool game!
Loved it! This was a very neat concept yet so simple. I think you matched the theme very well with the less is more with both the gameplay and the aesthetics of the game. I couldn't finish by the way. Got stuck on level 19 but that's what made it fun!
Thanks a lot for your comment, it means a lot! Yeah, about the later levels, by the point I finally got to level design, I was so used to the controls that I thought them (mistakenly) to be intuitive. Lesson learned!
They were intuitive. I didn't spend too long trying to beat it and I'm not that great of a gamer myself with a keyboard. They are beatable, just not by me, : )
Love the idea. Very creative and good controls. Maybe next time you could team up with someone that could do Art/Music, so that you can focus on all of the stuff that you enjoy, while still having a nice looking game
Thank you so much! Yeah, I'll probably be looking for a collaboration for the next jam. This one was my first and I kind of just dove in. I really liked your game btw!
