Attacking is really smooth and it looks cool. My only criticisms are a lack of dash immunity and a small glitch that killed me several times. The beam attack is cool, but not being able to dash through it makes for some awkward positions. Additionally, there is a glitch at the end of the beam attack where the boss returns to locking onto the player just before the laser dissipates. There were a few times where I maneuvered around the eye and as the animation ended, it would instantly turn towards me and beam me.

Overall a really cool game, good job!

(Also if you have a free moment, I would really like it if you could give me some tips on my game, I'm planning on remastering it and possibly selling it on Steam, so any input would be greatly appreciated)

Really funny and fast paced action, I like the minimalistic almost monochrome graphics, really matching the game feel and the mechanics are nice too, I rate fun and graphics on top, but all is good, also if you have time, please rate my game too, thanks!!

nice implementation and great work.

I like the music and the graphic style of the game. Also, the bosses are properly designed to explain the gameplay. And the feeling of movement is good to enjoy the game.

I liked the game, very simple and effective, only BUT would be the balance, 1st phase seemed too easy while the 2nd phase on the contrary seemed too hard, I never used the dash tho, not very useful.

A bit neat. I beat the boss after a bit of trouble.

I think the player's range of movement is too stiff. It's what makes handling the 2nd phase awkward. But it's cool the boss has phases heh. For the first phase I just hugged against the top/bottom of him. For the second I was midscreen and threw sword. For third I circled him at a specific radius that let my sword touch but prevent his shots from hitting. I... didn't really bother with the dash button.

I think there's more that could be done but the mana system is neat and enemies giving you a refill on that is cool. Oh also the music is cool! But it also randomized itself after each game over? But all the tracks seem good.

Had a lot of fun with this one, actually was a little sad when I saw that there was only one boss. It's a cool simple game, very nice execution, nice graphics, tight controls and nice music too. My first try I was having a hard time hitting the boss, because of sword range and I thought I could only hit him from the sides, since the sword sprite doesn't follow the up and down directions. But the next time I realized that you should actually spin around the boss while attacking which was pretty neat. I liked the boss fight, had the right amount of content, the one thing I missed was anticipation on the attacks, but that wasn't much of an issue. This is nice, I like it.

Did a lot with very little here, fantastic work.

I think the balance isn't very good, and your throw attack is too hard to hit, making the second phase of the first boss which ought to be faced with skill 2 very hard to do so, as you can't maneuver and throw your sword very well. I couldn't get past it, so I don't even know if it's the first boss or the only boss. If it's the only boss, that's making the most of the one enemy you have, if there's more I can't even imagine what can come after it, since this second phase is this hard.

It wasn't unfun or rage inducing though, it was fun and hard, which is good in my book. Big Blade Ben makes sense, as activating Big Blade is pretty much the default since it also lets you hit the small foes that recover your mana easily and safely, which lets you use big blade again. If Big Blade dealt more damage, it'd probably be enough to balance the second phase.

Thanks for the honest feedback! Really appreciate it. My Games tend to be very hard... Feel free to test "Can you beat the square". Its very challenging.

Big Blade Ben is still in development. There will be more Bosses, more Skills to upgrade, etc.

Cute game, felt very smooth and has good tutorial. I would only say, since your game does require only keyboard for gameplay, then it will be better, if I could move through the menus with keyboard too. Otherwise if I lose to the boss, I have to switch to my mouse to press retry button.

Thanks, that's a good point!

Loved the art, music, and general retro vibes. Gameplay felt really good and fun. The second phase of the first boss is really challenging, perhaps too challenging without some way to heal.
