Game's Take on the Theme
Use magic webs to wrap up and deal damage to bosses, aka, spin them up and spin down.. or something
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
yes 95%, some sounds (only a few) were royalty free that I found on pixabay, and a few small code things I reused of my own projects but they were simple and universal things I reuse in many projects
If not, please link to any asset packs or resources used here.

The visuals are nice, the pixel art is very stylish and well made, also the fights are solid, the mechanics help us fight in a cool way, I find it very well done, its a cool game!!
Thanks! It's something a little different and it's got some rough edges but I like how it shakes things up a little. Preciate you playing and your nice message. (:
Love the game and adore the music! Beautiful!
Ayy thank you, you can find more of the music creators music here (he was part of our team): https://www.youtube.com/@MiraOfMusic He's a cool guy.
Rated! ;) Unbelievable Artwork! :O Love your style!
Great Pixel art, very engaging gameplay, well done :)
This pixel art was wonderful. The boss fights are also a lot of fun and made me spend a lot of time playing. A great game.
Spiders creep me out, but I love them. Fantastic art, and excellent use of procedural generation!
The gameplay is very creative. I think there are some interesting ideas here, but they should be developed a bit more. My main criticism is that there wasn't any strategy outside of "make a web to cover the whole arena". Maybe building the web should make you slower or more vulnerable in some way, or maybe bosses could destroy orbs.
Spooky! Thank you. I agree though, we talked about adding a way to bite bosses and I considered making the webs either have a cool down or limit the range of the web but I found that when you know what you're doing making a screen wide web is actually not a great option compared to making little boxes and waiting on the far side for the boss. But that's a reasonable strategy and I thought it was fine. My brother doesn't know much about keyboard and mouse (he's 14) and his strategy was to fill the arena full of orbs and hope for a lucky hit with big webs. I think both strategies work for different styles. But yeah, probably some editing to the "meta" would be good. Thank you for playing and you constructive criticism though, I am glad to hear your thoughts.
(Reminder for other players: Press E to spawn orbs)
Very interesting concept, although a bit scary haha! I liked the procedural animation, which looks really smooth and realistic, and the mechanics of connecting orbs to surround the target is pretty cool too! Nice works!
Yeah I forgot to put E in the tutorial ): But I added it to the game page.. which most people don't go to I'd guess. But also, thank you for playing Yword! Your game looks so pretty, I saw some people talking about it on the discord. I have to look through some of your other projects, really cool stuff. Cheers.
You art style is really great.
Procedural animation baby, I love it, though with this project we had a pixel artist on the team (hence the backgrounds and sprites) but still, walk cycles are tough! Lol. Thanks
I LOVE procedural animation, I loved that you implemented this in your game. I had some difficulty with the controls, but I believe you are already aware of this part. I really loved your game, I'm even going to save it because I really want to see the development!! Congratulations on the game!
I appreciate the kind words, maybe I will adjust some things moving forward but the game is finished. I do kind of want to add controller support and maybe even local multiplayer just because those things would be simple and make the game more fun in a goofy way (well, the multiplayer). But by and large, we wanted to make sure the game was done by release so we tried to reign in the scope creep lol. If you have any specific suggestions for things you'd like to see added I'd consider doing so, totally open to adding things if we realize they'd be a great addition. Thanks again for your support. <3
The procedural animations are great, I really liked the web mechanic, good game, fun
Appreciate it, and it means a lot coming from talented devs like you and p.5. Good luck lads!
A very cool implementation of the theme!! I really love how you visualized the spiders—they look very fun and pleasing to the eye. The web mechanic is really interesting, though the controls feel a bit uncomfortable. I really enjoyed it—great job!!
Thank you, I agree clicking E while moving got my fingers jumbled more than once. I like the overall implementation with a couple small caveats.
And your game looks very polished and nice too, I'll have to give it a go.
nOiiice and well designed ! Just a bad thing is no Controller inputs or at least WASD become ZQSD (for azerty keyboards). Other than that, lovely game !
Such a buggy game all you see is bugs, you even play as one!
It's true! 😖 So many buggies, though i did do many rounds of bug fixes and QA so they better all be of the creepy crawly variety!
Hi chat, yippee bugs
