I really liked your take on the theme. I thought the art was adorable, and had a good time figuring things out on my own. Great submission! Keep it up!
Nice puzzle mechanics, had a fun figuring it out. Wish the game was a little longer tho, but nice job!
This game is super cute!!! I love the art style, though I found it quite hard to get to grips with the mechanics, but that's probably just me being dumb lol
Haha, thank you! I appreciate the feedback :)
I really feel like this is a sleeper hit out of the entries..
Visuals:
The games art style brought me back to my childhood of playing the gameboy. The aesthetics were fantastic and everything worked so well together. I also loved the character design and the grandma! lol
Innovation:
Who knew playing a robot who gardens could be fun and make it a puzzle game. Not me, but you certainly did. This was a great concept and you executed on it fully! Nice work here.
Sounds/Music:
Sadly there were no sounds or music, but honestly, that made my playthrough even better. I was streaming it, and I made my own grandma voice. It was hilarious and I was entertained all the way through even without a single sound! But it would have been nice to see what you would have added if you had the time!
Overall:
Like I said earlier, a real sleeper hit out of the entries! The puzzle mechanic was done to an almost perfection. The difficulty was right where it needed to be, and the style was incredibly cute and charming. *In old lady voice* "you did very well, sonny!"
I streamed the game here, at this time stamp 1:32:00.
Haha, I remember watching this stream, it was very entertaining : ) Thanks for the detailed feedback I really appreciate it, and I'm glad you enjoyed playing my game!
I really hope to get music/sound into the game once the voting period ends.
That was a great way to use the theme. This game looks so polished and the pixel art was indeed awesome. You created so much without even any color. That's just amazing! The Color bubble above the head was great too. That was the best way the game could have been any better and you just did it. Loved it a lot. Thanks a lot for this game!!
Please consider playing and rating my game as well. I would really appreciate it!
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I am about to try you game now, sorry it took a while!
What a cute game i loved it :D I really wanted that when completing a level all flowers color shows up for a brief moment :d but i dont know if it breaks the games cute style. Also level design was solid and the tutorial was clearly understandable. Overall i had fun with this great work well done :D
Note: I would be happy if you could check out my game as well :d
Thank you for playing! I really appreciate it :)
I have played and finished you game and am writing a response as I type haha.
Very very cool. It took me a while to understand the idea at the beginning to be honest, even after that nice tutorial, but that's probably on me. It's a really cool puzzle game, congrats!
Thanks so much! I'm sure I could have made the tutorial more clear (but with less text).
thats such a cute game. Well done tutorial and cool mechanics! would have been easier if flower appeared only when their color get added to the gameplay. in the first level you want to merge red and blue but you have a white flower as well, it kinda messes it up. Trial and error i think is not as good as just letting the player know the flowers one at a time
Thanks for the feedback, and yes I agree. The other flowers should have been slowly introduced. I'll have to fix that after the voting period.
interesting game, for a long time delved into what and how, great game
Haha, yeah, I'm sure there are ways I could have made it less confusing. Thank you!
Really great idea.
i love the level design. it is simple and challenging.
mechanic is really nice
Thank you! I appreciate you trying it out : )
Really nice puzzle game, I just wish there were more levels ^^. Cute art, interesting mechanic, only thing missing is music and sfx ... well and more levels that I can play ;)
Great job!
Thanks, I really appreciate it :) Yeah, I'm hoping to add the missing assets after the voting period.
Love it. I felt big brain when i won :P and it was the right amount of explanation. obviously some music will be nice, but i think you could expand something like this after the jam into something very relaxing
Thanks so much for playing. Yeah, I'm trying to compose something during the voting period.
Great game, only a bit hard to find the cause and effect in the beginning. and how does it relates to the theme?
Thank you :) In terms of the theme, I think it could be interpreted in multiple ways, for example:
Less color = more complexity/memory/etc.
Or even a more abstract view:
The lack of color still can produce more. The more in this case is flowers.
But I wanted to leave it open for others to decide.
Really cute game, one of the most interesting I played, I like the slow pace and the challenge it gives! Really nice job!!
Thank you! I appreciate you playing my game :)
Confusing at times, but very fun game. It was challenging, but in a good way. Good job!
Thank you so much for playing the game :)
Great game submission! I love the art work and the feeling it generates. Absolutely lovely! Quite innovative interpretation of the theme and nice visuals and game design.
The only thing missing was a bit of background music. I did not miss it THAT much as kinof fit with the intentional lack of colors and the "sadness" of the old lady, but a bit of ambience music could have boosted this game even more!
Thank you for the feedback, and I'm really glad you enjoyed the game :)
I agree, I really wanted to add some retro sounding ambient music, but I couldn't find the time to try and compose something. Hopefully, after the game jam I will update the game with some music.
Plenty of good polish here, I could imagine color being a problem if the game were to get to new pallet tho
Thank you, and yeah possibly. I probably wouldn't switch palettes unless I had to though :)
This game is fantastic! I wish I could draw like that! the art is just perfect and the mechanics are awesome! I made a game very similar to that flower mechanics, check out if you want (:
this game is one of my favorites here
Thanks so much! Yup, I'm going to check it out :)
Wow! I can't imagine how much you must've worked on this, because the level of polish, even if the game is "small scale", is damn note-worthy! Kudos for that. The gameplay is rather neat too, the only suggestion I'd have is to get to the actual game loop faster
Nice submission!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it! It was rather difficult, but luckily I've been improving from each game jam I've participated in. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I agree, the beginning is too wordy. I wanted to cut a lot out, but was pressed for time. I made sure to add a "skip scene" to the pause menu just in case :)
After the voting period I hope to add music/sounds and a few more levels.
To be honest I had a hard time keeping track of the colours, but the theme-ing is fantastic! The way the art style is justified by the character design, and the whole into with the old lady, really cool idea :)
Thanks so much for the feedback! I agree, it was definitely difficult keeping track even when developing the game. I had to result to using actual colors when debugging. I'm also glad you like the designs, it was definitely a learning process. :)
