Game's Take on the Theme
My game has difficult boss fights that come at a fast pace.

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
My team quit, so I did the art and most of the sound.

I could not figure out how to do anything, even after seeing tutorials, I gave a low score but if you tell me how to play better, I will give a better score after seeing more stuff. This is just a skill issue on my end ngl

I agree with the color palate change, and a few bugs here and there. Thanks for submitting!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Your feedback is very useful!

i think the color theme could be improved. some colors dont have much contrast or dont go well with the others which made the game less enjoyable for me. controls felt responsive :) thanx or sharing!

Developer

I appreciate you playing! Thanks for the feedback :D

Nice idea ! But half of bosses didn't attack, I was able to click attack to defeat them in a second... Maybe I didn't understood everything or maybe it's a bug. This said, good submission to the jam, thank for that :-)

Developer

Thank you! I understand there were some bugs, and I apologies for the experience. I spent a lot of time on them and still couldn't get far. I hope it was still ok though.

Seems nice once you can start to figure things out, but its tough to sort out what to do and what's going on. What's with the timed space bar thing at the start of a battle?

Developer

Thanks for playing! The times space bar tap determines your attack; you have to get the bar as close to the center as possible.

The game mechanics make it fun. The retro look and music fit well together!

I always like to test the intuitiveness of the controls and it took me a moment to realize I was supposed to click on attack, the heal button, or the item button, but once I figured out one, I knew what to do with the others.

Not all of the bosses attacked me back, so I was able to just hit attack several times in a row and take no damage.

I think the control that selects your attack power is a reference to the spin theme? Otherwise, I'm not sure what was spinning.

Try out our game, Star Contract - I did the music and some of the SFX. https://itch.io/jam/boss-rush-jam-2025/rate/3218933

Congrats on finishing it alone - sometimes teams are great and sometimes they evaporate or can't get things done.

Developer

Thank you! I was very depressed when my team collapsed, one by one. I was coding 6+ hrs a day, but it was worth it.
