This was great. You really poured your all into this game, and I think you created something amazing and special. Good job!

The dialogue and art are really cool! I love the 1-bit style. The game also definitely gives off an undertale vibe, I think actual gameplay bits could've used a little more juice though.

i love the art and the theme but i dont trust him

The atmosphere is excellent, with your freaky therapist. Aesthetic is great too. The gameplay is simple and works.
Great game !

Thank you so much!!

Hello.

I have some feedback for your game.

Firstly, yes, I get it I seem to be having a bit of trouble. Now, JUST LET ME SPEED UP THE FREAKING TEXT.

Secondly, the first attack( especially on the fight he asks me to shatter ), feels unfair. If you are going to damage me regardless, just spawn me with less health.

Speaking of health, how does it work? I seem to be having less health on the other fights for no reason. Furthermore, even though I can see the player sprite, also having a health bar would be nice, as distinguishing the sprites is hard.

Lastly, I'd like to say that I really like the art.

Sadly, I cannot prove I won the game, as after I said that I'd shatter the conversation started over. So, I can only say: Welp, thanks for reading this today.

Hi thanks for the feedback!

Yes you finished the game congrats!! It starts off at the beginning because narratively the story is a time loop.

First.   The dialogue choices you make matter. Starting with less health is if you chose NOT to trust the therapist!

Talking to the therapist is the main mechanic of the game and the consequences are most definitely not random. Trusting the therapist will heal you. So if you start the fight with health carried over that’s 100% up to your choice of not trusting him when he asks after the fight.

Yes the text is an issue ok. I mentioned it in the description. I didn’t fix/notice it because 1. I am NOT a fast reader and 2. This was made in 3 days cut me some slack man...  it will be fixed after the jam though 100%. :D

This is a story game and shattering the soul is a core part of the game’s narrative. There’s only one ending where the soul is left intact based on your gameplay and choices.

Yeah anyways thank you so much for finishing the game!! I really appreciate it!

okay this game is great and all but...

This THERAPIST IS PISSING ME OFF MAN>

he always says weird things against what i said, and just bcz i didn't trust him ONCE he started attacking me, also the things that attack move very fast i don't have enough time to react unless if i died to it or was just lucky.

and please, let me use my keyboard, i hate rats.

Developer

Hi yes that is very valid!!

You’re supposed to hate him so yeah... I mean he’s the bad guy hahaha is he not?

Yea it’s unfair in some parts but I didn’t have time to test every single attack. I was hoping they were simple enough that players would easily remember where the attacks show up in the 10-30s attack sequences.

Also story-wise the therapist is unfair, I mean he’s in your mind, he can do what he wants. So that’s why I made it like that. :x

Sorry about the mouse/trackpad/touch controls! But for a game like this the keyboard feels a bit off for movement. I would be willing to add those in later though.

Thanks so much for the feedback!!

this game is wonderful! one of the best in the jam so far! it gives undertale vibes.

the story and the dialogues are so damn interesting and mysterious. The art is just perfect. This game is so strong. I definitely waiting to see more! followed you and I hope to see more games like this in the future.

Developer

This game was cool. I like the vibe a lot. Cool art too. I wouldn't mind playing more of something like this. Definitely work on dialog box script though. Players need to be able to speed up text.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Oh gosh I really should of tested it more with the dialogue x_x ... I'm definitely going to add a button to display the text all at once after the jam though!

Ah that makes me so happy! Thank you!!

So good! I love the art style, the gameplay, the story, the music. Simply put, I love this game. Amazing work. I haven't really played Undertale but I can see the inspiration and might even try it simply because of how much I liked your game. Amazing job!

Developer

Ah thank you so much!! I don't know why but it just makes me so happy that you'd try Undertale just because of this game!

Very neat game! Reminds me of Undertale a bit. I like how you wove together the story with the VERY intense levels. I died so much, haha! I can't tell if different decisions in the story make the game harder or not. Either way, that was tough, but fun.

Would appreciate you checking out my game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! They affect it a bit! not trusting the therapist makes it a lot harder and making certain choices can give you a harder bonus level! But coming back to it I would definitely adjust the difficulty haha.

And I'll check it out!

Nice coherent art! I kept losing and the slow dialogue was killing me. Since it's clear you will die a lot (sometimes at the exact same place in the pattern) it would be best to let the player get right back into the action.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!. This was made in 3 days so it needs a TON of polish so I think I'll definitely get back to it after the jam!

I love the art, it reminds me a lot of undertale. The attacks were cool but it could use a little telegraphing. I didn't really notice my player speeding up on low health either. Good submission.

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! I will check out your game as well :)

Extremely well done, the art style is great and the gameplay is very fun. I felt drawn in by the mystery presented and had lots of fun finding out what the therapist was hiding :) You should definitely look into a full development of this game or something similar, the concept is golden!

Developer

Thank youu! I'm so glad you like it! I would love to make a full game around this concept. c:

Great game, I can tell you are inspired by Undertale! The art is amazing and the gameplay is really fun too. A couple things I would note, I didn't really notice that I get faster when I'm hit, maybe this could be made a little more prevalent. Also the attack variety was nice but it sometimes felt a little random. I think it would work a little better if the attacks more more telegraphed to give the player a better chance.

Overall, awesome game though. I had a lot of fun playing it!

Developer

Great suggestions thank you!! I'll go check out your game as well c:
